house. when is application opening for next yrs admission? how do I register for the ielts exam? I finished with a cgpa of 2.88 in architecture. do I av a good chance? Im hoping to start my masters degree program in Germany next year. how do I go about this pls (I will appreciate a step-by-step procedure)? thanks in advance.
Your chances of gaining admission is slim but your can boost it by registering for language test, applying to schools that are under uni- assist and writing a very good motivation letter . Work experiences too may help.

On my rejection letter the reason was not specif[ied]

For me, I think it's quite clear.

MSc in Life Science Economics and Policy does not follow BSc (ED) in Agricultural Production and Renewable Resources.

It's like studying Mechanical Engineering as an undergraduate and then going on to study Industrial Chemistry as a postgraduate.

Pretty suspicious.

I guess he did a poor job linking the two during his interview. I have seen people get visas for more contrasting studies from their first degrees than this.

The combination is not compatible in anyway , German university use to grant admission to non compatible courses if the course is non consecutive, you gain admission based on the experience you have on the course after your first degree, so during the interview at the embassy,if the person is mentioning work experience that is not in line with the masters course,it shows that the person don't know what he is doing thereby leading to visa denial

I don't think he had an interview (or perhaps it was a very short one). He was here on this thread after his visa appointment and he mentioned how easy the visa processing is in Dubai as opposed to Nigeria.

Perhaps the detailed interview that we do here in Nigeria is for our own good smiley

Though your first class is a great added advantage but it's not an automatic ticket for admission, what really matters is your motivation letter because it's speaks more than your result

Thanks Oladunwo and Hollyatan for the reply.

@Hollyatan, which course are u admitted for? and when exactly are you going?

@Oladunwo, R u in university of Oldenburg too?

I applied for a postgraduate programme in renewable Energy under the DAAD scholarship this month and Oldenburg told me they will inform me about the result in December. Apart from good result tho (1st), i wrote a good motivation letter and research proposal. I just hope it works out by God grace.

I dont know if Nigerians really get the DAAD scholarship cause have not seen anyone, but there should be some?

YES WE DO. IT IS A VERY LEGIT WAY OF GETTING TO GERMANY. IT IS JUST THAT
1) PEEPS AINT REALLY QUALIFIED (LACK OF 1ST CLASS+HIGH 2:1)
2) THE FEW QUALIFIED PEEPS ARE EITHER UNINFORMED OR MISINFORMED. (THEY BELIEVE ONE MUST RETURN TO HOME COUNTRY AFTER THE PROG., WHICH AINT TRUE, HENCE THEY OPT FOR THE BLOCK ACC/SPONSORSHIP ROUTE).
YOU SHALL TESTITY.

PS: Nevermind the CAPS.

If your personal savings will cover the 2yrs, then put it (then it will make more sense to fund your account with about 15k). But I seriously doubt that had to do with your rejection.

Like has been said, we get interviewed here in Nigeria and if you were applying from here, you'd almost definitely have been asked for the relationship between your previous program and your intended program. Since there's something like a "visa motivation letter" over there, I believe this is where you ought to try your best to convincingly link both programs or at least, link your present job to your intended program.

Good luck.

If you still need a filled application form, go thru Eke40seven's posts. He had uploaded a copy some weeks back.

My personal opinion, which may or may not be correct

For compatibility, I don't agree with you one bit. Do you think the group of professors who gathered to grant him admission are block heads? They checked his transcripts and motivation and agreed to grant him admission without prior qualifications or merit?
Seek4yemi1, the issue of compatibility is not the question here, rather, it could be your inability to link them. Even as that, we could only be guessing because the reasons are not spelled out. It could have been better you did it from here, a friend travelled down from Malaysia to do his because of the reports he heard over there.
My Bsc and Msc courses in all the schools I got are quite off, I did my research and linked it well in such a way that the VO had no choice but to nod like an agama lizard as I was connecting the links she couldn't find initially.
It behoves on you to do that if that was the reason.
