Hi guys,

Maybe not the best place for this question, but here I go.

A month ago I received a notice that my visa (Tier 2 - General) was refused because the ECO did not accept my English Language certificate.
I have a Certificate in Advanced English, dated 16/05/2006, which according to ECO expired in 2008.

On gov.uk website I found a table (Secure English Language Tests - Transitional) according to which the Certificate in Advanced English has no expiry and can be used in all applications until 5th November (if the test has been taken on or before 5th April 2015). I also submitted all the supporting documents (certificate, statement of results, candidate ID number and candidate's secret number), so I am positive that I am on the right side here.

Two weeks ago I submitted the Administrative Review request and now I am waiting for a response.

What you guys think my chances are to have the decision overturned and do they really respond within 28 days?

Thanks.

Ok...truth is I sent the supporting documents to this address last week Monday which was August 24 and till now it hasn't been received because i have been tracking it. I always track it and all it says is your item has reached its POBOX and its awaiting collection/ delivery. That's the message I have been getting since last week. Pls how long does it take them to pick up the documents from their POBOX? Coz I don't know what to do next. I did my biometrics since and am worried.

Thanks

I got this from ukba two days back(same day as my bday): The decision to refuse your visa application has been overturned and our office is now ready to issue you a UK Visa. To complete this process we require that you submit your passport to our office at:

International Operations & Visas
Sheffield Visa Section
Vulcan House Iron, 4th Floor
6 Millsands
Sheffield
S3 8NU

It is recommended that an international courier is used to submit your passport.

Justwise thanks so much for those mails,God bless you. I pray it wont take so long to get my passport back after fighting settlement visa appeal since Oct 2014.

Congratulations! Sorry for posting this late

That may look suspicious because every genuine company in the UK pays salary through the bank and post the payslip to the employee or email it. Cash in hand jobs are illegal and a way of avoiding national insurance and tax payment

The company may be genuine but their activities are illegal, cash in hand payments is way of avoiding a lot of things and it's illegal. Students working too many hours go for cash inhand, illegal immigrants go for cash inhand, job seekers allowance claimers go for cash inhand, company trying to avoid paying tax pay their staff cash inhand, the list is endless. A company that pays cash inhand has something to hide.

BACS is the only approved means of salary payment. Any company that pays cash, is constituting an ILLEGAL activity.
Paying your cash - in - hand salary into a bank account, does not and would not equate BACS salary payment.
You should actually be a whistle-blower against this company.
NB: The chances of getting this visa, considering your above question in % terms is - 0%/100!!

Put plain and simple. It is an illegal means of salary payment.
Why would you think a visa request would be granted, based on an illegal means of salary payment?
Use your first refused application has a precedent!!!

Looks like an oversight of the ECO on this occasion. Since this is the only reason and you submitted evidence stating that the new ruling does not apply to your case, I don't see why they would not overturn the decision.

In terms of how long it takes really depends on their workload. If you haven't heard anything after 28 working days then just get in touch with the office where you submitted the administration request.

Hello everyone,
I got my determination letter on the 1st of August 2015, since them no news from them, so my wife and I decided to send out emails to visasheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and also ukvi-international.faq-help.com. We did not receive any thing from Sheffield, but I got this email from the international email address yesterday:
"
"We have not received our copy of appeal determination. On receipt the
timescale is 8 weeks to conclude the case.'"

Are they right or I should ignore them, why I am not getting any reply from Sheffield office? The email we send to Sheffield office we scanned the determination letter and send it with the email. How long the process normally takes. Mine is spouse settlement visa.
Thanks,
Se

I applied last year june, got refused in sept. Submitted appeal form in oct 2014,husby appeared in court in March 2015,got determination letter in june, and ukba sent in call letter on my bday(aug 27 2015). I submitted my passport to sheffield two days after call letter.

Got a mail today ,to pick up my passport in like 3-5days time.

I pray God in His infinite mercy attend to everybody going through appeal process in Jesus name.

Appeal is time consuming and could be frustrating.
