Lol you talk like everyone who applies gets denied. Or like international students are only from Nigeria. Of course it's not a charity Organization but the best they can do is provide you with all necessary documents. The amount it costs you get TRV is not their problem. If CIC says "No", please what can the school do? Nothing. So it might be their loss by -1 student from Nigeria but even if they cared, their role is limited.
Well, I guess people can start rumours but if it's a rumour then it's a pretty reasonable one.
justwise:

Schools definitely care because foreign students is their cash machine, how will they survive if they have empty classes, empty student accommodations but still have to pay lecturers who would have lectured those students? Do you think they are running charity organisation?

Of course people make up these rumours sometimes and when it turns out to be false you don't see them logging on here frequently.

Let's not forget that the schools and Canadian government needs our application fee too. So we should consider that, more reason why they still encourage more applicants year in year out.
justwise:

If there is a quota it will come from the schools limiting the number of foreign students to be admitted in a year and they will not issue admission when the number is reached. It makes no sense that the school will give admission to a prospective student knowing fully well that the student chances of getting a visa is almost nonexistent. Not only that...the student will waste time and money applying for TRV that he or she is unlikely to get.

kfrosh:
It is logical to believe that they would have a projected number of international students coming from each country for every session. Am sure they won't want to exceed that with an excessive margin so the best approach to that is just to reduce the number of successful applicants considerably . You don't expect them to come out and tell us they use a quota system.
#MyThoughts

And u r sure they have almost reached Nigeria's quota abi?

That's a new one

Lol, how many people were offered admission for that course. Mind you some courses have less than 20 capacity. Also, how many Nigerians, how many international students were offered admission for that program, how many countries process application for 8 weeks? How many people in other countries feel the need to apply for fall entry in June?

Most provinces in Canada already publish the quota of PR slots on a yearly basis and it is usually in the papers when they are requesting for more slots for their provinces so nothing would stop these provinces from publishing student slots as well if truly there is a quota system in play. If truly there is a quota for students that information cannot be kept a secret.

Smh @ dis arguement of quota.
b4 dey send u a mail for medical dont dey see they've exceeded d quota? So is it a reasonable tin to send u for medicals wen d medical fee doesnt go to dia pocket. If dey've exceeded quota, den rejection shdnt b afta medicals, u wouldnt even get d mail.
we shd learn to be positive in life not all dis -ve assumptions. Not lik any1 here works there.

something strange happened to these May applicants. . . first, they were ignored when medicals started to flow in for June applicants. and then this May applicants later got their medical mail. which was later followed by a denial mail. i don't need a cleric to tell me something definitely went wrong somewhere.

we can all sit here to speculate whether there is a quota or not, but even if there is a quota, sending a medical mail and then a denial mail after, is sure not a proper way to deny applicants based on "quota" palava. i think there must have been an internal error or an internal audit.

it could have been a computer error... yall remember the 2012 American Visa Lottery computer error that led thousands of people to believe they had been selected as finalists in a U.S. immigrant visa lottery. and that selection process, involving nearly 15 million visa applicants, had to be re-run.

I also would consider it an unconfirmed rumor.
My best guess is that they have a qualitative (not quantitative) quota, in that they can't give a visa to everyone with a perfect application. But I highly doubt that there is a quantitative quota, that doesn't sound plausible to me.

We will know the truth if nobody gets TRV here till next year then, until then I take this as an unconfirmed rumour

bro, @ the bolded; for those who got another medical request, that must have been an oversight from the VO. If you notice, all those people did was to call their hospital and in less than 30 minutes or at most the same day, the issue got resolved and medical status changed.

how do you do an upfront medical ? ...

i agree my girlfriend was given TRV a week after her resumption last yearhowdobyoubexplain that ..

darefestus:

I never thought I will say this but for once I agree with you.

Just before I was delayed, there was a time when people were being delayed left, right and center. so much that the quota system became melody to some people's hears as they kept rehasing the same old tired nonsense about Fall resumption nearing blah blah.

Fast forward a month later, the story changed and everyone forgot "quota" , even the biggest propagators of the theory forgot and revelled in the abundance of trvs the thread recorded-how quickly people can change their opinion.

Congratulations to all thos who just got medical calls and approval @GU2015 et all

@kfrosh, @2grozz and others who got delayed. Brace up, take your time, defer your admission, call for your gcms, tackle the loop holes and re-apply! God is your strength

Those 3 or 4 peeps who got delayed after medical request, can you please give the following info on your apps in the following order so we can look for similarities?

1. Program Title e.g International Business
2. Degree type e.g. Post Grad Cert
3. Institution e.g. Univ of Regina
4. Province e.g. Saskatchewan
5. Hospital used for Med e.g. IOM
6. Did you get "Medical Passed" mail? Yes/No

Thanks.

To the peeps delayed after medical calls, funmi24 and herkenolar, it's quite unfortunate but not over yet. The congratulations you have received in this forum must surely see the light of the day (your applications were most likely reviewed again after first review, such random sampling happens, maybe the senior visa officer choose that date at random).

2 major topics have been mostly debated on this thread at different points in time, and whenever any of them starts, it consumes pages like wild fire.

There is bound to be 2 opposing sides to the debates as long as there is no official link yet to act as a valid proof.

The first is the issue of embassy checking bank acct balance which some said they do while some others say the don't.
My advice: Whenever one applies for TRV, try your best to limit the outflow of cash from the primary sponsor's account to a certain threshold (preferably amount you filled as available for your studies) to be on the safest side cos no one knows yet what exactly happens in there.

The second is the issue currently under debate, which I'm of the opinion that they have a target number of applicants to issue TRV to every year (until proven otherwise) owing to funny/silly reasons they give for visa refusal towards September and January every year.
My advice: Apply for your visa as early as you can except if you're on a very special package (the special ones: PhD applicants).

However, God factor overrules every assumption made cos He has the final say.

Relationship to sponsor (and hence level of commitment to the applicant) might also be a key factor during file review in this fall injury time. They should indicate that as well, it might be useful...

Someone should please the entire page in the link below and try to deduce if this answers the question of quota system (though it's an old article, but just to show that such actually existed)... Just came across it now, I guess it's close enough to the current argument.

http://www.immigration.ca/en/immigration-wiki2/43-canada-immigration/146-immigration-quotas-cause-the-backlog.html

Excerpt: Each year, the immigration department INFORMALLY establishes quotas and staffs government offices so that its missions cannot process more visas than its established quota.

Kindly note the word INFORMALLY as contained in the sentence.

Good morning everybody. I applied for visa 10th. I got admission in a completions school of makeup and art design. I am asked to pay for student kit 6weeks prior my start date. My start date is sept 28 and I must pay d non refundable student kit fee by August 15th. If I don't pay this fee I can loose my seat in class and d fee is non refundable so I have to be sure about my visa before paying. I will like to know if its possible to change school after receiving TRV. Pls reply.

I strongly believe there is quota and it means they are more strict in their assesment.
looking at your profile, you definitely tick all boxes to be given a TRV.
i believe CIC has a way of giving one a clue as to what went wrong in an app.
in yours il like you to look at the missing company sponsorship from your uncle that got missing.
it shows that was where you failed in a re-assesment.

you dont need to write them.
you must have addressed it to them so its their property.
just take a clue from that and think about what to do.
with the amount of money you had, its obvious they werent too convinced about the sponsor.

on another day you might have gotten sponsorship not credible.

The sponsor letter signed by him, but the affidavit of support of sponsor, I did at Ikeja High court, I only wrote his initials( A.A) just on my way to Lekki submission.
Could this signature discrepancy be the issue because these are only two documents missing!!!
