As already ellucidiated in the original thread that brought the burden for this initiative, it is a movement by concerned Nigerians to deliver Nigeria; to kick-start an economic revolution through job creation.
I'm in for this. In fact, I'm stuck in it with you all of like-passion.
My only challenge is that I'm not on BBM. I'm just on whatsapp.
Will that affect my contribution in intellectual and financial resources?
Will it affect my effective participation?
Any plan to carry whatsapp users like me along?

I keep getting the feeling that something isn't quite in place yet for this idea to be successful.

Maybe it's because I don't have a blackberry account and I'm therefore biased.

I am still being subject to the general notion that anything African is substandard.

Anyway, sir, I implore you to create a Facebook and/or whatsapp channel for some of us who don't have BB pins.
It's just #10 for crying out loud. Not something I can't contribute.

Also, I am expecting a very coordinated structure. I mean, who is in charge? Of what?
And how will the money be distributed to entrepreneurs? Or is this just another differently packaged cooperative society?

I am reminded of a certain show I used to watch when I was little, I think it was join AIT. titled "Dragon's den" or so. Where people with ideas come to talk to people with money. I don't know if anyone remembers that. I did love the idea and the show too.

Anyway, I totally love this. And . . . . keep me posted.

I believe what this really needs is a website, which includes a forum, built on a crowd funding template. That way, a donation button can be added.

This project is too big to restrict to only bbm. I am actually working on something similar myself but it's still in the works.

Is there a registered name for the idea?

Has a corporate account been created to receive funds?

Who will be in charge of the funds?

How will projects worth pursuing be determined?

Will it be necessary to employ staff or will volunteers be considered?

etc.

In my opinion, let's go easy on the account part and rather focus on the systems and structures required. Once we finish that, we can put together a simple business plan, and based on what the business plan says we require, we will actualize a funding plan and open an account to receive the funds!

I also opine that we should use project management methodologies to run the system, or at worst, create a milestone table with an accompanying gnatt chart! Let's make use of the professionals in our midst, they are our organisational process assets in human form! Lol!

I also agree we should soft pedal with the account thing at the moment. Like you said, once we get the system and structures right, opening an account will just naturally come and easily.
