I also got an admission into uottawa and am still confused about their tuition fee...for am MEng, am paying for 4 semesters right?
Hi,

Just noticed your post. It was a bit confusing for me as well, it's basically the sum of fall+winter+health insurance. Not sure about your department, but it generally sums up around 14k or so. You should ignore summer fees unless you plan on taking courses in the summer.

They may not have updated the figures for your starting school year yet, so, just use an estimate of the previous year (winter 2015, fall 2015) available on the website.

You could also email the accounts department if you're still not clear with anything else.

Hope this helps.[/quote]

hmmm....who is your sponsor?
i think the family tie is the issue here.......
Are you married?

what did you use as a tie in your application?
list your documents.
I am not married and my sponsors account was good, a maternal anty, I included newpaper publication of change of name with pix with her too
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by hayqinsbFX: 11:45am On Jul 20, 2015
i cant say nothing than your app might be a victim of peak period strictness.....
but you have to reapply with stronger tie to Nigeria though......a future employment letter could fit perfectly.

Hello my fellow Nairalanders,

My sincere greetings go to you all.

I am currently a 6th year medical student, 21 years old, studying in Ukraine and would be graduating in June 2016. I plan to apply for a masters degree program in Canada. Specifically in Public health or Physiology, then afterwards, I would return to Nigeria to work a bit and after doing that, I would travel out again for my Phd. I have just started sending out emails to prospective supervisors that will be willing to accept/supervise me during my Masters program beginning from fall 2016. I have been keeping myself busy with this forum reading peoples stories and so on and I believe my question here would get some reasonable answers.

First of all my question is, would I be able to meet up for fall (September) session in 2016? Reasons as to why I asked is because I would be collecting my Medical Degree in July 2016 and most application deadline for fall (September) session ends by April. Although, I already have my academic transcripts from my 1st - 5th year of medical school.

- How do I deal with this? Is it better I postpone till Winter session which is by January 2017 or I should just go ahead and apply against fall session? Because I don't want a situation whereby, I'll begin my application for the fall session and still would be unable to meet up. Also I would be missing the Nigerian Licensing Exam which is by September I think. Least I forget, applying for a Student visa from here takes just 25 working days, likewise apply in Nigeria that takes roughly 2 months.

- Please does anybody have any sop layout for public health or physiology? Something that isn't plagiarised.

I thank you for all your respective ideas and advices.

Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks into the mind. -Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Hello, Pls a frnd of mine is willing to study Medicine in Ukraine, Pls what are the processes involved and the cost? Pls is there any financial aid for international students in Ukraine. Tnx in anticipation of your response.

Hi,
I don't know about MEng fees but if it's a 2 year program, you'll be paying for 4 sessions in total (summer terms excluded).

is it coincidence that masters students are getting more attention now in both routes.....

No, it is not a coincidence. I believe Graduate Students get more preference in that every country will prefer those who by thwir measures can affect their economy positively and getting admission into Masters can be used as a signal for such.

Then you're diverting from the main point they need to be sure of which is "coming back"
This is not PR application so I don't think that's their reason for giving masters a priority.

I belive it's more of the assurance it gives them that more masters applicants are genuine study visa applicants.
More people apply to colleges for the sake of just migrating.
That's the way I read it...Not something about economy atall

No one is saying they won't still get it now.
Just saying because of periods and if they have to streamline, masters wud get a preference.

Good day friends, please how long does it
Take to get a canadian study permit from Nigeria, my schools admission officer just sent me a mail telling me it takes up to 1 year to get that, how true is this? Please I won't like to waste 1 year and end up not granted a visa. Please help a brother out.

Your admission officer is right, as that is what is stated on the webpage.
But from experience here, it's takes 6 to 8 weeks, if you're super lucky or a witch, takes a week or two, if you're prayerful like Team12, it takes 4 weeks, if you're from the line of native doctors like toboy, it takes 3 weeks, if you're anything like mEsther....

Na one year ooo undecided.
