VO: Hello, how are you?

Me: I'm good, you?

"Fine thank you," he answered.

VO: So you are going to UW-Madison on a Fulbright program. That is great.

Me: Yeah.

VO: Been to the US before?
"No," I answered.

VO: Let me give you this, consult it in case you have any difficulty in the U.S - which I doubt because you are on a government sponsored program. Meanwhile, you should collect your visa at the Public Affairs Section on Monday. Have a good day.

Me: You too. Thank you.

Thanks biikeys. Just needed to clarify that to know what time to book for my bus ride to Urbana. From what you just wrote, I think 2hours should be fine. Thanks

biikeys:

How long is your layover?

O'Hare is huge, busy and typically takes a while to walk/take a train to the domestic gates from the international terminals..I'd say give yourself at least 2 hours to be safe(including immigration/customs stop). If it's less, you'd probably make it as well...you'd just have to do lot of walking.

Where is your school?

Rent is generally expensive in the DMV area. But as a student, you should get something cheaper. Try using Tor browser for craigslist, and make sure to rent with a student like you..you don't want stories that touch

my school is in Washington DC. But I dont want to live in the city tho, i'm looking at Maryland but close to the metro. I found something cheaper on Craigslist for 550monthly, all utilities included. Its a Newly finished basement apartment, I got my friend to look at it. She lives in Maryland so she knows what is obtainable. Thanks.

It's exciting how success stories have been pouring in. As Darklight would say, getting the right information is key.

To genuine prospective admission/visa seekers, try and be good listeners and also don't be shy of asking questions when you need an info.

I don't think this is applicable to US, although schools will tell you the kind of test you should do before coming over..

But where do you get this information if i may ask

I saw it on a blog as part of documents to take to the POE.
My school requires some proof of immunization before registering for classes. I don't know if I can do it here or will have to do it when I get to the school.

Here is my transcript for my interview yesterday(July 22nd,2015) @ Lagos Consulate
@6.30 window 2
Me: Good morning
VO : Good morning ,scan your finger and pass your documents
Me: Okay, here we go(smiling)
VO: (smiles back) Yea here we go, why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going for my MS degree in chemistry @East Tennessee State University
VO: How many schools did you apply to? Name them
Me: Four, ETSU, Texas Tech,Troy University and Covenant University ( a private university in Nigeria)
VO: Why did you prefer ETSU to the others?
Me: I chose the school after carefully reviewing the course curriculum of all the schools with the help of my undergraduate Coordinator. The course curriculum in ETSU is structured in such a way that it perfectly suits my graduate study needs. My research interest which is characterisation of bitumen fraction using pentane oxide and gel chromatography also aligns with what is obtainable in the school( the VO was nodding as I was talking). I actually had conversations with Dr  *** who happens to be working in line with my area of research interest. He showed a great interest in me and was ready to include me to be part of his research team. I believe going to ETSU at this time is the best track to attain my carrier goals
VO: DId you write the GRE?
Me: Yes I did (smiling)
VO: can I see your score
Me: Yes sure ( passes it to him, he looked at it intently and returned it)
VO: what are your plans after studies?
Me: I intend to come back to Nigeria and use the knowledge I have gained during the course of my studies to contribute to the education sector. I will also want to be a consultant to companies that specializes in the refining of solid hydrocarbon especially bitumen
VO: How do you intend to pay for your education?
Me: My uncle is sponsoring me coupled with the merit scholarship award I received from the school. I was also able to save up a bit to support myself
VO: Do you have any document to show the scholarship award?
Me: smiling, it is written in my I-20
VO: Yea, do you have a letter from the school
Me: ( confused, but kept my composure by grinning) searches my folder but I knew I did not bring any document to prove that. (I can sense that he was looking at me). After a while I looked at his face and smiled and said ' I am sorry I don't think I have it here, but I have a mail that confirms my scholarship. I also have an acceptance letter that back that up but the letter is in my bag outside. I can go and bring it if I am allowed
VO: okay..hmmmm...let's see what we can do...hmmmmm...he was typing for a long time ( my mind dey tell me that oh boy u don mess up but I kept a positive attitude). he picks up a white sheet and wrote on it. Provide evidence of financial aid from school. He handed the white sheet to me and asked me to come anyday between Monday and Wednesday between the hours of 12pm to 1pm. He told me I can come back again that same day(yesterday) if I can get my documents. By 12pm.
Me: Thank you collects the letter and went out

@12pm batch same day,another VO (Window 10).
Me: Good afternoon (at this stage, I was so tired but still tried to smile)
VO: Good afternoon, please pass your documents
Me: Okay, passes it to him(no scanning this time around)
VO: he typed for a while then asked. Do you have the evidence of financial aid from the school
Me: Yes, I handed it over to him(printed copy of the email from the school,My acceptance letter and admission letter)
VO : collected it and looked at it intently. How do you intend to pay the remaining fees?
Me: My uncle is my primary sponsor. I was also able to save up a bit to support myself
VO : what does your uncle do?
Me: He is an auto sales contractor. He imports and sells variety of posh cars
VO: typing fast. Asked me a question but I did not hear
Me: smiling, please can you come again? I can't hear your last statement
VO: What degree will you be studying in Tennessee?
Me: Ms degree in Chemistry
VO: typing for a while,he passes my I-20 and SEVIS receipt(at this stage I knew I had been approved) . He gave me a white sheet and said congratulations, you can pick your visa within the next one week at the location circled
Me: Thank you. Collected the sheet. (at this stage I was really drained psychologically and I heaved a sigh of relief) When I left the premises,i was overjoyed that I felt like smashing the windscreen of the cars passing by.(lol) I had to calm down sha. I thank God for favour. I knew I was really favoured by God. I see it as having two interviews the same day(sounds weird)
Thanks to slimmy05 ( I wish to hook up with this awesome dude when I get to tennessee, your advise and help is invaluable, he even assisted me to pay my SEVIS fee when I asked. keep doing good coach!(God will surely reward you). Thanks to walspring too.
I hope I have been able to impact someone with my transcript. Pray to God,Be confident, maintain a positive attitude and smile(even if you are confused)
Ask questions if u don't understand ,dont jump into answering the VO's questions (think before you answer). Finally don't cram your rehearsed answers cos u might be giving answers on the interview day  like a robot

Im facing the same issues, i cant register for classes until i get it done and someone told me not to do it here but looking on the school website i saw where they posted there that it will cost $500 to get it done over there, can i do it at any general hospital or is there somewhere specific i have to do it?

Congrats once again bro. What I appreciate most about your transcript is its uniqueness. I've never stumbled on transcripts where one has to return for another interview without paying a dime. I salute your confidence and composure as well. That was enough to demoralise one.
