And so, my parcel was delivered to me yesterday with visa issued. All glory to God. I really want to appreciate everyone here. Your comments and guidance contributed to the success of my application. May God bless you all.

@ PetiteDiva~safe trip and plenty hugs...

Yaaaaayyyyyy!! I am so happy for you. Hurry up and come o. All students are resuming. It is crazy. I spent over 2 hours at border control, missed the bus taking me to school, I had to pay almost £50 extra, I am tired, I am hungry, I look like a fish and I have been unable to get my friend who stays here. I am not in happy mood but I am at least grateful for a safe trip.

Congrats again @ebally and you were so worried grin. I told you to have faith.

I thought I could change money at the bank, unfortunately, I was refused. I Was Too Frustrated To Be Stranded At Heathrow, so I went to MMIA to change. It was 350 naira to 1 pound. Anyway, LHR, here I come!

GLORY TO GOD!!!!
I have collected my visa!
20 working hours.

I had my appointment at VI on Tuesday, September 8th. Paid for priority.
Application's receipt was acknowledged by Lagos Deputy High Commission the next day (Sept.9th).
Decision mail came in yesterday morning (Sept. 15th).
I didn't even wait for collection email. I ran to Churchgate this morning and my envelope was there waiting for me.
The collection mail dropped few minutes after I left the gate.
All in all, it took about 6 - 7 working days. PRAISE GOD!

Congratulations

I did my interview at the VI vac on 8th of september, and as of dis day, my application status on the tls website still says "recieved by UKVI" while the last mail i got from tls says "your application has now been recieved by the ukvi and will now be proccessed according to published timelines" this was on 14th of september. the deadline for registration in the school is 2nd october. wat are my chances of getting my visa before then. considering the fact that i dint pay for the priority sevice. thanks

Hi Mates.

Another silent follower.
You guys are doing an amazing job.
I basically read through the forum and I got a hang of exactly what to do and how to do it. I also went through the UKVI's Tier 4-PBS document.

I picked up my Visa yesterday(Monday), it's been ready since Friday though.
Had my interview on the 2nd of September at the VAC Ikeja. Give or take, it took 7 working days.
I'm heading to Robert Gordon Uni. Aberdeen.

So about the application process.
I obviously applied to the school, got admission, paid tuition and got CAS. For the CAS though, RGU made payment of IHS and IELTS mandatory. So I initially made payment for IHS, but I processed a refund which I got within two weeks of initiating the process.
My IELTS was alright too. Speaking: 7.5; Writing:6.5; Reading:7.0;Listening:8.5; Overall band score:7.5.
I actually got my CAS before my IELTS was out, I gave them an expired TOEFL result (108/120) and my WAEC result showing my English result, so they processed my CAS with that, plus the school is HEI. But they asked for my IELTS when I got to the VAC and good enough, I had it with me.

I did my TB test at IOM, Ikeja. Its pretty straight forward! Call them to book an appointment and go for your appointment. PS: The guys at IOM(Ikeja) are very nice people! Very cultured.
Anyways, I think I'll just list out what I submitted. Sorry for the plenty story grin cheesy wink

Documents Submitted

Bank Statement (Use Oanda.com as your exchange peg. Don't forget currency variation!) But if you start counting your 28 days and you find out you didn't put enough money in your account before your started the 28 days count, simply make additional tuition payment(if you made part payment though) and have your school update your CAS to reflect the new paid tuition. I highlighted when the funding in my account started and when it ended.

CAS Letter

TB Test Result

IELTS Result

Oanda Print out (The didn't return my Oanda Print out but returned my bank statement, so yea! they actually use it)

Visa Application Printout

Bsc Certificate

I also labelled accordingly: Appendix A - D.

PS: Just pay attention to certain details and read this forum well well and you'll be fine. Please don't forget UKVI's website oh! They change immigration law more than a woman changes her own mood. cheesy

@creamyworkz, Hi.
It shouldn't. Your sponsor(RGU) is a licensed UK HEI. They can assert you English proficiency.

Hello guys,
Trust you are all doing great. Congrats to those that got their visa.
I am yet to apply for mine as the 28 days ends on Monday. This means I'd have to apply on the 22nd. My worry is the sallah break ( doubt they'd hold interviews then); what are the odds of getting an appointment a day after submitting the application?
And yes, can someone please explain how I can go about the priority bit.
Many thanks.

Hey. I think they have just 2 public holidays this September. First of all, what's the latest resumption date for your school? Just as you apply, pick the closest available date for the interview. As for the priority service, I'll advice you not to bother really. With the experience I've had and some of the people here too, priority takes more days than the stipulated 5 days they claim(in lagos though).

Yeah. But if you can have your appointment in Abuja and pay for priority then you should be able to get it in 5 working days or 6. Priority or no priority sha, please stay away from Lagos, if you can. Cheers!

And LOL!!! Oma12, who knows how long it would have taken if you didn't pay for priority? cheesy cheesy

Many thanks Oma12 and Dannyabba. Latest date for registration is October 26, 2015. However, I still want to get there in time. I don't have the luxury of applying in Abuja; means i'll have to take my chances with Lagos. Dannyabba, I believe you got yours withing six (6) days, yea? I mean judging by one of your posts.

Hello y'all, I'm a transfer student to university of Brighton. I've been away for sometime so basically I'm in nigeria for the visa application and internship placement. I have questions for you guys. I have issues filling the maintenance section of the online visa application. I have a scholarship worth 7.2 m naira (£23100). My tuition fee is £13500 with a balance of £9600 for maintenance. My error was, i wrote the monthly stipend of £800 in the maintenance section which covers 12 months, but I did state the bulk meant for maintenance in the other related section for maintenance too. I did corrected this differences in the self assessment form while submitting my application. I also submitted original copies of evidence of scholarship including the bank statement of the body which awarded me the scholarship. I hope the factor won't be a set back for me ? Your kandid comments will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi everyone. Great and completely useful thread. Wondering if there is anyone heading to the University of Reading here. If there is any, have you secured accommodation or does anyone know anyone who needs a flatmate or know of a spare room available. I had no idea it would be this difficult getting private accommodation especially trying to do it without being in the UK. Any help would be well appreciated. Thanks
