thanks bro. Can I notarize the sponsorship letter here in Nigeria? I plan applying online.
thesoj:
Make sure he sends original and certified copies of his bank statements (assuming you are applying via paper).
Also, I would strongly suggest he notarize the sponsorship letter he sends you.

Best of luck.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 5:00am On Jul 14, 2015
Also, your sponsor should explain in the sponsorship letter why he is sponsoring you. Because your sponsor is in a third country, I think it is critical to make sure the sponsor's commitment to funding you is unambiguous (to the VO).

If your sponsor is able to deposit tuition for one semester that would be a good demonstration of his commitment to sponsor you -- if you are running out of time you could skip this part and just make sure his financial documents and sponsorship letter are very convincing.

My sister is in this same exact situation, so I'm speaking from experience.

Omonjoe:
Congratulations to those who were just kald for medicals! I have a maternal uncle in US who is willing to sponsor me, pls what re d documents I need to get from him?
Will four months SOA, Biz registration cert and sponsorhip letter do?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 5:03am On Jul 14, 2015
No, the person signing the document has to sign it in the presence of a notary. Therefore it is unlikely that a notary would notarize it if it is already signed.

If your sponsor can't notarize it, just make sure the letter is very convincing given that the sponsor is in a third country.

Your case is very simple. Your profile suggests u have a great chance. I agree with the VO on d insufficient fund. Pension fund is normally not available for you...N3m is just enough/tight (owing to naira decline) for your 1yr prog (incl. living expenses, accommodation and feeding)...I'm certain d VO is wondering what share of your hubby's N3.1m is available for you, and how he will support himself and d kids...again we do not know what your hubby earns monthly. Kindly beef his account or yours and let him state how much is available for you. I'm going for the same program as well

rukytol:
Hello house, kindly help with my Canada study permit. I got a denial in April n I was suppose to go for PGd in Safety n Risk Engineering in Newfoundland. I am a graduate of Chemical Engineering, 2005set. I have been working as a Safety personnel. Reason for denial is insufficient fund. But by my calculation it ought to be sufficient. I want to reapply next year as I have deferred my admission and do not want a denial. My tuition fee is about $3780. I had 3M in my account as at d time of my application, a support of 3.2M in my hubby's account and about 3.1M in my pension. I got all the required documents submitted- letter from employer, payslips e.t.c I have 2kids, one of which is an American citizen. I indicated that none is them and my hubby is accompanying me.

ahyotomiwa, please respond specially has you were the one that posted the reasons for denial.

Thank you all.

Lol if you have a their visa, yes. If you don't, you'll sit in the airport because you cannot pass through their border without one.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by soji0509: 7:53am On Jul 14, 2015
No body will request this from you. You have confused it with Medical request.
Run fast now to the VAC at LEKKI if you are around lagos to do it. Your application submission is not complete without it. You have only added a few extra days to the processing time of you app by this omission. Time is not your friend right now. Run, run, run to VAC immediately with your passport and the other required doc generated during your online application. Best wishes.

Congratulations. I hope you know that monday MAY be a public holiday. Confirm from the hospital if they will be working that day.
Are you very far from Lagos ? If I were you and not far from Lagos, I would have traveled in the evening to pass the night in lagos so that I could be at the hospital by 7am latest. The test at IOM Ikeja is said to be very fast and could be concluded within 30 minutes.I will then return to base immediately. You should be able to give you place of work a call by 8.30am that you will be in shortly. That you had to attend to an issue not earlier envisaged. If truancy had not been your habit, your office will understand and bear it with you if you package it well. Do not delay the medical test unnecessarily please.
Thomby2k12:

Please, will it not be too late if I go to IOM for the medical next week Monday? I will not be able to get any permission until Monday.

DPizzy when r u leaving...

DPizzy:

Congrats on ur TRV success bro! Also heading d same direction.
Doubt there is a direct flight to Newfoundland (not absolutely sure though). Your best bet would be to get a flight to Toronto (Royal Maroc:extremely cheap; av my reservations about this though, Ethiopian, Egypt Air, Turkish Airline amongst others are quite affordable to toronto), after which u would join a connecting local flight (look up West Jet or Air Canada) to St. John's.
Hope to see u in St. John's!
