Give me 10,000 Biafrans for six months, and we'll build an army that would be invincible on this continent. I've seen men die in this war who would have won the Victoria Cross in another context, i've seen a lot of Africans at war but there's nobody like this people."~ Taffy William Sourc: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taffy_Williams

Igbos should resist such attempt on the great city of Onitsha. They just want to set the city of Onitsha as a Boko Haram target. If Boko can lay their hands on this all important economic city then Igbos will have themselves to blame. Zonacom: |

He sounded so normal and i doubt such a person ever told people to kill yorubas. I would like to know him more and possibly work with him. The dude is special...His energy can be refocused to something greater than biafra. No single talent should be wasted in igboland. |

Igbonazy:Not at all, Ojukwu was by all standards a hero who saved us from the killings in the North at the time. I said that much. But my point was that pulling the East out of Nigeria was not his original plan but because of necessity to save Igbo lives at that time. |

SpaceTour:But how are we sure that the purported prisoner transfer is true in the first place. Secondly, is that enough reason to shut down the whole markets all of a sudden? I believe something fishy is going on. The govt should better issue a reasonable explanation for these. The tension created by this funny rumour is just uncalled for |

Zonacom:The worst thing we can complacently tolerate now that Boko haram has resurrected themselves under Buhari is to allow their movement en-mass into our region. What happened to the massive prisons in Abuja and other northern states to accommodate these terrorists? Boko Haram is known to always "break jail" and escape, only to surface a few weeks after the "jail break" to bomb everywhere. This plot is the first stage to destroy Igboland by bringing bombing and insurgency attacks to the Main market, Onitsha and other places. The same people have chased Igbo from the north, now they want to chase us away from our own land. We should simply say NO to bringing Boko haram terrorists into Onitsha and make sure if they dare to bring those terrorists, we shall attack Onitsha prisons and kill those murderers ourselves and burn the place down. |

OreMI22:I understand your concern bro. But shouldn't the work of resisting the prisoner transfer (if true), rest solely with the anambra legislature and executives? Why is the ordinary man in the street forced to abandon his source of daily bread because of something the state elected officials should handle? Let me just leave it here sha, but i believe there is something fishy going on other than the rumour flying around. May God help us! |
| Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by OreMI22: 3:45pm On Jun 27, 2015 |
Zonacom:In a normal society , a state governement can say they don't want terrorists and the FG will obey, but not Nigeria. Your reference about the so called "ordinary man's daily bread:", they know if they don't take care of this issue right now, they will have no daily bread to work for. It will only take a few bomb blasts in Onitsha main market and their customers will stop coming. |

IGBOSON1:Enough of the rant already ! You know where to direct your frustrations, Igbo politicians. Why don't you direct you artillery at them for continuously selling out. Have watched them over the decades betray their own for a meal of porridge. Watched how they betrayed Ekwueme in 1998, Watched Ohaneze host meetings of Igbo politicians and reel out communique of "Igbo Presidency or nothing" only to turn back and support incumbent weeks later to the detriment of their own, Watched many of them whom I know were awarded contracts for big projects in Igboland embezzle them and did nothing. Truth is, we have to love ourselves(which doesn't translate to hating others), we have to learn the game of politics which is by building consensus with others. That was what Tinubu did successfully with the North and other Igbo leaders tried so unsuccessfully to direct our people to but people like you refused. Igbos can't stand alone, we must stake our claim in the Nigeria project through active collaboration with other ethnic groups in order to succeed. If you stand alone, don't claim others conspired against you, No! You didn't play your game well and lost. Our politicians from the time I know them are so self centred and Ndigbo are the least on their agenda. My point, I'm well versed in the history of persecution of our people before and during the war but if we allow hatred to blind us, we won't get anywhere. We need others in order to move in National politics and that is the only way to beat them in the game. Ojukwu kept talking about handshake across the Niger cos he knows that's the only way we can stake our claim. Besides, our Governors working for us coupled with our aggressive enterprising nature, even without Federal help we'll be light years ahead of others in development just as in the present Anambra scenario, but will they? Didn't a certain T. A Orji mess Abia up leaving heaps of refuse for a legacy. Didn't he sack his Igbo brothers and Sisters of other states from Abia civil service? Didn't Enugu do the same when they got a new state in 1991? How does the Anambra man see the Enugu man when using the derogatory name Wawa to refer to him? Other examples abound. We need to love ourselves first irrespective of political boundary and dialect. That's why I tell people that those who think our problems will be over once they give us Biafra to think again cos it is then that internal strife will rear its head. South Sudan is a case in point. Enough! |

IGBOSON1:Absolutely 100% perfect post! I also don't have any qualms being in Nigeria as long as it is a just and equitable country, and not an opportunity for some hateful basterds to reduce me into a 3rd class citizen. You are right, they are seriously plotting how to shut down Enugu International airport under the smokescreen of "International access into Enugu kills Nigerian aviation industry" So they want to demand that any airline that flies into Enugu, must be denied their other lucrative routes in Nigeria. Such behavior is what fuels the anti- Nigeria feeling. Afterall, Cameroon airport may not be as busy as Lagos, but their people should not be forced to land in Lagos just because Lagos is a more lucrative route. It is clear that the agenda right now is to emasculate the industries operation in the SE by making unfavorable laws, remove any international access into the zone and deny it of any useful federal presence. What more do you want to see before you know they have declared a war on you? |

Maser:Crap! I usually revere your posts, but you missed the entire point in this one and got this flat wrong. As important as having good politicians, good citizens can be in the life of a nation, the issue here is the structure, new policies designed to specifically to strangulate Ndigbo in Nigeria. We may have bad and inept politicians, but that is not the reason why the Hausa and Yoruba are conniving to destroy Ndigbo. Infact, they celebrate and promote our inept politicians as their partners in crime. The issue is how to address the gang up to destroy Ndigbo and not to distract us by counting how many kidnappers , inept politicians or armed robbers we have in SE. Like every society, there are good and bad people and we are not different. But,whether the politicians in any society are deft or daft, can not justify their deliberate systematic oppression and destruction economically. That is what the issue is. |

I really do not like this victim mentality. Why the paranoia and the inclination to view everything from the prism of a victim? Is there a calculated plan to sabotage the interests of the region ? Let us not always mistake glaring incompetence for sabotage. |

Awka=>> Pat Utomi blames the problems of Nigeria on the lazy elite 27 Jun 2015 Leading Professor of Political Economy and Co-Founder of the Lagos Business School, Prof Pat Utomi has posited that through creative thinking and entrepreneurial leadership, states such as Anambra state can re-create themselves and be more competitive. Strategy requires both commitment and flexibility Prof. Utomi was speaking in Awka on Saturday, July 27, 2015 on day 2 of the 2-day retreat organised by the Anambra state Economic Think Tank (ANETT) for members of the Anambra state Exco, Heads of MDAs, Chairmen of local government authorities and members of the state assembly. He said that Anambra state, just like other states in Nigeria must as a matter of urgency determine their factor endowments; those resources, skills and expertise that they hold the most comparative advantage and exploit same to enhance their regional, national and global competitiveness. Professor Utomi charged the audience to think possible all the time for according to him, "If you can dream it, it's possible". He blamed the problems in Nigeria on the lazy elites who he said do not care enough to make Nigeria better. While speaking on the attitude of civil servants nationwide, Professor Utomi stated that the civil service needed to be reinvented if states were to make any progress. "Progress requires discipline. Societies make progress when civil servants own where they are going and lead", Prof. Utomi remarked. He also underscored the need for constant training and retraining of civil servants and cited the Malaysian civil service model which requires that every civil servant undergoes 3 basic trainings yearly namely;specialist skills training, training on goals and vision of the government and on ethics. He reiterated the importance of team work amongst the civil servants and the political appointees. "We must understand the challenge of running teams and we must set clear goals and have metrics for measuring performance. Strategy requires both commitment and flexibility", he concluded. |

Kagame:One thing you people don't understand is that its only Igbo people that look the Monolithic North eyeball to eyeball and tell them whatever they don't want to hear. Its only Igbos that go to any conference with clear cut agenda and voice it out. Its only Igbos that attack Northerners in their homeland when their kiths n kins are attack in North. The North doesn't take any other parts of nigeria for anything but Igbos always act as check on their excesses but the most unfortunate thing is that the entire Nigeria is united in hatred against Igbos. Ndigbo are not playing victim card but Nigeria is always victimizing Igbos. How can Igbo State have only 5 while others have 6 and 7. How can SE receive the lowest allocation in Nigeria despite contributing much to national purse. How can Igbo children score the highest in Umity college while others score low to gain admission. How can Igbos be killed in North because Bonke was coming to Kano to do crusade ![]() How can Igbos be killed in North because Muhammed Cartoon was spotted in Denmark ![]() How can Igbos be killed in North because US invaded Afghanistan to dislodge Talibans ![]() How can Igbos be killed in North just because Nigeria wanted to host Miss World Beauty Peagent How can Igbo graduates be Massacred because Buhari lost an election in 2011. ??How can Igbos be threatened with genocide in Lagos just because they voted for Jonathan in a general election ![]() Check the entire East there is no Federal presence. Why is Anioma not a state but Jigawa and Osun are states without economic lives. Why FG yet to apologize over Asaba Massacre ![]() Why are we just getting Intl airport last week while others have bEen enjoying it ?Do you think all these things are accident, no Igboman use your brain, its not accident, its the system. Let me remind you guys one thing, you can embrace one Nigeria as you like but when the chips are down you will be at the receiving end, I have never embrace Nigeria because the Zoo worth not dying for. Forget those guys you see in your church and schools, they wish you no well, they are just oral friends whose hearts are filled with hate, envy and jealousy. One thing I discovered is that these so called Igbo Lagosians and Igbo Northerners are sabotaging our consciousness, these Igbos born outside Igboland lack cultural, economic, political and social connection to motherland East. They are just setting us backward. |

The stupid people mostly born and grew up outside Igboland without attending any institution in Igboland are those that want to be more Nigeria than Lugard. Imagine in a country, Obasanjo seized Ibeto's license but gave Dangote monoply, Savannah Bank was closed down without due process, Slok Air was grounded without due process, Innoson had his 25 40ft containers auctioned off by Nigeria Custom, all the economic sabotage and whitchhunt is going on. Don't mind those Igbos without any sense of historical and political awareness, when they are through with others they are coming after you. |

AnambraDota:Nne God bless you. Truth is that some of these folks aren't Igbo, but they come here to spy on us. When i read that 'victim mentality' from that guy, i knew i should be wary of him. Even Cameroonians in Nigeria know the Hausa and Yoruba people have a deliberate policy to use their dominance of the Federal government to deny Igbo areas of Nigeria federal presence and the highest offices in Nigeria. So for a supposed Igboman to claim to be unaware of that, exposes his intent of plain mischief. We should know that some people we call Igbo may not share your cause because they view themselves as being born elsewhere. Where you are born is really a powerful thing. It is not specific to Igbos. I know a Yoruba guy "Segun" whose father worked with Nitel in Enugu, and we went to the same elementary school there. He speaks excellent Igbo very well and identified with every Igbo cause, even though his parents were yoruba and couldn't speak Igbo. I think he lives abroad now. So , such a person may have yoruba parents and yoruba name, but he is truly Igbo at his core. So we should expect some of our folks with Igbo names may not share your experience nor aspiration. |

cjrane:I"d rather not be Igbo, than to be an Igboman who thinks he is more Igbo than the others, simply because they hold a different opinion, had their upbringing elsewhere other than the SE or sired by parents from different tribes of Nigeria, other than both being Igbo. I mean, such delusions of adequacy to question peoples Igboness simply because of the circumstances of their birth or upbringing. Comments like these are the reason why some misguided Anambra dolts think we are superior to other Igbos. And you say "spy on us" ,for what purpose and to what end if I may ask? I'd let Anambradota's comment slide because he seems to be a very emotional person and his paranoia can be traced to recent historical events ,even though sometimes exaggerated. |

It will cost so much to do the street roads but it must be done and will be participatory government let us take onitsha for instance . if a street in awada wants a street the government will count houses in that street and if it's a bungalow they pay 10k if it's two storey they pay 20k if it's and each floor pays 1Ok so that government will pay the rest this is the shortest way and you empowe the street to collect the money then government pays the rest. It's a form of tax nd I know we anambra are good at communal effort the roads shouldn't be tar but inter locks |

Kagame:Your not getting things right, any Anambra person that is feeling he is more Igbo than other people is just ignorant only if you will understant that. Since the history of Igboland I never hear or see known Anambra leaders display any anti-Igbo agenda in Nigeria, Anambra leaders have always been embracing the entire igbo family, forget what you see online its everywhere. Why do Fulani dominate the Hausas and all the emirs of Hausa cities are Fulanis, they dominate them everywhere but the Hausas won't talk ![]() Why do Northern muslims regard Yoruba muslims are inferior despite reading similar Koran and calling the same Prophet ![]() Why are Ijebu people always cursed in Yorubaland despite being the most succesful and enlightened because other Yoruba sub-groups thinks they are acting more Yoruba than others because they got money ? The Shites and Sunni are always on each others throats fighting for supremacy, the Arabs and the Persians are always acting is more superior, the Borno empire never accepted to be tag a conquered territory by Dan Fodio because El Kanemi was succesful in repelling that. Let me tell you that supremacy is everywhere even in my town, my village, my kindred and my family, the reason why that of igbos is pronounce is because Igbos are republicans in nature, nobody keeps mum while you lord over him. I was in a bus from Onitsha to Asaba last week, one Okada guy did a reckless maneuver in the express, the driver of our vehicle shouted "Nwa aba" and everybody in the vehicle started cursing the okada man. This is pure ignorance to be sincere, our governemnt need to work on re-orientating some of us, illiteracy is very dangerous but ignorance is evil. I can never insult anybody here or there because he is not speaking my dialect, I was born in the old Anambra State and some parts of current Ebonyi were in the same state with me and we were one. Currently am in Anambra State but if the state is divided tomorrow should I be insulting Awka or Nanka people for being lesser Igbo because am in another state. Ignorance is the major thing there, this ignorance is not limited to our illiterate folks, people like Abagworo, Rochas, Chino, Ayaogu Eze, Elechi need to be hanged, these people are educated but their ignorance could be measured on industrial scale Whenever you see somebody regarding another as inferior due to dialectical differences that person is an ignoramuse. On Igbo consciousness, those igbos born and grew up outside igboland are one of the reasons we are not making progress in our quest. They will be insulting you of tribalism and bigotry, they will say your irritating, they will blame FG for lack of federal projects in North and South West but will be insulting Igbo governors for lack of Federal projects in SE. These set of igbos without any connection so far have rendered us lukewarm in our quest. I know many of them, am not saying everybody will support my cause afterall the entire afrcian-American didn't openly supported equal rights movement. |

Spawns of terrorists and religious extremists are being hatched in the south east at an alarming rate via nnamdi kanus radio biafra. Someone re-echod kanus instructon that ibos should burn down yoruba churches in the southeast but only three people condemned the poster, however, pro-secessionists like igboson1, anambradota and cjrane would rather rebuke anti-secessionist like maser instead of giving commonsense a chance. You deserve the right for self determination but attacking the church is certainly not a way of getting you independent country. What has Deeper Life - Pastor Kumuyi got to do with the actualisation of biafra? If you burn yoruba churches, does that mean you will automatically get your biafra? You ibos should also stop this marginalisation mantra. I am from a minority tribe but you'll hardly hear us whine and cry like you ibos do. No tribe is marginalising any tribe in Nigeria, rather we have political leaders that are marginalisng the masses and they cut across all tribes. |
