Nigeria, I have a diploma in maritime environmental studies. I'd love an opportunity to gain a practical experience in a maritime sector.

Okay what u need is a research vessel to gain experience, else u can go to nimasa and seek placement as an IT student, but make sure u have some stcw documents that can give you an edge. I am a mariner but my documentation is not accepted in Nigeria so I will have to upgrade.

But why isn't ur documentation accepted here? Don't u think if might also apply to my case if I see job abroad since there are no cruise lines in Nig. Besides I have chnged my mine, I no longer want 2 work onboard vessel but as an environmenralist in a maritime or pollution coy preferably abroad.

Mine is an American documents issued by coast guard, and on it it's clearly stated that am a captain of any boat under 100,000 gross tonnage but within United States waters only, for me to work in Nigeria in such capacity, I will have take one more course of study. In your case looking for placement as research student will be a lot more easier than looking for a job.

Well, so many reasons, that most won't understand but me, but one big one is that I will like to work as a u.s staff of U.S. company in Nigeria but am not really there yet. Research work depend on your mission and the type of vessel u choose and also availability of space onboard and the scope of the research vessel
