Adekunle was a hero Nigerians refused to recognise because he is a Yoruba man. He was fearless in the battle front.

What a shame! After all the "patriotic killings" in the civil war against the Biafrans he still gets denied his retirement benefits. Yoruba people think they're wise but they still remain slaves to their northern masters

He had had encounter with a particular Northern Army General at the Supreme Military Council and because of his comment while he was asked to terminate all Igbo at the then Biafra war. He challenged the General on this and the insult the particular General rained on Chief Obafemi Awolowo, that he can not be rude to a Yoruba elder and that as far as Igbo is concerned, they are his people because his first wife was the ADC to Akanu Ibiam and what happened next, he was retired.
