Hello house, just when I thought that I'd finally scaled through the form A hurdle, my mum's bank(Stanbicibtc, Umuahia) called to say they couldn't complete the transaction. Reason's being that: 1.) They need an official letter from the school stating that the money is indeed for my yearly upkeep (my mum has told them the embassy and not even the school demands that the money be paid into the account before you get any visa but they still insist on the letter) 2.) They(the headquarters) say that even though they're familiar with people using form A to fund their account (which as a matter of fact I'm beginning to doubt), that they've only handled the cases where the person trying to transfer is in fact the owner of the account (my mum is trying to transfer to my account with the form A method) and they've not come across a case where someone else is making the transfer. All these things are beginning to stress me out sha... Anybody with an idea on how to tackle these issues? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Futurewiser: 7:39pm On Jul 27, 2015 |
aibee01: First asking her if you can book your flight after your interview does not show mature attitude and somehow reflects desperation. You should have asked her also about changing from block account to sponsorship. it implies you don't know what you want or what your are doing and shows seriousness. Remember the decision is in her hands (although in God's hands) but dont toil with visa officers. |

nellyb24: I think we all should try and reflect a bit on the information he is trying to pass across as it may simply require a second look to understand his message. The fact remains that he probably has the most current information since he did his interview today. I also did mine today. The point is that the Biographically old document is no longer required as part of the documents to be submitted. Of this I am sure for M.Sc applicants at the least. We are all trying to help one another because we were also helped. "It was in my heart to help a little because I was helped much" 3 Likes |

Futurewiser: I do understand your point about not being too forward or coming across as desperate but i think it could also act as an ice breaker after about 50mins (some spent more) of answering questions and cramping your hands. I do not see the wrong in asking a question such as that after the actual interview was done just to see if smiles come out and so one can go home with a good feeling. (my opinion!). If i remember correctly, someone asked his/her interviewer if it is true that Germans don't play with the beer and the VO replied "find out for yourself when you get there" with a smile! These little things sometimes helps immeasurably but of course I am not of the school of thought that everyone should then start asking questions or saying wisecracks to get a smile. It could also be beneficial if one gets done with it confidently, says a nice thank you and leaves. The second question he asked I believe was not even for his benefit. I remember him saying he might ask the VO just so he can help clarify that issue as someone on this forum asked that question. We are all here to help in the ways we can..... it was in my heart to help a little because I was helped much 1 Like |

aibee01: It was also a pleasure to meet you. ALL: I would like to chip in a few things from our experience today.... If you have done due diligence and read through just this thread, then you are set for the interview. additional question (in addition to what is already stated above) I was asked is: The sea that borders Germany to the north (I think this came because of my destination...Kiel) Note: Please, let everyone try and keep their answers within certain limits especially with the Nigerian VO attending to student visas now (as Ma'am Chinko German is on holiday till August), this is because she asks some questions based on the information given by the person before you. For Example: Efe mentioned the political parties of the Chancellor and probably that of the governor of his destination state, so aibee01 got asked which party the Chancellor represents (we can imagine how that can affect all the configs planted in the brain) aibee01 also mentioned the seas and oceans bordering Germany, so I go asked which sea borders Germany to the north (I only know of the Baltic Sea) So let us try and keep the information as simple as possible and if we can, discuss within your group for the day where to soft-pedal. It will surely end in praise. it was in my heart to help a little because I was helped much 4 Likes |

swtxt: Hello ma'am.. I can tell you that I was through this pain 100% last week. In fact I ranted and ranted. I was misunderstood in fact I was even blamed on here. What the bank said is EXACTLY what was they said In my own case.. In fact they even debited the money. The following day CBN said they will only process it if it's a school account. We tried to make them understand that it's for my upkeep and a requirement from the embassy. Dem no free oo. We called a friend that works in CBN. He categorically said that we should use dorm without second thoughts from him sef. I was SAD. People here said it's because I used Skye bank. Even the Bank Manager said he has done before that it's no biggie. In fact the transaction went through sef. Na CBN gan gan block am. Saying they will not! ALL THE BANKERS SAID USE A DORM ACCOUNT. tho the difference is quite much. Sorry dear. Pls and pls. Just go and use dorm. I looked careless on here.. Well someone on here will advise to try another bank sef. Well..... It will mean that u will have to re-transfer that huge amount of money from bank to bank. Till ur luck runs out. I hope ur mum can really go through that stress. The option since day1 was dorm account. I didn't say Form A doesn't work o.. Before someone attacks me on here.. 1 Like |

No German is taught in German it is not normally taught in English. But to your own advantage get a Deutsch-English Dictionary so that anything taught and you don't understand, you can check in the Dictionary.. (I am also available when/if you need help). For language schools in bremen check this ones.... When you are coming for Bsc meaning you must have to visit a Studienkolleg. So i will advice you to apply to Schools that have Studienkolleg and on Registration there is a Form used in that Form they will ask you if you want them to put you in a Language school (tick yes).... If you are given an Admission for maybe Winter and you didn't use it or travel better contact the School to Shift it to the next Semester if not the Admission don expire.. For schools with Studienkolleg chcek here http://www.studienkollegs.de/home.html. isidollarboy: |

@swtxt and twinkle1 Why not open an account with Fidelity or Union that have worked for several others? I'm just of the opinion that the stress involved with going about this will pale in significance to the cost a dorm account will incur... Just my opinion |

swtxt:The reason being that Ure transferring from Ur mum's account... Most time the account Ure transferring to must bear exactly the same name as the block account or directly into the school account ... U can try by having Ur mum transfer the cash to Ur own account before u initiate the transfer into ur block account In the alternative u can use a dom account. I hope dis help |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 9:15pm On Jul 27, 2015 |
swtxt:Before I profer possible solutions, let me jus say this. Nigerian banks are beginning to play politics. The issue of mone laundering is serious so they are trying to watch there back.. lol.. Anway you can consider the following options. 1) open an account in your name at another bank/ same bank and try to do the form A transfer 2) print the email the embassy sent you after interview concerning funding the blocked account, print the embassy's checklist for visa and highlight the blocked account part. Include any other document required for Form A transfer. Attach a cover letter stating exactly why you are making the transfer and make reference to the documents attached. Then dress very formal and serious, walk into the bank and insist on seeing the branch manager (if possible go with your mum, anyway she will accompany you since its her account) Relate with the manager, he /she might give you a better option if Form A is not possible 3)avoid this whole wahala use Dorm account and transfer the money. This will cost you some extra cash tho. I hope this helps.. |
