I work in the construction industry here in Nigeria in an onshore location.
I work as a scaffolding labourer here in escravos terminal of chevron Nigeria limited.
I intend getting a certification by nxtweek in scaffolding supervisory course in dubai .
With the intention of looking for greener pasture in Dubai in this field.
Please what are my chances like? Since I don't have any Gulf or middle east experience. I will be spending a week in Dubai, where and where will I submit my CV for construction or rig jobs like my field in Dubai.

go to dubizzle.com I see lots of construction/scaffolding jobs there. why spend just one week. it would ve been better u spent atleast more dan two weeks so that u wouldn't be in a hurry so as to give potential employees time to contact u. Cos someone I knew went to dubai on a one month visa and wen he left dat was wen the prospective employer started calling him. and it was already too late.

I don't think there is a maximum cash restriction for travels to Dubai. However, it will be wise not to hold too much foreign currency so they don't suspect you of money laundering and also so you don't get robbed.

From my research, you can't get labour card without getting your employment visa as well as health card.it is when you get your employment visa and enter Dubai that you can do your medicals and when u pass medicals you can get health card, with the health card you can proceed to get labour card.
I stand to be corrected though.

I thought we already settled this. 2 companies cannot apply for the Visa of 1 person at the same time. MOL will definitely reject the second one and it will raise red flags. The second company will find out he is playing them and they might get pissed off. Tell you friend to be patient. If he doesn't trust the company asking for exit page he should go with the company that can process it while he is in Dubai. Has any of them uploaded a job offer on DHA Sheryan account??

I think generally it's 10k tops for any travel, regardless of the country.

Security work in Dubai is subjective and depends on the individual. I have a friend that works as Security at an Hotel and earns 1700aed as Salary plus free accommodation and transport. He is very happy with the Job, though to some its small especially as a gradute you will want to earn better, but there are others that will give anything to get this.
Note some security earn higher than this depending on the organization or company.

You will never get a great exchange rate at an ATM.
You are paying for the service.
Go into a bank direct and check.

My flight was supposed to be for 1.10pm on 30-07-2015, ethiopian airline, via abuja airport buh on reaching the airport 2hours before, I realized I hadn't d OTB status. D airline office @ d airport had to send a mail to dia office in dubai with my visa copy attached for d confirmation and OTB status and d reply never came until d next day, friday @ bout 1pm cos I got d mail. My flight was rescheduled for saturday 01-08-2015, same time buh I was made to pay extra 25550k. I got to d airport early, checked in my luggage, did all d formalities and headed for d immigration officers, it was an easy ride, no discussion @ all, just gave dem my passport and it was stamped, shikena. Spent less dan 3mins with dem. I had to proceed to boarding. Dat was it o, no shishi was given to any body. D trip was smooth but those ethiopian airline pipo com dey measure food and drink give man pikin o, imagine d rubbish!!! @justi4jesu and odas, dat was my experience.

You are lucky to have gotten an offer so soon.And the free zone stuff should be an added advantage when you would want to switch job as you won't need NOC.

Smh. You just fell prey to a very well known scam in the UAE. There are many of them in Sharjah and Ajman. After paying the deposit you will not get anything from them.

lemme point out they gave him 6-7 working days to hear from them of which you wont hear from them and they gave him a cv with interview tutorials so when he makes noise that they collected money from him they will say it was for interview tips and transport bla bla....maybe m wrong... lets wait n see the outcome

What is annoying is the fact that it is a very well known scam, so how could he have fallen for it ? I believe someone even spoke about it on the former thread a while back, and he is not a newcomer on this Dubai thread. He just dashed them that money.

My advice to u guys is that if u have better thing doing in naija...... forget about coming to work in dubai. Its better to work hard and come to dubai for holidays or buy goods. Work in dubai is nothing to write home about.
