tumababa:Sir, I think the VISA card should offer the same rate. We need to verify from a well-informed StanbicIBTC customer services rep. That said, the VISA card now comes in three options: Credit, Debit and Prepaid. You can get the debit one and test before you use it for purchases. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Nobody: 7:56am On Jul 18, 2015 |
Dieumerci: From my understanding. Visa card is in dollars. You need to look for dollars to deposit into the account to use it visa dollar card cannot be linked to a naira account. I might be wrong |

tumababa:I got a message from them stating that they now three options for the VISA dollar card. So find out from them how the debit option works. Stanley08 gave their email somewhere above. |

I think fidelity wants to compete with stanbic rate...btw there's one percent commission on the pix there... |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by stanley083: 10:05am On Jul 18, 2015 |
tumababa: Lol. U want to become a financial institution by urself. Btw, their Euro rate is better than Stanbic own. 222 is where Stanbic always hangs around. So maybe i will too. My dad has Fidelity Bank atm and it's VISA. I'm starting to get ideas. LOL 1 Like |

tumababa:me too cos stanbic is very usless imagine for the past 5days I can't transfer online to my account always get an error message that my bank is not available. Now all my payments have been put on hold or paid by gtb higher rate at 226.4 I'll wake up at fidelity on Tuesday cos stanbic is messing up now. |
Re: Monitoring Dollar Rate Ourselves (CLOSELY) by Nobody: 10:17am On Jul 18, 2015 |
Jeffy1206: OÕoooº°˚ ˚°º k thought i was the only one. moved some amount from gtb to stanbic since Thursday. got alert from stanbic that i received money, but not in Available balance. and it was instant transfer. tried another transfer yesterday and gtb said my bank is not Available. i don suffer for stanbic hand. anyway, i was told by their cc agent that i can collect visa prepaid dollar card and fund it in dollars. it will not be linked to any of my account. i will bring naira and they will load the card in dollars. sounds awesome to me. but still limited to 10million annual cbn limit. i can also collect a platinum card on my naira account and the 10million limit will start afresh. so i will be collecting the 2. 1 Like 1 Share |

Fidelity charging 199.45? I don't believe that. You guys should know that there is difference between PTA/BTA and cards rate. I really wonder what happened to FBN, their card was charging 153 1 Like |

@ stanley08, stanley083, tumababa, jeffy1206, mavinc4u, Kindly drop that Fidelity thot asap, that rate applies only to PTA/BTA purchase limit of 4k/5k with your travel docs after actually calling the airline to confirm the date & validity of your ticket before giving you the cash. To use POS, ATM & online is between 211-213.. i know what I'm saying ... Have a great day all... @Tumababa, Do not mind that CC rep, they dont know their ass from their mouths, i was told same thing till i got to the branch & had my bubble busted, you have to fund the account in dollars... 1 Like |

stanley083: 2 things. 1. Sorry for the oversabi,no vex!!! Thot it might benefit someone since I've actually bought PTA @ fidelity at 199.5,was going to use the card for purchases before the 211 scared me away.. & currently using stanbic at the Atm, for online or pos purchases (even getting some cash back on accassions at some stores) here on a daily basis @ the consistent 199.5 2. I'm not a bros!! , corrected you once. |

@tumababa, They don't do BDc (cos that's what that tnx entails),they have lots of ignorant staff who don't even understand the bank's products features & limitations. I argued with my acct officer cos I was told same thing by a CC rep, he had to call international trade in my presence & they refuted it immediately. I'm presently in the states to deliver & was set on getting the visa card to pay hospital here cos the 4k$ fidelity sold me was not going to do much (stanbic even only sell cash in one branch; their Idejo HQ @ 208 sef) only to be told it has to be pre loaded with USD that I have to bring myself & cant be used locally.. http://www.stanbicibtcbank.com/Nigeria/Individual/Transactional-accounts/Cards/Prepaid-Cards/Visa-Prepaid-USD-Card What that account does is that it removes the 300$ limit of atm withdrawals,500k pos & 1m for online purchases cos it is not subject to the cbn naira rule.. You too just imagine this, if it were possible do you think the importers will buy USD @ 240+ when they can open multiple accounts & do their tnx @ 199+.. 1 Like |

Bro-ism is a sacred religion. Those who follow Barney Stinson know what i mean, those who don't will suggest i should get checked. 3 Likes |
