One recycling plant was commissioned at Amaobia 5 to 6 months ago by Anambra govt in partner with UN. I don't how things are going there now, but it is too small to handle the waste from Awka not to talk about Onitsha!.

I hope the plant is very big....because there are various things that could be done to waste that generates lots of money.......

The retail revolution, online shopping, and personal access to imported goods due to everyone having more connections abroad is going to make buying it for 'middle men', or importers, nonsensical in the near future. Anyone that's serious about staying in business and is currently importing and selling isn't going to making it. Whatever you're selling, find a way to make it. If it's cards that's harder but duplicating bags, shoes, toys, electronics, furniture etc isn't difficult.

FORMER governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige formally announced the death of his aged father, Ozo Akunnia Pius Okonkwo Ngige on Wednesday. A statement released by the family of the former head of Umu Ngige clan of Alor town in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state stated that he died on Friday, September 4th at the ripe age of 105. The statement signed by Senator Ngige on behalf of the family, noted that funeral arrangements of the burial will be announced at a later date. The late senior Ngige was born in 1910 in Alor and started his life career as an Assistant Foreman Building (carpentry), rising to the post of supervisor in the then Public Works of Eastern Region Colonial Government. Late PA Ngige was in the team that worked with the colonial masters to build health centres under the One Health Centre Per Village Scheme, especially in the old Onitsha province of Eastern Region. In a condolence message to the family, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Umeh urged the family to take consolation in the fact that their father lived long enough to witness the giant achievements of his children in their various careers. ASWAMA to deploy 4 new sweeping machines


In a bid to enhance the cleanliness of the environment, the Anambra State Waste Management Agency, ASWAMA, will deploy its four newly acquired sweeping machines to major streets in urban centres and their suburbs.
The Managing Director of ASWAMA, Mr Philip Chinwuba, disclosed this while featuring in the ABS Television programme, FACE THE PRESS.
Mr Chinwuba explained that cleanliness of Anambra State would compliment Governor Willie Obiano’s security initiative.
He noted that it would not be nice for foreign investors who are currently taking advantage of the prevailing safe and peaceful environment of the state to be confronted by unhygienic surroundings.
The ASWAMA boss added that agreements have been reached with certain investors to commence large scale industrial conversion of waste to wealth next year.
Mr Chinwuba equally appealed to the citizenry to cooperate with ASWAMA operatives in waste disposal and payment of statutory levies.
