wrong 3+3*3=18 not 12 d correct and is 18

I saw the below equation on First Bank BBM channel and what i saw with great dismay was the poor answers people were writing. Seriously our arithmetical knowledge needs to be awaken because i can't see a nation developing with poor analytical skills especially with simple equation.

I wonder why someone who correctly fill the acronym BODMAS and still arrive at 12. Do we really understand the operational procedures of BODMAS? If so, we are expected to treat all Brackets bfor Off, all Divisions after Off, all Multiplications (3*3= 9, hence new equation is 3+9 - 3+3) after Divisions and all Additions (3+9) - (3+3) after Multipling and then Substrctn. So ladies and gentlemen, what is our final answer?

Ur mistake is adding a bracket after the minus sign. It alters the value. -3, +3 or any number with a sign in front of it is called a directed number. -3+3=0. Answer is 12.

12 is the correct ans by using BODMAS. Try using your scientific calculator to solve it too.

(3+3)*3-(3+3)=12

12 because B no bracket O no of D no division M 3 * 3 = 9. Hence it becomes 3+9-3+3. A 3+9+3=15. Hence it becomes 15-3. S=> 15-3 = 12

Any answer contrary to this is wrong by all standard.

I couldn't believe my eye seeing this useless post stressed to it 9th page!! shocked

I was left with no option than to write it out for Abdul( my sibling) in basic 5 to solve this simplest arithmetic for me.. Abdul gave 12 as the answer. The beautiful God saves him. I would have knocked hell out of his head... and that was exactly how I felt and I'm still feeling; using hammer on the useless and st*pid head on this thread giving answers other than 12....
Where did all the junk-head here obtained their destined-for-rat-to-Feed-on Certificate huh

If your answer isn't 12, I bet you, your generation faced extinction looooong time ago.... !! I have a great hope for my generation!! And placed a greater hope on Abdul's generation.

I don't give a damn what the op will give as his answer.... who knows, he might also be in the league of the confused clueless personalities here...

Answer: 12
3+(3 x 3) - 3 + 3 = ?
As we know that we have to Follow the order of operations and we can solve this by using D.M.A.S Rule.
So by following this rule
First we will solve multiplication given in the given question. So (3 x 3 = 9)
Equation becomes 3 + 9 - 3 + 3
Then we will solve the rest of equation from left to right
so 12 - 3 + 3 = 12

All this minus 6 and +6 answers is as a result of double promotion from primary 4 to jss1.
they won't learn d basis of Arithmetic.

BODMAS? Yes but there is no Bracket or Of or Division so you are left with MAS - do the multiplication first then the addition and subtraction follows and you get 12

i am a bit confused where do y'all get brackets from ? they must be dashing them out in your villages .. the damn question hasn't got brackets so why add them? BODMAS makes provision for solutions with(out) brackets. solve the damn thing get your 12 and jog on!!
