sinizia:that's if he has a release clause, & even then, with a transfer request in hand it can still be negotiated to realistic figures. Pedro had £100m release clause reduced to £22m cuz that was an unrealistic sum & the player hopes to leave in search of first team football. they say Messi has £250m release clause. if he hands in a transfer request, whom do you think will pay that amount of money for one single player? how many positions will he play by himself?? |

Pedro is 27 and 5ft5 tall. Can this guy be a top 9 for Utd? Won't Distin, Dawson etc bully him off the ball at will? Abeg make we forget pedro. We need someone strong with a lil height. This is EPL not Laliga |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 6:57am On Jul 24, 2015 |
SailorXY:Pedro's case is different. He's not worth that amount. He never lived up to his hype because of superior stars that Barca got, so no club on earth will pay his release clause and Barca who obviously wants him to go reduced his buyout clause by over 70%. But in the case of CR7 and Messi, even with the handing out of transfer request, the club will still insist on the full buyout clause unless they have a year remaining on their contracts and you know both of them have many more years on their contracts. So it's either you pay £250 mill, or no deal. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 7:01am On Jul 24, 2015 |
Leyqute:It depends on the kind of football a club plays. If Man Utd do play the Barca-esque style of football where they rarely cross but pass their way to your net, then Pedro has no qualms. But in Man Utd, both Maria and Valencia cross ball a lot, so we need a tall CF. |

Di maria to PSG- 1/8 To stay- 9/2 ---SkyBet |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 7:57am On Jul 24, 2015 |
The only way I'll have a problem with di maria's sale is if we sell at a loss... Otherwise if we recoup all or even more than what we got last season and spend half of it on Pedro.. . That wouldn't be bad at all. .. If psg no ready pay.. . Mk them go Siddon.. . We'll give him another chance |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sharperino(m): 8:18am On Jul 24, 2015 |
SailorXY:His status relates in the sense that while the squad have limited recognised CF, It already has alot of support cast playing from the attacking midfield position. And most of those players could slot into the CF position to hold sway. Losing Di Maria would most probably inform the decision to beef up the CF position what that opportunity. And Di Maria has already been rumoured to be linked in a swap deal with Cavani of PSG. While buying a forward isn't completely tied to Di Maria's stay, his leaving will definitely warrant buying a CF. |

Leyqute:arsenal is rich just that arsene wenger is an economist, he spend wisely unlike van gal. Last season arsenal won FA cup while Man U went trophy less. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 8:47am On Jul 24, 2015 |
sharperino:ok. the reason I'm opposed to di Maria's sale is simple - we don't have a better player who'll force chances. tiki-taka, yes but no be wetin we wan chop. this is a league where you must have good pace in the team & the other pacy lads we have are Januzaj, Young & Depay. Januzaj is no starter & Depay may need some time to settle in EPL like last season di Maria while a team chasing EPL & UCL glory CANNOT rely on Young (I know his form has improved alongside Fellaini but this is the fact, they can't be more than back ups if we are serious). having said that, I don't think anyone is on di Maria's case apart from click-per-pay journalists. di Maria rejoins the squad on Saturday with Rojo & Hernandez so let's see how it goes. |

tess1:1. you have failed waoefully. Asimmiting to a fact is not evidence at all. See this man o. You really are an Ukwu!!! First, what Rooney has even done by granting interview is not an admission to a fact. But me leave that first. CASE 1. Ekwe is accussed of impregnating a an underage maid. The maid tells the authority that it was Ekwe who did it. Ekwe writes a statement claiming responsibility. As the case goes on, a lawyer comes with a professional who has a recorded conversation/video how Ekwe's Uncle who is a clear favorite to win a senatorial seat in an oncoming election begged the maid and Ekwe to help cover up his deeds so that his political ambitious wont be stalled. He promised to compensate them and right things in due course. Here admission is overrided with evidence. Case 2. A man goes into a banking hall to complain to the manager how 4m was withdrawn from his account. He threatened to sue the bank and calls the police. The bank check and discoveres the money was stolen via ATM and online withdrawals over a period of two weeks. The bank promised to Investigate and get back. On getting home, the man narrates his story, then his daughter told him she saw her elder brother with the ATM card twice. The man calls his Son, he admits to the crime after much interrogation from the dad. The man calls the bank to forget about the complaint. But the bank said they wouldn't let it low, because it was high time such fraudsters are hunted down. The bank tells the police to help them search a certain hostel where some fraudsters lodge to carry out online financial crime. The police invites the owner of the account for his own statement. In a bid to protect his Son, he claims he withdew the money personally. The police are unbale to catch any thief and the man insist he withdew the money both in ATM and online. Eventually, the bank produces ATM shots of the person who withdew. Behold it is the man's son. The police swings into action, arrrest the son, and eventually lead to the arrrest of some of his gang member involved in online money theft, identity theft, etc. Now the bank is suing the man for false accussation and for dragging their image in the mud. The police may decide to prosecute the son and.... The second case could also be the man's girlfriend in place of his son. I have seen a case of a sugar mummy who got her money taken from her account by her boyfriend via several ATM withdrawals. At the end it was a matter of shame for the woman. The rest of your post, doesn't say anything to suggest you have a good argument. Who told you all I did was to give evidence and leave? For Rooney's interview to pass as an Admission, it will have to be tested against other suppossed facts being presenter by his opponent in the case. Rooney's interview cannot be an Admission in itself. If l said Chicharito played 14 matches and he played in front of Rooney , but Rooney's interview says anything else, that wont pass as an admission. The best it can be is just a statement. Not even a confession given under caution. If another party confronting Rooney, and says in his own view Man United played 4-4-2, then that interview wont still pass as an Admission because Rooney said he played as a sole striker. At the end, it is evidence that will hold. Video clips, match reports, tactics charts, if presented by professionals. |

sinizia:no player is worth £250m that's the point. a club will rather sell @ £100m when a player is actively or publicly pushing an exit than allow confusion in their camp only to collect less than £100m a year later. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by sinizia: 9:17am On Jul 24, 2015 |
SailorXY:@ embolden, that's why i said it depends on the number of years left in the player's contracts. if they have long number of years, the club can play hardball with player and hold onto him for much longer before selling. Heck, the club can decide to lose the player for free like in the case of Tevez and Man Shitty. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:42am On Jul 24, 2015 |
chrisley024:I can quote several past interviews where Rooney said his position is behind the striker, behind another striker, etc. SAF said Rooney likes playing behind the striker in the number 10 which is Kagawa best position. SAF also said Young played once behind Agbolahor, Carew, etc in the same place he deploys Wayne Rooney. Andy Cole said Rooney likes playing off another striker in a tadem. Lastly, many British footballers and coaches have a old time habit of calling the number 10 a striker. If you read about Cantona, you might think he was a striker like Nisreltooy. |

Before I go. Now it's clear Ramos is not coming. So Otamendi should be pursued seriously. Or will Blind lead us at the back? |

elampiro:i don't need a tactics site. i have more information on where rooney played than zonal marking or any football tactics side in the world. opta does not only show rooney's positions. they also take their time to produce the images of where rooney received all his passes. as at the time zonal marking reported his one-sided article, he didn't have such info in his ammo. rooney played alongside welbeck/chicharito. when he referred to lone striker, he was talking about 09/10. in 11/12, he formed a strike partnership with welbeck/chicharito which explained the reason he threw his toys out of the pram in 12/13. he has given several interviews on this ish & he has destroyed your claim that he's the best number-10 when he said himself that his best position is the striker position. |

igbsam:just a rumour. Ronaldo can't leave madrid now. Why will he leave sef? He enjoys support of the team, fans and Perez. Nobody in madrid is even threatening his position. Bale that was bought to add flare to dat team is not really deliverying dat much(everytin back to Ronaldo's head). He is still in great form scoring over 60 goals last season and we all know that Cr7 making marks so why wil he leave now that he is about to become Madrid's all-time highest scorer in just 6 years a record that will last decades b4 someone gets to displace it. And I don't really think it is wise to splash around £70m - £120m on a guy in his 30s. Remember he still has 3 years left on his contract so his transfer fee will surely be on the high side. Man U should just concentrate on realistic transfers, we shouldn't waste time chasing shadows transfer window is closing on Aug 31st. We should go for realistic transfers not Lewandoslki, cavani, ronaldo. Same thing we did with sneidjer for more than 2 years, we've started with Ronaldo too. |

SIRcumalot:29 is a big age for a player that started playing at a top level since 17. it means rooney has given 12 years of his life in a top league when the shelf life of a striker of his size has an average of 8-10 years. simple glance at his history theory does not wash. rooney was the best striker in the club in 06/07, he could only score 14 league goals in 35 appearances. as at that time, SAF didn't even know any other formation apart from 4-4-2. so what's the excuse? you want to rely on a fat 30-year old player to perform in the same level as costa, aguero, suarez, lewandowski, etc? you have a better chance becoming the next british prime minister. by the time you realise rooney is totally washed, we would be out of 3 competitions and fighting to finish 4th with west ham. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2477056_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 that was rooney in the CF position last season.....we have played 2 preseason games now and our best striker is yet to score. the same rooney has only 1 away goal in the league in 18 months. you must be having a laugh, mate! |
