Well, we can't take away the fact that abusive parents exist. We hear about them everyday. This abuse starts from somewhere and most times, the other parent is usually aware.
So, as you give him the benefit of the doubt (of being a doting father), remember, he could also be an abusive one.

my dad stopped bathing me at about 10,11.the problem was he never washed my private and I didn't do it well either myself.

finally,the day my mum took turn to bath me she was asking my dad, why is there so much sand in her bum bum. my dad just didn't reply

it is just sad that everyone thinks a man bathing his daughter is abnormal. just because some psychos take advantage of that doesn't mean there are not men that do it for the sake of bonding with their kids.

as a matter of fact it is an insult to the good men out there.

I really don't understand the argument of those who are either in support of or are tolerant of this act.

If the girl is handicapped...then HER MOTHER or any other female should do the do. Her 'dear father' has no business in her bathroom activities.

BTW, when I was 10, I was already in a boarding school (and i been senior some guys for there o!) so na who wan start to bathe me then huh

My dad bathed my elder sister while she was still in the university.

Although, I must say, I believe a child of 12 is capable of bathing herself, I'd worry more first, that he's over pampering her, than that he has sexual intentions.
