Dear mgoogle. Please when u say medical remedies do u mean prescribed by a doctor or u mean the remedies u got from Google? Pls nairalanders remember this is mgoogles niece and not his/her child so instead of bashing we should advice and also show encouragement. Please I beg you in Gods name , take your niece to a certified medical doctor this new week and request for what other users said about taking a sample and doing culture test. If it's not working please do so again and again till its cured and fully resolved. Pls let us know how it goes. |

Your sis is suffering from a candida infection which has spread and therefore cause severe damages as a result lack of treament. You need to take her to the hospital as soon as possible, cos such can lead to organ damages/failure, which could be deadly. |

opeaceo:Good evening. It's more likely to be a Bacterial infection. They should take her to a well equipped and licensed medical laboratory test. Take kia. |

This is just to much for this innocent girl. A friend is having a similar case, but it comes and goes. Most doctors says its immune disorder. I would advice you look to that side too. She needs to stay healthy and eat fruits always. Also Moringa, Aleo vera. |

Right now you can try buying chlorhexidine mouth wash and let her gaggle twice daily to little bit relieve her from pain then prepare and rush her to proper oral health care professionals |

There are different causes of mouth ulcer. Some of them include HIV, Steven -Johnson syndrome from reaction to drugs, Systemic lupus erythematosus, syphilis, toxic epidermal necrosis, infectious mononucleosis etc. She should go to a very good specialist or teaching hospital where she would be thoroughly investigated and properly managed. Internet is not a substitute to consulting a Doctor. A dermatologist will be in the best position to help. |

searider:. Don't you think in this day & age, they would have tried several hospitals by now? Since age of 5 he said. I may be wrong though. This is unlikely just due to oral thrush/infection. This may be due to due to auto-immune condition. @OP, Seek advise from a consultant microbiologist (a specialist infection physician) if you have already seen a dental surgeon. Wish she was here in Europe. My former prof is a very good immunonology & Infectious disease physician. To understand her condition, details of any allergy, infections, medication, immunisation and general medical history are crucial. |

OP, when you say you've given her 'medical remedies', something within me tells me you're not talking about a good hospital or a certified pharmacy. I have a nagging hunch that you've been pumping that little girl with "agbo"(traditional therapy) or you've been resorting to roadside drug peddlers. Take her to a good hospital(as many on this thread have already advised). And please, if you need help next time, come out clean, and with the specific details. |

No better advice than to seek medical help from a renowned medical institute but be very careful on employing diabolical means. 10-11years was too long of a risk for such condition. Remember, only God heals... |

Ashir1:.....no sir.....no mouthwash should be administered to her so that the medical laboratory scientist can obtain a pure sample of the supposed infection from the saliva and teeth using a sterile swab stick then carry out an MCS(microscopy/culture/sensitivity) test to discover the bacterium necessary for the damage and administer the proper antibiotics |

that is most likely an herpes infection commonly known as shingles. It occurs along dermatomes most likely in this case a division of the fifth cranial nerve. The patient may feel some relief occasionally how the infection is difficult to treat as it has a viral origin. Patient is adviced to keep fit, avoid things that may cause immune suppress, use anti-oxidants and some gabapentin based drugs, nsaids may help the patient. Antivirals are of little effect. |
