TheSonOfMark: i believe Bank is a good example. Depending on the context in which it is used, bank could refer to a place where money is kept or a place close to a river. Hope i am correct? 3 Likes 1 Share |

goldtooth: Yes, you are. Matter of fact, it could be a triple entendre when you consider that bank could also mean expression of trust or confidence in a person's ability. cc Thesonofmark Therealadonye Did I just make any sense |

Caseless: Phaneritic means something that can be seen through the eyes, unaided. Aphanitic is the opposite. Mossaic means stuff that has two different meanings....in this context. Am I right? |

MizMyColi: why don't you turn this into a vocabulary thread proper where you post like words of the week & people discuss... etc . you play games...construct sentences [weekends] etc.. something I tried to do here but failed at - https://www.nairaland.com/2318168/english-language-vocabulary-development-chatroom ✘ |

darkenedrebel: I'd wanted something organic y'know... Basically, what I'm saying is, I looked forward to a situation where we use only words that folks use in their posts. But I will try and come up with something. Maybe weekly tests based on the words discussed e.t.c... |

Funny story about Ambidexterity, A friend was forced to be Ambidextrous. He was originally left-handed and in his community, it was kind of a crime, So his parents tied up his left hand throughout his Nursery and early part of his Primary school so he learned how to use his right hand. Now he's Ambidextrous. By the way, see Leonardo's swag. MizMyColi: 4 Likes 2 Shares

Re: Nairaland Residents' Grammar Diary... by Nobody: 11:32am On Jul 16, 2015 |
TheRealAdonye: like I said Modenine doesn't have the wits to do a triple-entendre.. This is an example of triple-entendre by a battle rapper known as Conceited •You guys wanna take shots? Then Captain Morgan's come out Slow it down! I just dissed you You guys wanna take shots? Get capped and more guns come out Slow it down once more You wanna take shots? Get capped, them organs come out this is a triple-entendre.. take shots means two things. one is to shoot with a gun & the other is to drink. Captain Morgan is a Rum. he went ahead to play - capped and more guns come out & capped, them organs come out. all almost sounding alike ✘ 1 Like |
