I heard eskom is failing big time, you have all turned to candles grin
You might want to revisit that 46Mw nonsense.

We have generated personal power distribution to eclipse you economically and produce a greater number of billionaires than you. What more do you want?
46 000 MW is still too small for 52 million South Africans and I think thay makes sense, that is, if you are knowledgeable about technical subjects.

Sorry to disappoint you sir. South Africa is still enjoying power as usual with only few interruptions that happens on twice a week for only three hours.

Meanwhile, Nigeria uses candles for life and forever and ever, Amen.

Stop bragging about weapons you imported from Europe, it's not your domestic manufacture.
We don't import weapons to a large scale, we develop our own. Nigeria is the master in that category.

Sometimes don't you see the importance of doing some research about the demographics of South Africa before you can put your dirty fingers on your keyboard. You are downgrading the credibility of Nairaland. People look up to this forum to use as their source of information and now you are here with your campaign of misleading people.

Here are the credible data.

Black African 76.8%
White 9.1%
Coloured 8.9%
Indian or Asian 2.5%

The economy of South Africa is controlled by South African government. It remains the only democratically elected government tasked to regulate the economy.

Your knowledge concerning the history of South African bush war is like that of a small child starting to go to school. Your level of knowledge is very ridiculous.

A new mall in Midrand, Gauteng with a building area equivalent to the size of 65 rugby pitches was scheduled to open in April 2016, the project’s civil and structural engineers announced on Wednesday.

“The gross building area is 485 000 [square metres], which equals 65 rugby pitches,” said Gerhard Saayman from Aurecon, the civil and structural engineers for the project.

Named the “Mall of Africa”, the retail development was, according to Aurecon, the continent’s largest mall built in a single phase.

At 131, 000 square metres in retail area, it would be one of the biggest malls on the continent in terms of size. The mixed-use mall would have four courts, each with distinctive, African-inspired design features that reflect the continent’s different climatic zones. It would be part of the Waterfall City multi-purpose precinct in Midrand.

“The mall’s design also incorporates many unique elements, including very high shop fronts, wide passages and an undulating roof feature in the centre with specialist animated LED lighting and a large public space with restaurants known as the Town Square,” said architect Tia Kanakakis of MDS Architects.

Nigerians generate over 62 000MW of electricity everyday through individually assisted power generation{IAPG}.
Moreover, due to recent privatization of all power generation and distribution companies,Nigeria now has an installed capacity to generate 6580MW of electricity, but due to gas pipeline repairs,we currently generate over 4000MW of power with at least 19 hours of stable power supply per day in most part of the country.

Bwahaha… stop making a mockery of yourself. Nigeria produces a mere 3000 MW of power which cannot even last for 24 hours and generators do not add anything to the grid.

Mr Lezz, Nigeria is doomed in a permanent load shedding.

Nigeria has an installed capacity to generate almost 10 000MW of electricity as at April 2015.But due to gas shortfall and pipeline repairs, power flunctuates between 3500MW-5000MW,albeit recently, power has stabilized to 19 hours per day.

Newly constructed NIPPs are to add another 10 000MW by 2018 along with other large scale power projects.
Unlike SA that has grounded to an halt due to recent abysmal power output and 'power cuts',Nigeria is improving on electricity generation everyday, even your government wants to follow our lead and privatize your eksom.

Arms deal was $7billion. Countries have been spending hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars to procure weapons abroad while SANDF buy almost 100% of their basic weapons locally.

Our inventory comprise 90% of SA proudly made weapons.

You think 3,000 MW will power the massive oil industry, talk less of manufacturing and residential homes?

The 3,000 MW people quote is federal government generation alone.

Another power production sector is called IPP, independent power producers, there are several private companies NOT federal government, and they produce more power than the government.

Nigerian oil companies have private power generation companies called IPP

State governments also have state owned power generation companies, also under IPP.

http://businessdayonline.com/2014/07/nigerias-ipp-scene-picking-up-on-back-of-power-sector-reforms/

Twenty new IPP companies were licensed in 2011 because of the success of existing ones.

Nigeria as a whole is in the region of about 10,000 MW power generation from dozens of federal, states, and private power companies.

That's fresh education for you at no cost, mumu grin

Good!! and SA has installed capacity to produce 60 000MW by 2017. Thanks.

We have three power stations already built and on their final stages to be completed. Medupe power station is already producing power just before completion.

We are already starting to build six nuclear power stations.

Never make a mistake of comparing Nigeria to SA in terms of power production. We don't use generators here chief. We have a quiet environment free of noise pollution created by generators.

Nigeria produces only 3000MW of electricity on its grid. The claim which has been compared by the government of Nigeria.

We can compare SA and NIG.

We both have load shedding today.

We both are expanding power generation.

We both are building nuclear power plants.

We both are building solar power plants.

We both are advancing, there is NOTHING in South Africa that Nigeria does not have in terms of technology, NOTHING !

SA load shedding is temporary and takes only a maximum of three hours once a week or twice.
Nigeria's power production cannot last for over 24 hours in any day, hence Nigeria is stuck in Load shedding for ever since the world was created.

Nigeria expand its power to even less than what SA already has and SA wants to expand theirs to over 100 000MW

SA already has solar power stations and Nigeria is building theirs

SA is already building six of their nine nuclear power stations and Nigeria has not yet started and that might remain a dream forever.

I surely cannot see comparison here because SA is far ahead.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's power production drops to 3000MW.

By the time you reach 100 000MW,Nigeria would have reached or even surpassed that amount.
You do not know the huge power projects currently being contructed,Nigeria is building another 5000MW hydro-electric power dam along with solar energy projects that would run into over 6000MW.We are also increasing the capacity of our existing power generators by hundreds of megawatts,in 2015 alone, license have being issued for the construction of many gas power plants(at least 6 thermal power plants),a huge coal power plant of 2000MW in the east and other IPPs in the country.By 2020,we will have a combine capacity of 48 000MW to power Africa's biggest economy, largest industry and richest country.

Tell that to your children. Nigeria will never surpass SA in power productions. SA is heading forward to build more mines estimated at 15 and they require more power that will exceed that the power that Nigeria can think of in any day.
