The chances of PDP winning the presidential election come 2019 is very low, except Buhari's tenure turns out to be a failure(which is unlikely) so even if they zone it to the North, they are bound to loose.
But whichever ways, the build up to 2019 will be interesting as a lot of loosers from the North will decamp to the PDP with the hope of winning the party's ticket. Atiku, how market?

My guy you don't know how much an average northerners detests PDP as a party. Most people don't care whether you lived all your political life in PDP, the moment you switch to Baba Buhari's party they will vote for you.
The only reason why PDP was able to get about 15% in the NW in the last election was because PDP had some states and federal seats on its side. Now imagine the type of cleansing it had suffered especially in the NW (with the highest number of registered voters). In reality there is NO WAY for PDP, at least not in the North.

igbos did mistake to abandon APGA. 2019 would have been 3 horse race. Now is still the same story. I PROPHESIED THIS 2 DAYS AGO THAT SS AND SEE WILL BOW TO PRESSURE AND GIVE UP THE PARTY STRUCTURE TO THE NORTH.

nothing will remove buhari of cuz. i wanted them to put an igbo/yoruba (except saraki) as a candidate even if he will loose, is good to try.

The mistake the PDP made in 2015 wasn't zoning the presidency to the SS, the mistake was fielding Jonathan. Jonathan was an inexcusable failure of a leader and had PDP fielded someone else from the SS with even a little bit of credibility, there's no way the old general would have won that election. A lot of people especially from the SW and middle belt grudgingly voted Buhari not because they loved him, but rather because they believed there was an urgent need to kick Jonathan aside.

The 2015 election wasn't about enthroning Buhari, rather it was about removing GEJ.

Then come 2019, PDP fielding a northerner is a total waste of time. Northerners worship Buhari and fielding a northerner would not in anyway break the ranks of PMB's northern followers. Down in the south, a typicaly Igbo man will not be bothered about going out to vote for a northerner just because he's in the PDP.

Suffice it to say, PDP has no chance in 2019 except PMB decides not to contest and then APC fields a clown.

Well first of all know that PMB will contest 2019, (you can take that to the bank). So that brings Ribadu or whoever Northerner PDP is bringing face to face with PMB. You remember how PMB Quadrupled his closest opponents in the last presidential primary elections. So you shall understand PDP was able to get the votes it got mainly because GEJ was from the south, so bringing a northerner against PMB will amount to loosing both fronts (the north and South). Either way they do not stand the slightest chance.

PDP may field a Northerner, Buhari will be 76 and may decide to opt out based on age. APC fields another Northerner along a SS like Oshiomole, PDP fields a SS like Donald Duke. Who'll win?

My brother cool down. Let the status quo remain for now. The reason for this decision will surely get clearer to you as the days go by. Let us concentrate our energy into shopping for a credible candidate of northern origin.

I actually predicted this Will happen...the Yoruba race are in for a long walk. The APC Wil just have to also bring out a northerner too, cos I guess PMB won't contest again.

APC should wait for who PDP brings out as VP....which in guessing is a south easterner. Then the only way to match PDP is to bring out a South southerner as vp.

If they still stick to the Yoruba vice, the south south in totality will lean towards pdp.

Considering the margin when GEJ list out, I think if APC makes the slightest mistake, PDP Will take back power.

My own view is so far as there's no corruption in the system, anyone can rule. The best thing to happen to us as a country was breaking the one party system.

PDP will definitely pick a SE to back a Northern presidential candidate.

In contrast to what you said, it will be of advantage to the APC if they take a very popular SW candidate to back their own Northern candidate. APC do not have a SS politician that can command the numbers they need. They will have to bank on the full support of the SW and NC to counter the votes of the SS and SE. If Buhari still contest he will definitely win the North hands down in 2019. In the event of Buhari stepping aside, El-Rufai and Kwankwanso are equally very popular in the North. If backed by a very popular SW candidate, combined with the sentiments of incumbency, they may scale through. And that is if the current regime performs well.
