Buhari, Colonel Yakubu Bako has
condemned insinuations that the
president’s appointments favoured only the
North, saying Southerners are holding about
30 key positions in the present federal
government.
According to Leadership, Bako stated at an
interview session in Kano that the president has
been taking his time to appoint qualified and
able Nigerians based on confidence, honesty,
dedication to duty and acceptance of
responsibility, irrespective of their regional
identities.
He said that he had read in some national dailies
that there is lopsidedness in Buhari’s
appointments suggesting that he is favouring the
Northern region leaving out the South.
Bako noted that southerners holding key
financial appointments under the present
federal government are the governor of the
Central Bank of Nigeria, group managing
director of Nigeria National Petroleum
Corporation, chairman, Federal Inland Revenue,
chairman, revenue mobilisation and fiscal
commission, the director general of bureau of
public procurement and the chief executive
officer of Nigerian Stock Exchange.

but y do u care sooooo much where ur leaders come frm! Frm where does such myopic mentality emanate frm! If u re questioning d CV of these appointees I will knw u ve a point! I careless whre appointees come frm provided they can do d job! If appontment base on tribe is d solution to our commplex problems Nija wud be better than Dubai, since all our govenors, LG chairmen and couselors re all frm our various villages! We need a diff approach to solve our peculiar problems! A leader must knw wen not to follow d rules!
