dfrost:lols. Thanks Alot! Dont even know which to begin with. I think I'd go with the Kill shot by Vince Flynn, then other Vince Flynn's books you sent earlier, before I Begin the Bourne series. Hahhahaha not sure that advice would work. I can be so addicted to good novels aswel. So if it's good, then pardon my addiction Have you read Murder in America by Roger Lane? |

dfrost:It's the History of Crime and Criminal Justice. Talks about "The Civil War to World War I, World War I to World War II, World War II to the Vietnam War". Yet to complete it though. I stopped reading it for a while. It's about 33MB, quite a large file for Yahoo. I've uploaded it on Dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a2af3r2v716kq1b/MURDER_IN_AMERICA.pdf?dl=0 |

dfrost:Matt Damon remains one of my favourite actors. I just enjoy watching his movies. Just two nights ago, I again watched the Bourne Ultimatum. I love those series too. But I've never even heard of Flynn hitherto. Is it possible to derive the same level of tension and suspense from a novel like we do from watching the movie? Good morning. |

dearpreye:Good morning dearpreye. Yes, so long as you are an avid reader and the author's flow can also be of great help. I don't spend more than 4 days on a Vince Flynn novel. It's even motivating me to order the hard copies to keep in my library. The best legacy we can give to our little ones are books. It helps shape their thinking, general view of life and approach to issues. Sometimes the reason why I don't comment on issues such as politics, racism and tribalism on NL. Behind this faceless forum are people who can actually shape the future of young ones instead of encouraging the "get rich or die trying" ideology. But we allow our dislike for one another to lead even adults to exchange curses with teens that should actually learn from them, then what will we pass to the next generation? Funny enough, I've never given thought to commenting on NL until I was bedridden since Tuesday I complimented on someone's signature and immediately he attacked my profile, commenting on my almost anonymity on NL. Probably he didn't get my drift the first time. I politely pointed out to him that it was a compliment, not an insult and credit to him, he apologized. Meanwhile someone, somewhere had noticed the remark (VickyRotex) and pointed out that it was a compliment. The positive side: I drew him out politely and he apologized. If we all read and acknowledge that circumstances can make people react differently to situations, then our community will be positive. That was I why accepted VickyRotex's invite to your thread because she seems reasonable and can read in-between the lines and she reads also. I think I'm here to stay ![]() Let me not bore you with my epistle . Hope you had a good night rest? |

I used to believe watching a movie was more suspense-filled than watching seeing same in a movie. I have not really read any thrilling book when it comes to covert ops. |

Mizzzbeee:Good to know youre fine. I've seen that book on countless occasions but for reasons beyond me I haven't read. A brother sent me a group of books weeks ago and I saw it amongst them. What's it all about? I'm currently reading Leading an inspired life.... |

dfrost:Books are indeed the best gift we can give our kids...and I've got enough of them for my kids....hard copies and soft.....My library is loaded with books covering a lot of topics........My kids will have no choice but read as I'll be leading the way..... Politics section is a crazy place.....I'm gradually limiting my time there....it can transform a lucifer into a devil. LOL! VickyRotex, apart from being an avid reader, also have eyes for the minutest of details as she narrated even the subtlest of moves from the 24 series. ... We're happy to have you around. Hope you're good now? My night was restful and great. Have a cool day. |

VickyRotex:Every situation of rancour has within it an opportunity for friendship. I guess dfrost is fully aware of that, and consequently leveraged on it. Have a great weekend too. |

dearpreye:You hit the mark. I had to leverage on that and honestly what he did was remarkable. Kudos to him. We all need understanding to conquer. Reason why I thread carefully on certain topics. |
| Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by Nobody: 9:31pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
dfrost:I agree. It certainly takes a lot of energy and maturity to apologise and mend fences when we are wrong. Arrogance is cheap; humility is hard, bro. |
| Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by dfrost: 9:37pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
dearpreye:Yes. Getting stronger by the day. Thanks to VickyRotex too. PS: permit me to digress a bit from the topic at hand. I perceived that the underlisted below can reason intelligently: MadCow1 dearpreye agabal23 VickyRotex If you know others that can reason intelligently, feel free to invite. Can any of you create a topic that will help our young ones to defend themselves against child molesters and how parents can protect their wards? |

Mizzzbeee:I've read it (hope I'm not barging into your conversation with dearpreye ). If not, permit me to drop the points that I got from the book. Waiting for your go ahead. Shalom. |

| Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by dfrost: 8:22am On Aug 10, 2015 |
Mizzzbeee:The book centered around former classmates converging to discuss about the progress and challenges they individually faced after leaving school. Basically some of them are not really progressing very well because of not adapting to CHANGE. One of them told the story of four characters: Ham, Hem (human-like characters), Sniffy and Scurry (mouse-like characters). The main plot focuses on Cheese (a representation of whatever that can make people happy). Sniffy and Scurry made changes to circumstances they found themselves due to instinct. Ham and Hem were resistant to change initially but Ham later moved on and found Cheese (happiness) again. Make I no finish the story for you (no vex). |

| Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by dfrost: 6:29pm On Aug 10, 2015 |
VickyRotex:Your are welcome. My weekend was okay because I was indoors all through and took time to surf NL and select topics of interest and I saw this particular topic. Not up to five posts but that was not mymajor concern because no matter how hard people try to suppress the truth or hide an important fact, it will surely come up and shine like the sun one day. I took my time to laugh myself almost to tears when I was readings topics on other threads. ![]() Seun has found a way of connecting the good, the bad and the ugly of society in Nigeria together in one forum. Brilliant idea. Politics section is something else If you want to go there, make sure you have emotional bulletproof and helmet to insults and counter-insults else, sorry na your matter. Kudos to him. |

dfrost: You're really gonna enjoy yourself here. Nairaland, like they say is "The Home of Fun" Different kinds of People. I do visit the Politics section once in a while, but sometimes, I prefer to reserve my comments, and at times, I'd spill out what's my mind, not minding how anyone reacts to it. I've had people quote me to spew gibberish words at me, but I dont reply such mentions. It's as simple as that. I ignore! Except you're reasonably trying to object my point by quoting me, then I reply you reasonably. If only majority of people here will ignore insults been spewed at them, I'm quite sure, decency will be restored. |
| Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by dfrost: 10:42pm On Aug 10, 2015 |
VickyRotex:I'm sure I will with like minds that share the same goal. You get mind sha. Sometimes the way they attack each other and curse, you wonder if there's a difference between them and those STEALators in the NA. For me, omo na run o . I won't comment unless like you said, if someone is reasonable enough and can approve or disprove a point without cursing. |
