Hi Bro. I strongly suspect that the 6.55% is not annualized. If annualized 6.55% for 182 days(6 months) will be equivalent to 13.1% per annum. GT bank seems to be less greedy than Zenith bank from my experience regarding Treasury Bills purchase from both banks. I got 12.5% annualized on my TB investment (182 days) this week with Zenith, which is equivalent to 6.25% ROI for 182 days.
boss I need your advice, I went with bank's bid rate, got a call wed. morning from accnt officer that my bid didn't go through, promised to push it to the next auction. Didn't ask further question because I was preparing for an exam that morning...#does that sound logical..#i bnk with zenith

Add interest/more funds to it at maturity, then re-invest

hmmmmm, be very careful. I'm into investments and don't know of any local investments that is capital protected. only T Bills and Sovereign Bonds guarantee principal. also note that if you liquidate these investments before maturity your principal might no longer be protected as they will be sold at the secondary market with prevailing prices and interest.

Walk into a First Bank Branch, tell a rep that you're interested in Treasury Bills, and the period/tenor of your choice (3 months, 6months, or 1year). They should give you a form to fill out. If they try to dissuade you in any way like advising you go for fixed deposit, please don't listen. Fill out the TBill form, once it's been processed and bid is successful, you'll get an alert telling you how much was deducted, and from there you can calculate the interest.

It's that easy.
