I initially applied for a PGD Program at uO. The school got back to me and told me they weren't offering PGD in the academic cycle and I was given a list of Masters Programs to choose. I was confused so I called the number attached to the email (God bless that guy). He looked at my transcript and told me what program would work for me. I still took sometime to know decide if I wanted that program. We spoke back and fort for a fews days and I made up my mind. Well you know the rest of the story....

TheBae:
So are you ready to share information of your application on the forum? If not, I'm not sure there's any use. People need details bruh
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by burrytee(m): 10:34pm On Aug 03, 2015
I did apply june 13.I can't say d exact time the status"waiting verification was there but have been seeing that since three weeks. Yabatech is my school.am sure they filleD the form from wes.
TheBae:
You just have to wait for another update. Are you saying that it has been "waiting for verification" since June 13?
What school did you attend?
Don't let the student/academic affairs office rest.
Did a staff from your school fill the form that WES asked to be sent with your transcript?
Is your school on the list of WES' verified unis? (if not, they might still recognise your uni, it just might take some time)
Go ahead with your admission process and email the school telling them that WES is delaying. My WES evaluation took almost 6 weeks and the result got to the school a month after admission deadline. Just keep in touch with them. Don't worry too much

@adenikky07 You are very welcome. Do not hesitate to ask for help in proofreading your SOP.

@obiaguna No vex abeg. It's just that too many people come on here asking questions for which they could have used google to get the answer in 30 seconds. But for reals, information about tuition payment installments is one that you should email the school about.

@MichaelFinn Abeg give us more information na. Would you mind sharing your CGPA and undergraduate course of study? This information would give hope to current/future 2:2 CGPA applicants on this thread -- I know a close friend in this predicament. What was the list of masters courses that the UOttawa person suggested applying for?

Do you have idea how long it takes them (uottawa) to verify transcript? I hope my school would give them all they need very fast cos I want to do TRV app as early as possible

I'm not sure you got the right information, that can't be from the site (I stand to be corrected). This is what I just found. It also shows the payment plans. I hope it helps. Mind you, the tuition varies depending on the course you're going for which is why your question should be more detailed and directed at the school via email or telephone. Only they can give you accurate figures for your course. Please try to do more research next time. Questions like that are usually ignored on the forum. Cheers

Yeah I have seen that already. I should email them then. Thanks for looking out.

I would advice that people should share their travel experience especially at the POE this will help make prospective traveller well knowledged and ready for their trip.

nothing special. just ensure u come with your letter of admission/acceptance, POE letter of intro and evidence of funds. although, I wasn't asked for evidence of funds oooo.

You know i was actually discussing this with a friend here today.. One thing I have observed over time here is most canadians are very lazy, they dont wanna go to school. All they know is smoking, coking parties and whatever. They have a responsive government that takes care of there mess to a large extent. Canada truly needs people because they are densely populated despite being the second largest country in the world by landmass. As much as Canada wants people, they are highly selective. They dont just want every tom dick and harry. They need raw talent, high flyers, first among equals. And once they see that prospect going by how strong your application is, TRV becomes easier, schooling becomes easier, you go just dey chop grants and fundings up and down. They will even pay your flights and hotel bills for conferences in other countries. As a matter of fact, you may not pay a dime till you have your Phd and live reasonably well without having to take any other job except you are bored. Having invested so much in your talent, do you think they gonna let you leave just like that? It is impossible!! I am with you on this!!
Mama team12 Congrats

This is not true, having studied and worked in most of the G8 countries. I would say Canadians are one the most educated. Right from their apprenticeship level to Post graduate, they don't joke with education. Also, their government is one of the least generous in terms of taking care of the citizen's mess. If you travel to Europe, then you would understand that calling Canadians lazy is an insult.

Because they smoke and party does not mean they don't study, what you experienced is just a culture shock. They party hard just the same way Nigerian student attend campus fellowship back in Nigeria. I have a friend that partied and drank like a fish, (he is from Novia scotia so no suprise) when I was studying in the EU, yet he finished with a First class in Physics and a distinction in Msc Aerospace, so don't be deceived.

Canada is densely populated only in the small provinces like PEI, NFL, NS, NB cos nobody really wants to live in those provinces cos of lack of many opportunities compared to the provinces with big cities. Also, if you look closely at the map of Canada, what percentage of the land is actually Inhabitable, most of the population tend to stay down south in the big cities close to the US border as it's warmer. People don't want to live in northern parts of provinces and what is the population of NWT, Yukon and Nunavut again Those territories are very close to the North pole.

The paragraph in italics is correct. Migration to Canada either as a student or PR becomes relatively easy if you are a high flying student/graduate. I am a living witness to a speedy PR process. There was nothing special in my application. I just submitted my application the usual way back then. The only thing I could point towards that worked in my favour would be good grades in academics and a score of 9 in Ielts. I heard it's rare to score a total band of 9. My advice to anyone coming to Canada would be to try as much as possible to graduate with good grades and all lines would fall into pleasant places.
