iblawi:We are building our infrastructure out of our own pocket and from the money we get from our precious minerals. Greece does not have as much minerals we have. Do you even forget that we have the largest minearal resource in the world that can be mined until Jesus comes. Our debts can always be paid from what we have underneath our rich soil. |

FighterPilot:No am not. I told you are mixing things up cos even taxes are collected from NNPC on oil revenues. They collect taxes on everything but not the actual revenue. Even Nigerian custom service pay taxes before declaring profit of almost N1 trillion. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 8:51am On Sep 08, 2015 |
iblawi:Don't ever bring me a source and still argue with it because it is clearly stated that your revenues included your oil profit as well. From the same source and I quote. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the revenue was derived from petroleum profit and non-oil taxes, including income tax, gas income, capital gain tax, stamp duty and Value Added Tax (VAT). |

FighterPilot:Within the next few years, the FIRS alone is gonna be generating over $100 billion; once tax evasion is eradicated and all companies are audited and properly integrated into national database. The current government has already ordered full audit and integration of all the LSMEs in the country.Every person and company is going to have a unique TIN{Tax Identification Number},it would be almost impossible to bank, conduct transactions and recieve/make payment without a TIN and tax reciept. By 2018,Nigeria will generate the whole of SA national fiscal budget through our taxing system alone!!,add that to the money generated through customs, royalties, international trade, and crude export{which is set to increase by $50 billion by 2017},and we will literarily be swimming in cash!!. |

lezz:Nope, it was never our right, that's what the media write about when they refer to the Africa's economic power. However, I don't see that as any appraisal at all since there many people who find it hard to make ends meet in that huge GDP. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:08am On Sep 08, 2015 |
EVarn:I wish you all the luck in your endeavours then in your game of playing catch up with SA. The question is SA has 50 million people while Nigeria has 180 million people. Have you also checked on that? |

FighterPilot:lol,Illiteracy is a terminal disease!. so in your village, petroleum profit = crude oil revenue?! I'm shocked at the level of ignorance you southies are always fond of displaying. Petroleum profit simply means the tax collected from petrochemical companies, refineries, crude cargo cooperations, liquified gas plants and oil well installations. This is quite very different from crude oil revenue which is primarily derived from gross export of crude oil and gas. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EVarn(m): 9:25am On Sep 08, 2015 |
FighterPilot:We will be generating almost twice your fiscal budget by 2018 due to new government policies. I think that amount of money is quite sufficient to cater for our huge population and still have enough left to store. |

EVarn:Hehehebenee… petroleum is a general term that denotes hydrocarbons including crude oil. My dear friend. http://www.aapg.org/about/petroleum-geology/petroleum-through-time/what-is-petroleum |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:47am On Sep 08, 2015 |
So the illiterate Evan ran away with his claim of "petroleum is not a crude oil" claim. Let him read further to educate himself. http://www.eschooltoday.com/energy/non-renewable-energy/what-is-petroleum.html |

FighterPilot:Anytime you come under fire for displaying ignorance, you immediately resort to using phrases like "my friend" or "my dear friend"; your half-baked attempts at psycological subterfuge will not work!. Yes,petroleum is a general term use to collectively categorize crude oil,gas and their products. But when talking about petroleum profit,it refers to total tax revenue generated from the oil and gas sector, including the NNPC. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:55am On Sep 08, 2015 |
EVarn:Another word for crude oil is simply petroleum and I stand to correct you. |

FighterPilot:You're the most unequal country in the world. You ain't _shit!. Your GDP fall is the beginning of you demise into insignificance and oblivion. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 10:05am On Sep 08, 2015 |
lezz:You are too obsessed with GDP messiah and thinks that it takes you to heaven. Zimbabwe with GDP downgraded to only $3 billion is still alive and kicking and they are not dying. Today, their growth is sky rocketing again after so many debacles. You are treating GDP as if is a fear factor. |

Henry120:Henry120 continues with double standards and strawman arguments You fool, you only have a single Pilot who can land at sea, this is somalia, burundi, malawi standard 1. "apparently" 2. How many Nigerian pilots can land at sea? Fact : SAAF cannot perform it's basic duty of protecting the SA air space With 14 Gripen and 26 Hawk operational inbound say we are in a better position to do so than you But your position is worse: Nigeria has an Air Force with few functional aircraft. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is largely irrelevant. - global security Fact : The hopeless SAAF is begging for pilots from commercial airlines to fly it's assets as the current crop of pilots are to dull to fly the Gripen, Hawk , Puma Helicopter and every other asset This is simply a complete and utter lie and is not at all what the article says It shows your desperation to find stuff to criticse us over when you have to resort to MAKING THINGS UP Fact : only 1 SAAF pilot is qualified to land at sea. 1. "apparently" 2. How many do you have? 3. Killer blow: refer to your own thread and see Oryx and Lynx landing on vessels during recent operations Fact : SAAF only has 9 Gripen Pilots and none of them are combat qualified. You have been saying this for months - but you can't provide any proof to substantiate it Fact : the SAAF is an inherently useless force. Nigeria has an Air Force with few functional aircraft. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is largely irrelevant. As of 2009, most of its fleets were grounded and its training institutions were constrained with shortages of technical skills such as instructors and institutional facilities Depot Maintenance (PDM) with time, and not by hours flown, because they are most of the time grounded for unserviceability .- global security Yes again you apply 1st world standards to us but fail to apply them to yourselves Your airforce is a joke, your constant attacks on the SAAF is nothing more than the projection of your own insecurities |

FighterPilot:What are you saying? FIRS don't sell oil. They only collect taxes, they sell nothing. NNPC generate far more than what FIRS generate. Do I have to educate you on tax collet? |

Patchesagain:South Africa has only 6 pilot for Gripen not 9. They are even considering selling them. Four months after admitting that 12 of its 26 Gripen jet fighters had been placed in storage because they were too expensive to operate and there were not enough qualified pilots to fly them, South African officials admitted that the maintenance contracts for all the Gripens had expired in April. That made long term use of the Gripens dangerous. This contract was with a reliable, and expensive, South African firm (Denel). The maintenance contracts pay for ongoing support for the aircraft to include updates and warnings on problems other users have encountered as well as access to manufacturer engineers and maintenance experts. Aircraft become more dangerous to operate (if they operate at all) without regular maintenance and these maintenance contracts are a critical part of that. Some South African politicians are now calling for the Gripens to be sold, as there is not likely to be sufficient money to operate them and retain qualified pilots. Currently only about half of the remaining 14 Gripens are flyable and there are only six qualified Gripen pilots. Corruption, shrinking defense budgets, and political pressure to find more black combat pilots and technical personnel has led to the South African Air Force having fewer operational aircraft. All this has been going on for over a decade. For example, back in 2009, the South African Air Force stopped automatically releasing data on how many hours combat pilots flew for training. When the numbers were finally obtained, it was discovered that in 2008, fighter pilots were in the air for 325 hours (less than two hours a month per pilot). In contrast, pilots on VIP flights (carrying politicians and government officials) were up there 1,932 hours. There are about fifty transports and 80 helicopters in the air force at the time, and that number has continued to shrink. https://www.strategypage.com/dls/articles/South-Africa-Loses-Use-Of-Its-new-Gripens-8-18-2013.asp You should post your own source. Nigerian airforce is far better than your SAAF. |

Nigeria's FIRS which is reportedly has nothing to do with oil revenues reports about Nigeria's shrinking revenues because of falling oil prices. http://www.channelstv.com/2015/07/02/nigerias-revenue-dipped-as-oil-sales-dropped-firs-boss/ |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 10:35am On Sep 08, 2015 |
iblawi:I can give you the source which will completely debunk those false reports. Yes is true back in 2010 when we first received our first batch of gripens we had only 6 gripen pilots who were trained in Sweden and within a short space of time the same 6 pilots produced three more locally trained gripen pilots. Since, then SAAF was training gripen pilots who graduated from the hawks system to gripen platform. |

FighterPilot:What does the link have to do with FIRS collecting oil revenues. There major companies didn't sell means they can't pay tax for what they did not sell. If the companies were paying tax of N3 from N10 they generate, will they still pay tax of N3 when they generate N4? This is simple logic. Wise up. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by iblawi(m): 10:46am On Sep 08, 2015 |
FighterPilot:Lie this is 2013 report. I can give you more than 4 links on the pathetic state of your air force. Don't try to deny facts. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 10:46am On Sep 08, 2015 |
iblawi:One of weaknesses of Igbos is reading and analysing the facts. The FIRS is worried that it might not reach the target as usual from collection of oil revenues. |
