Russia led the rank of the top importers of Brazilian beef in 2014. This was mainly due to Russia banning almost all food imports from the United States of America and from the European Union for a year - the ban is expected to end in August 2015. Hong Kong is the second largest importer of Brazilian beef not for its internal consumption, but because they re-export it to other Asian countries

Anyone saying we can't rear cattle in anambra must be dreaming. So someone who studied animal husbandry and veterinary medicine cannot do what you're saying?

Very few countries in Africa can produce milk in their countries. So, if we go into that business we're looking at a very big business gain. Attacking the different countries with igbo style of business.

What these cattle need is mainly food and water while you give them some time to move around the ranch. We have enough grasses in the east that can feed them till eternity. With our great biochemists and micro-biologists, we can incorporate feeds that will enable them lactate and grow faster.

Fulani herdsmen should go and sleep one place. Its not by walking the whole thy-kingdom-come that make their business make sense.

Self sufficiency is tomorrow's answer.

Don't mind all these little brains. All these thousands of butchers that keep 1 to 4 cows at a time for butchering are already in a rearing business on a micro level. All they need now, is to scale it up and innovate

like i said earlier, cattle rearing is fulani means of survival, i do not think they will sit idle and watch us render them jobless. they carry AK47 around with impunity, and they can easily show up at your ranch and spray your cows with pellets (groundnuts). until we have full control of our security in the region, i dont think it is wise to drag with them the only work they know how to do. those guys dont reason intellectually. they will just yamutu all ur cows and dissappear only to reappear if you dream of restarting.

What got Fulanis( with respect) got to do with modern Farming?.I am talking about 21 century Farming technics & not Stone Age activity!. This is more than a billion dollar business!. Our people if some of you might remember are use to having many local cow until we abandoned it like we did to other Agricultural activities are paying dearly for it!

Agulu and a few other towns in anambra still rear those native black Igbo cattles, but 3 times more expensive though.

Bro, do you know Zimbabwe have more advanced cattle ranch system than Nigeria can ever imagined. Google.

I must admit, Malawian, here u did not talk like a true igbo, anambra, idemili and mostly oraukwu son.
so because those babarians are into cattle business everybody ga achalu fa ogbo?
do u know how how lucrative animal husbandry is especially when in commercial agriculture?
I have been for long time deliberating on going into animal business after school.
we should encourage our brothers who are willing to go into that business.

I get your point Sir but what Sir VickJames said can be done. You speak of the security implications but is there any good venture without its risks?

So we can't wait until we're 100% fortified security-wise. Besides no matter how security-conscious one may be with all the finest security systems, breaches can still take place. So let's step out in Boldness and stop thinking about what others may do or say..... NO RISKS, NO REWARDS.

Look, in my home town in Anambra, there's a small Cattle stable/ranch I know, run by the fulanis/hausas BUT OWNED BY AN IGBOMAN with other Igbos controlling the business side of things and a few Igbos involved directly with the cattles alongside the hired fulanis/hausas. The cattle-rearing business is super possible in Anambra inspite of the risks anyone can bring up.

We're the Light of the Nation. Does anyone understand what that means?? Anything is possible in Anambra. We can undertake any venture and till come out unscathed.

We need not fear "risks" because as ANAMBRARIANS WE RIDE ON THE WAVE OF "RISKS" TO SHAKE THE TREE OF THIS LIFE TO BRING DOWN FRUIT UNHEARD OF.

WE'RE RISK-TAKERS BUT CERTAINLY NOT STUPID ONES, BUT WE ARE DARING.......

nwanna, i said that we need to have full control of our security before venturing into that market. why dont we understand logic before speaking? who amongst all of us here will honestly put his money into that market with the present configuration of things in Nigeria? yes, we can outsmart anyone, only if the person is trying to be smart. fulani makes no pretence to smarts, they are crude, they will kill all your cows so that their own will remain. they kill humans in the middle belt just for their beloved cows. if you guys continue to insist otherwise, igwebuike.
thanks. o zuo ka o ram n'onu.

If we have like four ranch together, they can employ vigilantes to do the job. By the way, these ranch will be situated inside the east and not border towns.

I have even gone to google to research on pellets been harmful to cows. Bros, I am assuring you that these fulani foolishmen cannot do anything if we start doing this business. Location also matters in things like this, brother.

If you do it in the heart of anambra of even in the riverine area, I tell you, these fulani foolishmen won't dare come there. Since they even know we hate them and the way their news are scattered online. They can be dealt with.

did i ever say it was going to be an official thing? have we prevented them from roaming all over the east or dont they carry guns on them. the only reason they are not giving us the middle belt treatment is because they know we value human life and will definitely respond in equal measure. which igbo man will go looking to kill another person because you killed his livestock?

Don't mind the childish boy seeking attention by saying crazy things. When has cattle rearing become as complicated as making cars etc?

it's just that before now, our people didn't care about agriculture business and our state governments were too daft too to realize the abominable blunder they were committing by ignoring agriculture. Thank God today the terrible mindset is changing.

Look at Zimbabwe farmers in kwara state. They set up modern cattle ranches, poultries and farms for maize, cassava and rice. Today they are supplying most meat and milk consumed in Abuja and smiling to the bank while doing it. Who says this cannot be replicated in Uli or Umunze or Okigwe or Arochukwu or Oba nsukka, not by Zimbabweans but by Igbo businessmen ?
Buying and selling isn't a reliable business. i want all to remember that. Agriculture will retain your wealth for ever.

If I run a multi-billion naira business, prudence demands that I secure it by any possible means.Could even employ the services of proven security outfits to do the job. This is a no-brainer.

So Why hasn't fulani people poisoned Zimbabwean cows or even poison our farm growing tomato since that is also their god given business?
Why haven't fulani poisoned all the poultry birds and catfish farms since it is also their business?

You guys are funny lots. There is more to Tropical cow farming which is the peculiar occupation of Fulanis.

Now tell me how you can handle a long horned beast as this? Even the face is scary like a wild animal unlike what you guys have been posting up there.

Cow farming/rearing is a very special area particularly in the Tropics that has a very wild breed of cattles.

Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by chino11(m): 3:31pm On Oct 02, 2015
Just tell me how you can contain such beast as this if you do not have other skills that comes with a particular tribe?

Those specie of cow in Europe and America are horn-less and harmless unlike this..

Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by chino11(m): 3:36pm On Oct 02, 2015
Let us not continue to be emotional over everything, the truth is that cow farming in the Tropics is a special area.

There is nobody from the East who can handle this except you will employ the Fulanis to do the rearing of which they will not agree to it.

These Fulanis have more than ordinary skills to tame and rear these beasts.
