Just shows INEC/RSIEC was heavily compromised...If they cannot interprete and apply their own regulatory statutes and go ahead to fritter away resources to conduct sham elections I just wonder what they're there for in the first place. Isn't there a way to penalise INEC and other institutions that flagrantly flout the laws then come to waste the valuable time of the courts with frivolous petitions?

Done! They shouldn't have even recognised any candidates with the breach of that mandatory provision of 21day notice but still they went ahead. If INEC cannot or refuses to comply with d law it has sworn to uphold and regulate itself accordingly that is compromise and someone should be held responsible!

APC are bad lossers.

According to the Act, 21 days mandatory notice must be given to the Independent Electoral Commission before the conduct of primaries - a provision the APC flagrantly disobeyed. On that premise, the Tribunal ruled that since the 21 days mandatory notice was not given, the APC did not field candidates in the two constituencies and accordingly dismissed the petitions for lack of locus.

Relying on this, it is apparent that the APC will lose all the cases before the Tribunal since the breach is not peculiar to Dr George and Mr Odili but an offence committed by the party in Rivers State, thus, affecting all candidates who contested on the platform of the APC.

We warned APC to forget about Rivers state but they wanted to test the might of Rivers people. This is victory to Democracy! Congrat PDP

that's exactly what i have been thinking all day; how the he1l did it have to take a tribunal to detect this misconduct? electoral technicalities should be enforced by inec, not a tribunal or court. for instance all those inec commissioners who were implicated in misconducts were never sanctioned by inec. instead jega kept on saying go to the tribunal. is it a tribunal's duty to penalize an inec official?
