Federal Government of Nigeria should ban import of light armoured vehicles !

We have designed and advanced beyond the Igirigi level I think.

Our army is already meeting with Proforce, maybe FG should sign a joint venture.

It's time for Nigeria to build a real multi-role IFV with different versions for 30mm cannon, missile capability, thermal systems, laser hardware, targeting systems that can be purchased off the shelf from China/Ukraine.

Nigeria can build a $ 500,000 IFV locally and it will match a BTR-80 IFV variant.

2. Holy sh1t, you think you can just bang out a quality IFV over night? Look at the Patria - 8 years from concept to test vehical (for a company with a long history of IFV development) and then another 7 years of development for the South African variant.

Nigeria has a looong way to go before you can truly claim any quality local designs.

First step is getting a manufacturing deal for something from one of the big boys

Then you use the skills and knowledge from that to develop your own indigenous stuff
