I graduated in 2014 with a first class degree in business studies. I am 22 and working as a sales assistant in a clothing store. It was meant to be a part-time job for extra income while studying, however, it feels like I am going to be stuck here forever.

I am looking for office roles, in particular admin roles or those to do with HR. I’ve been applying to jobs since I graduated – I either get no response or, once in a blue moon, I get an interview, but it doesn’t end well. Most places I have applied to say I am an introvert and they prefer someone who is more confident in communicating. Or they say I lack work experience.

What I don’t get is how am I able to get work experience when no one gives me a chance? Every job requires some sort of work experience, even internships and entry level jobs. I’ve been to local recruitment agencies, handed them my CV, but it’s been three months and still no reply. I am getting more demotivated and desperate, please can you give me some advice.

Volunteer if you can find one to meet your educational standard. It will add up as experience. Then try to be a gbaza queen

Dear op
First things first, work on your cv. Give it to a professional to have a look, use Google to search for cv samples. Make sure your cv is appealing to the eyes and standard. You will be surprise the kind of response u will get after that.
Also, improve on your interpersonal. Since you work in a clothing store, there should be a lot of customers you can meet and establish a relationship with. Don't let your personality trait be a hindrance. Whether you work in an office or not, u interpersonal skills will help u get the job done. So work on that.
Lastly, prepare well for interview. I'm an introvert but u won't be able to guess that during an interview. All u need to do is b open, smile and prepare well. Google more interview tips. And have self confidence. U will b surprised at the positive result u will get
Cheers

Getting a job is socialization
When you were supposed to be Socializing you were burying your nose in Paper. Also why study a course that doesn't suit your personality

Their's no impossibility in the dictionary of God, keep having faith, when I was still in the banking industry, my supervisor who is now a branch manager, graduated with third class, and he's a branch manager today.

So what is now holding a first class graduate from getting job, you never know what God has in stock for you.

That's why they said patience is virtue, and never stop believing in God.

Na wa o,u've said it all(they need a confident communicator)an introvert is a business owner not a job seeker,so my dear, work on ur temperament,u must upgrade o,first class no be sure ticket say u go get job, some 3rd class holders are more confident than you are and that is what present jobs need,so work on ur confidence,be confident be smart, dress cute and let elegance be part of u ,learn to speak with command. If you have any other Talent you can offer the world try building it up. I graduated with a very attractive result but you cant believe for the past few months have been doing nothing while those i taught in school are working doing fine, until i discoverd my singing abilities so right now I am no longer depending on a white colar job or whatever, have started training myself and believe me very soon i will start earning a living from it. So bro you not alone and if you think you must work with your attractive result keep praying God will do it for you .

I have a friend that graduated with a first class in Building and construction and his INTROVERTIVE grade is an A+. After 2yrs Of unproductive Job search he volunteered to work in MOTHER CAT (a construction company) with No pay @ all. He put in all his Best in it. It was like a continuation of His degree. His colleagues at the office started to giv him money as gift for his diligence eventho he was paid nothing he never complained. After 2 year d company retained him and He's now a Big guy.

1) He gat a Job
2) He added experience to his CV
3 connections.

You may go for a certificate program or volunteer to work somewhere

Mehn u gotta stop looking @ d Money and work on urself
