According to the Bible, in the last days the spirit of antichrist (1Jn 2:18) a satanic-empowered opposition to God and all he has accomplished through christ will be represented in bodily form as an influential, international leader. This person will engineer satan's final attempt to overthrow Christ. Unlike the rapture, the coming of the antichrist will not be without warning. People who have abandoned true faith in christ may still claim to believe the right things and to accept the Bible's teaching, yet they reject God's moral law and standards. By doing so, they corrupt the truth and embrace deception (Mt 23:25-28).

3. The one who now holds it back must be taken out of the way.
The one who holds it back may best be understood as God, as he is revealed through the holy spirit. He alone has the power to hold back , the man of lawlessness and satan (2Th 2:9). All of God's restraints against sin will be removed and the satanically inspired rebellion will begin. As God removes his restraining influence, the man of lawless nesswill be revealed (2Th 2:3-4). Be ready for the Rapture.

What I know is that man can delay rapture by doing things right. Man can also fast track it by getting everything wrong.

Like other new testament writers, John viewed the whole period beginning with christ's first coming (by birth) as the last days, it was a reality that gave a sence of urgency and expectancy in relation to christ's return. Even in john's time, christians were aware that a great enemy of God and his people, an antichrist will come before the last days are completed. This person will rise to power and lead a great rebellion against christ and the NT faith ( see Rev 13:1, 8, 18 note; 19:20; 20:10). Yet john says that before this, there will be many antichrist, some of whom had already infiltrated the church and promoted false teachings about christ. This deceivers claim to be believers, yet they love the world and its sinful pleasures. The "antichrists" john refers to in this latter are probably early Gnostics.

study revelation proper. The bible was specific abt a particular antichrist dat will rise. Refered to as the beast. Note the spirit of the antichrist can b expressed thru a single being or group of person(organisation). The bible also talked abt where the world will b shouting peace atlast till judgement comes on them. Do u notice the chant of change everywhere right now? Not just in nigeria.

What I know is that man can delay rapture by doing things right. Man can also fast track it by getting everything wrong.

Rapture is delayed because of those that have not heard the gospel. The bible says that until this gospel is preached to the ends of the earth, the rapture will not come. God delays his coming because he wants every one to come to repentance.

the one who holds back, preventing the anti christ from coming is the church and not God because after the church has left, God will still be in earth making sure people still get saved, yes people will be saved during the tribulation and it wont be possible if the Holy spirit is not on earth. it is the holy spirit that make men to be saved and since he is God, he wouldnt be removed from the earth it is only the church that will be gone then immediately the anitichrist will come.

If you understand what i wrote. I never said God is the one holding the antichrist. I meant his restraint against sin. God has been working through the church to ensure that his word is preach throughout the world. That is why Many christians believe that when God takes away his restraining influence the rapture will take place.

The preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom will lead to that Ephesians fulfillment. There is a gospel Jesus preached, it is called the Gospel of the Kingdom. Errmmm, not exactly. THE END is not the rapture na. The end of the world is like 1007years after the rapture. Jesus can appear any moment. He's delayed more by mercy on us, not by our incompetence and unwillingness to preach.

The rapture is not actually the end of the world. After the rapture there will be just seven years left, after which christ will literally return to take the tribulation saints and then destroy the forces of the antichrist and evil, and he will establish an earthly reign of peace for the last 1000 years of time as we know it. If that is what you mean, you are right.

That is what i mean. The rapture and tribulations first, then the literal second coming to earth, then the end of the world. Our unfaithfulness doesn't incapacitate Christ from the rapture. It could happen any moment.

The saying that Christians are able to delay or speed up rapture is false.

Jesus said that only God knows the day and hour (specifics). This means there is a set time.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. - Matthew 24:36

However, Jesus gave us signs to know when the time is near. There is a SET time.
Just like the rain, we observe the cloud and the winds but you cannot say by exactly 11:04am on Monday the rain will start.
You can only say, it is about to rain. So it is with the 2nd coming.
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. - Matthew 24:44

I said this during Sunday school lesson this morning that Mattew24 and luke 21 has already been fufilled except the rebuilding of the temple which would soon take place.Jesus will soon appear on air physically, the question is the church ready to be rapture.The church seems to be engrossed with the business of "Martha" rather than watching out for the bridegroom the "church's oil is burning out" like the foolish virgins.Remember he is coming for a church without spot nor wrinkle.
