Undergrad or postgraduate?

Undergrad tuition is contigent on a number of factors but If you are going for postgrad, with the right profile, you may not even have to pay a dime.

Let us know your profile and your choice location of study and you will get the best advice.

Pls i need help on this...email-anosikwaazuka@rocketmail.com

Thanks @Onyeoma3. Yes, so true @ the person who insulted me without restrain over several paragraphs -- I was pretty surprised by it given that I had actually given the person the direct way to answer his person. I figured there was no point getting angry grin but I didn't know anyone noticed the abusive post since no one commented on it. I think one of the moderators deleted it (including my short civil response to it) less than an hour after it was posted. I still remember the moniker of the insulter though, but its ok smiley I decided I wouldn't let anyone poison my spirit or the spirit of the thread. Thank you once again for the congratulations.

PS: Where in Canada are you? I tried to look through your old posts but there are a lot! smiley You have been super helpful on this thread for so long, wow.

You're welcome bro, I dey here kamkpe ooo... No leave no transfer as na only me don go Canada for my family. I always like to work and plan well ahead of the future. At least, if any member of my family or friend wants to apply for TRV tomorrow, either for study of visiting (which is certain though) or future wifey wanna join me wink, I'll comfortably help the person without any assistance from anywhere. All I need is to look up for 2 major posts here. Chrigo's post on part 5 page 72 (one of the pages I can never forget on this thread, lolz) and Richcasey's wonderful links.

That reminds me, brace up bro @Richcasey, I read about your delay few pages back, you have done a wonderful job here and deserve the best. Give it a shot one more time, I believe you'll get it this time.

I'm presently in a small city in Ontario called Kingston where nairalanders have refused to come to grin.

How did you get the gcms file? It is annoying because the reason for refusal doesnt hold water at all

The first I used a company that charged me 30cad because my brother is always forming busy.
But I am hoping he has the time to help me order it this time around.

If you are considering reapplication , then I suggest you get a masters admission.
That was our undoing and unfortunately what ever policy that brought about that took effect this Fall. It's really sad.

Affordability is subjective. I'm going to Ottawa. You should take a look at University of Manitoba and Memorial University of Newfoundland for cheap schools.

Bro
I think I want to go into the same fight now.
A friend of Mine said if you have a low gpa as a Nigerian it's better if you do a wes evaluation of ur transcript and have it.
He said the wes evaluation could give you up to 3/4 on canadian scale.

I dnt knw how true but I will sure find out.

So you just send them a copy of the WES evaluation?
But most of them request that your transcript be sent directly to them.
I never really applied for MSc because I valued technical skills more than theories plus colleges take scanned copies of transcripts. I hate going back to my disorganized school to request for transcript.

You are welcome, champ!
By the way, this was the same exact reason my sister was refused on her last application (well, two "insufficient funds" reasons were ticked even with more than sufficient funds in the sponsor's account). It is extremely annoying. I wonder why they didn't just ask her to bring more evidence.

I'm beginning to suspect that CIC would rather reject applicants with almost-perfect (but not perfect) applications because to reapply the applicant will pay a fresh application fee thus enriching CIC's pockets. This is a perverse incentive, and it is maddening and unfair. The "denials after medicals" is another unfair and unethical trend. E go beta.

SOJ, pls are you very certain I can use a sponsor with statement of account in the US? Is there anyone you know who did that and got TRV? There's been lots of issues on that topic, peeps saying funds available for one's study/trip must either be in the applicant's country of residence (which in my case is Nigeria) or destination (Canada). I just want to be 100% sure this is not valid or binding for Canada visa applications. Thanks

Nah.. maybe a 2point.
Could go to like 2.7 or 2.8 or thereabouts (just a rough estimate, it may be higher or lower) but i think the last 2 years are the most important for admission so you can do a course by course evaluation if you like, it costs abit extra though but for mine, some Cs changed to Bs cos they use the score for each course and reevaluate each of them

Our fellow Nigerians are the ones closing the door on genuine students and this really pains.

The rate at which Nigerians with study visa defer admission to January just to work some more is alarming and colleges have called attention of CIC to it.

Personally I fully support the removal of work permit for students while they study if that will lessen their strong stance in issuing study visa.

But I fully support the postgraduate work permit program which I feel should be upheld.
A student that have studied fully has the right to stay back and work to either get experience or make some money.

Nigerians are not the only people who do this. Are you trying to justify their bias towards Nigerians? What will you do if you get to Canada 2 weeks after your resumption date?

Generally speaking,Canada need us more than we need them. A country with just less than 40 million people need millions of people at a very quick rate. In few years time when most of their workers retire, there are few replacements for them. They barely have enough manpower for their military -a paltry 119,000 military personnel. They also have one of the most severe weather conditions in the world.

I know they are trying to be careful in just letting anyone into their country but then they cant get it all perfect. The U.S.A is the most powerful country because of the contributions of the immigrants who constitute more than 50% of their total population. Canada need to toe this line or they will be short of man power in the nearest future.

There are different kinds of evaluation. Some are more detailed than others.
A course by course evaluation is more expensive than normal evaluation
Some of the courses i got an B in chabged to B+
Some courses i had a C in changed to B
I had a couple of Ds in uni but they changed to Cs in the coursebycourse evaluation. So if the school sees it that way, it may work in your favour

I think I spent about to $500 in total
You can save your school multiple transcript money such that you can order one transcript for wes and when evaluation is done, they can send your transcripts and evaluation result to the school so you won't need to send another transcript by post to the school
