It has been almost three months since the new president took office. One of the campaign highlights was his promise that he would declare his assets upon assuming office. However his language changed as soon as he became president. First, the APC said that Nigerians should use the FOI law to request for it but then rescinded that statement after the massive backlash from Nigerians. Declaring one's assets is not rocket science. I voted for Buhari and I demand accountability. We love Buhari but we are not fanatics. If he has nothing to hide and if he is deserving of the votes we gave him then he must declare his assets. We will NOT forget!

modelmike7:Please can you produce any evidence which indicates the president giving a statement concerning asset declaration in the near future. The little I know is the issue of ministerial appointments come September. So please enlighten us |

modelmike7:That is total bollocks. I have just read ur thread on "the truth about Buhari's asset declaration" and even u said he would declare it in 30 days (from June 1st) after it would have been verified by the CCB. We all know that he could have decided to declare it without even consulting the CCB. Let me repeat that i support this man and I voted for him. But what well-meaning Nugerians will not tolerate is any hint of hypocrisy from a man on whose shoulders so much is riding. No more sycophancy. It ruined the last administration. |

It is a huge insult to all good Nigerians that a so called reformist president who wss elected on the promise to tackle corruption on all fronts can not even pass the minimum test in the fight against corruption which is to publicly declare your assets. This is atrocious to put it mildly! Totally mind boggling. . It is scarry to imagine what Mr Buhari and his - Okon goes to school - look alike vee pee, Mr Osibade are hiding. If there are no blemish, why hide?? Buhari can not insst on his terms when fighting corruption! There are no two ways about it; you can only go to equity with clean hands. . Unless we now have a "buhari standard' characterised by iniquity when it comes to fighting corruption. |
