After the auction and your bank or investment house is successful, they'l take the fund and return the interest to ur account...at the expiration of that 91days the face value of ur investment is what will be paid back to you.

Meaning if you invest 1 mill.. And ur bid at 10% is successful, they'll take 975k and refund you 25k then after 91 days they'll pay you back 1mill.

Note: From the 25k I'll pay small amount for Custody fee and transaction fee.

My little contribution

God bless you.

Did you assign paid prof to make the calculation for you?
Or is it disappointing you cant get your economics textbook to answer the question?

since the payment is a semi annually bullet payment and the bond is FEB2020. you most likely receive your first coupon interest in February 2016. the next one in August 2016. Next one will be February 2017 and so on until you get your final interest and principal in February 2020.

Total interest will be 9 times.

I hope i have assisted in my own little way

thanks man...really helpful .

If you go to www.mutual funds nigeria dot com, click on the analytics tab, you will see daily bond analytics, scroll to the end and download the spreadsheet, it is already populated with all the information you need. Read through the blog and you will see how to use the sheet, good luck

Hello pple, please i want to verify the info i got from a friend on bonds.

I was told bonds are like treasury bills but interest is paid every 6months. He also said interest is as much as 15%.

That if i invest 1m for 2020, that i will be geting about 75k every six months for 5yrs.

Pls how true is this?

Is the 2020 bond still on sale?

How do i invest in bonds. Is the money with the bank or cbn.?

Can the fg reduce ur interest as the year goes on?

Please enlighten me on bonds.

Yes, bonds are like NTB, just longer tenors and bi-annual payments. Both contracts have no VATs and are with CBN, not your bank. The interest you agreed upon is locked in - doesn't change during the duration of your contract - regardless of future sales rates or economic shifts.

Your questions are addressed on CBN website, visit it and get enlightened.

good, this means it works like SI calculation formula (P*T*R)/100. Therefore for the 4.5yrs duration the person'll get approx 349,650.
Thanks bro, my only concern to this is the current state of the naira (that may face devaluation), coupled with inflation. Gracias to unite4real, neroflo57, naijainvestor etal

91k. Although there is custody fee which is minimal. So let's say you should get around 90k finally
