A big, or prosperous man will not rejoice or gloat if he sees something bad happen to a poor man or beggar; but a jealous, poor man will be glad to see the prosperous, big man's calamity. Recall the poor, Islamic countries rejoicing when 911 happened in the US? Like Palestine rejoicing if anything bad happens to Israel that dominates them 101%? Need I say more? Igbo amaka. You know that this your lie about education has been busted time without number, abi? All the ish you guys gloat about thinking you are better than others has shown that you are actually behind while others lead. If you repeat this your lie again then your eye will open when I show you and you'll see the evidence in the results that have been made public. whether it is WAEC, post doctoral etc... you guys in the SW are followers in education, not leaders; at all. sweetgala: ^^^For your mind now you think you've made a point abi? I'm really trying my best to be civil here! Just what do you mean by saying Igbos in Lagos 'have not been diplomatic'? You talking of their reaction when some of their kinsfolk where deported out of a state in their own country, or you're talking of their reaction when your Oba threatened to drown the lot of them if they dared vote against the choice of the Oba, Tinubu and apc? Or is there any other one? You need to put a lid on this 'host' shi't you guys are fond of bandying about! What are Igbos getting for free in Lagos to warrant this careless statement.....is it free housing, free food or free land? |
Re: Ladipo Market Crisis Deepens by Remarkable: 1:22am On Jul 12, 2015 |
tiger28: So are you saying that if Igbos had respected their "hosts", respected the oba and didn't call Lagos a no man's land that it is, the Mushin LGA would not have taken the step of renovating Ladipo? It is really laughable that you all see the governments acts against civilians as some show of triumph over the Igbo Lagosians... I guess this goes to show how dependent the Yorubars are on the government, the way some northern state governments dolls out rams to it people... interesting stuff.a |
Re: Ladipo Market Crisis Deepens by IGBOSON1: 1:23am On Jul 12, 2015 |
Amazo: ^^^You're not perceptive enough to realize that Nigeria made Lagos......and that any 'situation' that would necessitate Igbos leaving Lagos would eventually lead to its loss of status and the gravitational pull it presently exerts in Nigeria and West Africa! It would not wither and decay completely, but would be severely downgraded from the regional economic/industrial powerhouse that it is today! So, in a manner of speaking, the guy you quoted is actually right! |

FACT! quote author=Amazo post=35748454] I follow @Madamoringo and she can be somewhat overzealous sometimes about her fondness of her people and her pride for her heritage. But sentiments aside, then there are arguments and/or facts that she presents, and that's what we should look at. You have presented yours too and Ibos aren't the only tribe in Ladipo = indisputable fact, but then to say Lagos will be empty if ibos leave is absolutely laughable and nonsensical. Lagos is too industrialized to become "emptied" by the exodus of ibos, if and whenever that happens. The so-called "vacuum" will be filled instantaneously, in fact nobody will notice the ibos left. This is the fact, so don't get in way over your head. Lagos will always thrive with or without the Ibos. Nigeria needs the ibos and ibos need Nigeria; but Lagos doesn't need the ibos, it is the ibos who need Lagos. The ibos didn't build Lagos, rather the ibos built themselves in Lagos, and through Lagos. This is reality! [/quote]

IGBOSON1: Keep shouting, it's obvious you have no idea what diplomacy means. Because all I see is the Igbo community that was so loud during the election with claims such as "we own Lagos" , "we built Lagos" "Lagos is no man's land" coming back to hunt them , now they are the biggest losers. The Hausa in Lagos went with JK but made no noise about it. I hope you learn before it is too late. Your comprehension may be flawed since you failed to see the last paragraph which states "what is wrong is wrong irrespective" 1 Like |

omonnakoda: Some people neither know the history nor understand the economic dynamics of Lagos, and at such are prone to make unfounded, illogical and sometimes mischievous statements that display their shortsightedness to provable facts. They don't understand that Lagos is to Nigeria what New York is to America, London is to UK, Berlin is to Germany, Shanghai is to China, Jerusalem is to Israel, Tokyo is to Japan, Moscow is to Russia...etc and not in political terms but in economic respects! Lagos was, is and will always be an economically vibrant and thriving city. That's why even as far back as early 1920's people from various tribes across the country have been migrating and settling in Lagos. Even the prosperous Northern states back then like Kano were trading hubs, and most people would trade and leave, they were not "intra-immigrant" destinations - Lagos was both. Traders, artisans...etc (everybody) was coming to settle in Lagos, and not just for trade but because everyone was waking up to the fact that Lagos was a city with huge economic potential and a state destined for exceptional economic prosperity both then and in the future. In fact, had the Yoruba leaders been extra smart and more daring visionaries, Lagos ought to be a country of its own by now, and should have become the Dubai of West Africa and the America of Africa...but I think Tinubu's eyes are open to that vision now and Lagos is heading in this direction. 1 Like |
