I believe the paid advert should be effective if you can afford it. It is based on PPC (pay per click) model. However you have to start with a minimum of $100.
The free promo still works but not as effective as before. This is mainly due to the large influx of new books daily.

my oga, i uploaded a book and by the next day im checking. At the down side, its showing 257,000 somthing paid in kindle store. Does dat means im selling or it has sold or its just a format? and when i checkd sales report. Its still writing 0 unit sold. Please enlighten me.

If you haven't sold any copy then check the KU/KOLL units or KENP Read column. If you see some numbers there, that means some people have read some pages of your book. That is what gave it the Amazon Best Sellers Rank.

I know this question is not for me,amazon has changed their way of paying authors that had their books borrowed under the kindle unlimited or kindle owners lending library they now pay authors according to how many pages of their book that were read,the kenp read is used to measure how many pages of your book that someone or people have read......with this new system you cannot know how many times your book was read or borrowed but you can only know your total pages of book read......

I answered this question in a post in pg39, July 07.

That means if each of your books is 50 pages max you would need to have about four of them read through to make $1. This is discouraging as borrows made more sense.

they stopped the old system of paying a fixed fee per borrow because a lot of people started gaming the system by writing very short book of max 10pages since they know that they will still get the same pay rate as someone who wrote a novel..,some will even split their single small book into ten different 10pages book so that they can make more money.. ,amazon changed their old method because many authors were complaining that why should an author of a 400pages book collect the same fee per borrow with someone with a 20pages book ,infact people with very short books made more money with the old system because it was easy for them to meet the 10% mark for a borrow to be paid. ...right now I think authors with short stories will still continue to make money if their short books are Interesting,I discovered that some Ku subscribers love to read short stories so that they can read more books during their subscription period....how many books have you written?

Is been a very long journey for me but finally, I have successfully join the list of KDP! My very first book has being successfully published on Amazon. I want to specially thank our big bros -- MK8 for his good work here. Although I have not met him in person, but with the training he offers here on this thread, I was able to write, format and create cover that all when through during publishing without a single error. I'm so happy for everything.

I actually forgot to coppyscape the book before publishing it and I was scared it will be rejected for plagiarism issue. But after the 24hr was past, I when back to check and my book status was live. I then when ahead to copyscape the book to verify if it was plagiarism free. What I found was that the book actually has plagiarism issue but only in one section of the book. Surprisingly, it was published despite the fact that it has some issue with plagiarism. I'm not sure if I understand that?

Between, I will like you guys to take a look at this book and give some feedback if any.

about five months ago I still publish public domain books with no copyright but recently they have stopped allowing it...but u can try your luck sha....

Mk82 sir, pls I opt in for d amazon pay add 3days ago and my ad was approved, but I just checked my ad status and discovered it had been suspended bcs dey're having billing issues with my card.
