No sane person will call this anti-corruption. this is all politics |

Corruption can never be fought, maybe another way, but definitely not this way. The Yam and Goat theory might be the best afterall. Assuming Buhari successfully fight corruption what about his successor? Strong institutions better than strong personality. |

cyberdurable:I'm sure yuo heard the interview he granted News 24 in France where he labelled ministers 'noise makers'. Preferring to work with the civil service/servants. The fact that he is yet to announce his cabinet 4 months into his tenure pays credence to this. I'd like to believe he reluctantly came up with the september deadline just for peple to get off his back. |

One of the challenges we have is the Judiciary, I have had cases in court where we need the court to hear an application for the release of inmate detained unjustifiably by asking for Fundamental Right, the fastest you will get hearing from the court is 2- weeks and above, simply because the person involved is not a VIP or wealthy. Saraki was served on Wednesday and he already had the audience of another court that same day. If this is how our court operates normally, by now our society would have been better. If you are privileged to know anybody working in the Prisons Service, tell them I told you a lie, that 30-40 % of people in our prisons Nationwide are AWAITING TRIAL (some of them are innocent and only need the court to fast tract their hearing until the court sets them free), some of them spend decades in the prison without conviction and sentence just because the Court would be dragging on their issues. If the court gives this kind of speed (24 hours) to cases concerning the poor, then we would have a just society. By the way, I thought he should have filed a Preliminary Objection at CCT instead of Ex -Parte application in another court. |

sadoz:So is Buhari and all others. There's no one worthy of leading honestly among the present crop of politicians. If u doub it, shebi bubu na c-in-c, ehm, make him ask the military to release his certs. U see what I mean? . That's the genesis. |

The judiciary would be downfall of fight against corruption. When a criminal knows he can get an injunction against the police, EFCC. iCPC or any other body what is the use of those bodies. And the professional ethics of the judges who are complicit in these exercises should be analysed by their respective professional bodies. These guys are undermining the same rule of law they are elected to defend. As Femi Falana would say "rules of law" one for the politically allied and one for the rest of us |

this to me indicates that the CCB/CCT tribunal's case against Saraki is dead on arrival as they have to prove in court why he has been singled out for prosecution out of the lot that are in similar situation.... |

ExInferis:Nope, I think what easily leaps to mind is the invasion of Akwa-Ibom government house, the sacking of Marilyn Ogar's younger sister (DSS) the beating and phone snatching by Al-Makura's thugs (police), the invitation to lunch of Saraki's wife (EFCC) and all that has happened in a space of 120 odd days!! More still loading. Take heart you all. |

Saraki as a gentleman has respected the president enough but the dog that will get lost will never hear the whisle of his master. Constitutionally Buhari cannot remove Saraki but Saraki can through impeachment. Very soon buhari will exhaust his intimedation and thats when Saraki will strike. Certain president will soon make history. |

presido1:My brother, the only thing that matters is LEGALITY of any move. How many cases will they bring against Saraki & his wife? If he was a mere poodle in the party, would he face all these cases? It's the same thing PDP has been doing. Whether Alamienseigha or Bode George. Only those who proved stubborn were dragged to court by the powers-that-be. This doesn't look like change to me. A change would be EVERYONE suspected of corruption going to court to defend themselves. Beginning with IBB, OBJ, GEJ to include Tinubu, Amaechi, Saraki and others. They know know themselves. |

Seriously I think this country has a long way to go and more fences to scale through. The Judiciary will do more harm than good to this country as they always do and like my brothers above me said democracy can be frustrating at times and all what Justice Ahmed Mohammed want the CCB and others to come and defend are baseless. If he(Saraki) knows he was not guilty of the 13 count charges let him go and defend himself in court. Also I think is high time for all the youths to wake up from our slumber and stop all this sentiments and ethnic based comments. God Bless Nigeria. |

chukwudi44:My brother, Saraki is just TOO TINY in the scheme of things to flex muscles for PMB.. Buhari is NOT HIS mate or anything close to that, in any ramification, from time immemorial ..if you read the constitution, you will find out that the president has many ways of going around the issue of Ministers.. Read chapter 6 of the Nigerian constitution... Under the Subheading "Executive".. Section 147,subsection 2... |
