It is predictably true that more jobs will be lost due to stagnation in the economic policies.

Stopping 41 items from accessing the bank forex market indirectly leads to lay-off.
Sacking of 1000 staff of NNPC means extra 1 house-help and 1 driver will be sacked by each staff of NNPC fired, therefore 3,000 people goes back to labour market. This is not Economics, this is common-sense. Did Federal Government use common-sense. The answer is NO, Federal Government headed by Buhari has no common-sense, needless to say they can use one.

I think the National Bureau of Statistics is economical with the truth. Buhari has caused more than 5000 job loss using my hypothesis, and zero employment.

Change is constant, even Backward Change is Change.

If APC reallly meant business,I believe by now we should be talking about thousands of jobs being created daily going by APC's campaign promises.Am I the only one seeing failure already on the part of APC of all the noise they made before assuming power?

Silly illiterates!

This news has been reported here before and we pointed out your idiocy then.

1st, second quarter represents April, May and June.

Jona was in charge for the greater part of that quarter (two of three months).

Lastly, the report only tells a slow down in job creation in comparison with previous performance. It's clearly not that there have been job losses as some half baked here are making it seem.

More importantly, a slow down in job creation is a feature of all new governments as they use their first few months to chart a new direction for their regime. The fact that Nigeria was practically in comatose makes our own case worse.

How anyone would think Bubu who couldn't create a job for himself (since 1985) would provide one for them is beyond me.

What you don't realize is that the information is totally inaccurate. For you to have accurate variables, you need information. We all know how much Nigeria sucks in that regard. The large part of the statistics is based of of civil service jobs and large to average sized companies. What about the millions of Nigerians who engage in private business as sole source of income but don't pay tax. Those individuals are undocumented and there is no way the government can add them to their data in other to get true output. Their findings could be higher or lower, there is no way to know.
Re: Nigeria’s New Job Creation Decreased By 69.9 Percent by Nobody: 6:01pm On Aug 22, 2015
Beyond Buhari and GEJ....there is only one way to generate jobs....and that is by getting Nigeria off oil.

That way....we would generate proper and sustainable jobs that would not be just temporary.

So....Buhari.....get us off oil please....or we look for someone who will by 2019. Nigeria cannot remain a stagnant overimporter.

Modified....from Wikipedia...Dutch disease

Also, volatility in the price of natural resources, and thus the real exchange rate, limits investment by private firms, because firms will not invest if they are not sure what the future economic conditions will be. Commodity exports such as raw materials, drive up the value of the currency. This is what leads to the lack of competition in the other sectors of the economy. The extraction of natural resources is also extremely capital intensive, resulting in few new jobs being created.

And we know the reason for the forex restrictions.....falling oil prices.

Once oil prices fall....central bank governors hoard dollars so as to keep the value of the local currency up.

Instead of blaming Buhari....watch him....and see if he gets our economy diversified instead of talking about it. And the diversification must be into industrial development....not exporting resources.(Which is why we are here in the first place).

Nigeria is dutch diseased.....we need to face that fact.
