a lady the first time. something like "Good day, you look good etc.." is a turn-off and isn't gonna get u her digit

but go thus .. "heyy, i said hi but u finding it hard to respond. hope no ishh?" she go respond "sorry but i didn't hear"

THAT'S if she's interested in u (ur dress sense and accent/voice or how mature u look comes into play here).

If she ignores u then just free her.

If she replies by apologizing then u go at her again by saying "it's okay but i'm seeing u around for the first time. What's ur name?"

and then continue ur journey of getting her number.

Such an ice breaker is mostly appropriate for exposed and intelligent ladies...they would probably perceive your sense of humour, politeness and simplicity.

On the other hand, the not-so-intelligent ones would likely take offense due to obvious misunderstanding. Hence, when it comes to icebreaker, the perception, personality, exposure and level of understanding of the recipient would normally determine her response.
