This is it:

1. Generate a Trust Fund

The active accounts here on NL will soon hit 1,500,000. Why do we need to wait for the government to create jobs for our younger ones when we can secure 50% of the future for them. If you and I and others start donating just a meagre NGN10 (ten naira) per month, we will end up generating close to 15 million in a month. Now comes the best part.

2. Establish Industries

The trust fund will be used to establish industries in each state of the federation such that serving corp members will be trained in various fields and they do not need to pay a dime to learn from the industries. They in turn will acquire skills and also contribute to the growth of the trust funds. Note that apart from the users on NL (I used NL because this is where we have met like-minded individuals), it will also spread to corporate firms/organisations/individuals contributing to the Trust Fund.

Training will also extend to those that do not have the privilege of going to school ( it's not easy to be educated, so we should not stigmatise those that didn't go to school or have the means to further their education).

3. The Big Picture

The Trust Fund will have succeeded, if managed well, in creating 12 industries every year that will generate funds and train people too.

dfrost, when first you mailed me about this project, I took less than 5 seconds to shove it aside in my mind. For all intents and purposes, I never knew you had all perfectly played out already in your beautiful mind.

Kudos for this great initiative. It's my deepest desire to see it affect thousands. Never underestimate an IDEA!

It's a lovely known fact that no matter how laudable and noble our dreams may be, they'll remain just dreams if we don't ACT. Action is the bridge that connects between our dreams and our realities.

Lest see how this pans out. At last I'm fully subscribed into this brilliant idea. I know those who have come to realise the invaluable place skills hold in our financial today and tomorrow, won't only just stop by to see this thread, but they shall surely be a part of it.

Our degrees indeed are no longer any guarantee for our success and fulfilment in life. There are thousands of degree holders roaming the streets in search of that mega paying dream job when in reality some skills can provide them with the needed money while they keep searching for the dream job. Everyone won't get that mega job but everyone must meet their basic and legitimate needs of food, clothing and shelter.

The future belongs to skills. This they didn't tell us in the school. In this day and age, having only a degree isn't sufficient; we must add some very relevant skills to the mix.


It's time also for us to think more about giving others a job. When Teempakguy said YOU OWE THE WORLD A JOB, he was talking to all of us. Let's seek ways to put food on the tables of a few.

I keep getting the feeling that something isn't quite in place yet for this idea to be successful.

Maybe it's because I don't have a blackberry account and I'm therefore biased.

OR,

I am still being subject to the general notion that anything African is substandard.

Anyway, sir, I implore you to create a Facebook and/or whatsapp channel for some of us who don't have BB pins.
It's just #10 for crying out loud. Not something I can't contribute.

Also, I am expecting a very coordinated structure. I mean, who is in charge? Of what?
And how will the money be distributed to entrepreneurs? Or is this just another differently packaged cooperative society?

I am reminded of a certain show I used to watch when I was little, I think it was join AIT. titled "Dragon's den" or so. Where people with ideas come to talk to people with money. I don't know if anyone remembers that. I did love the idea and the show too.

Anyway, I totally love this. And . . . . keep me posted.
