Nuellah02:If they want out how is it an issue? Is it a problem? Like I said before were they not fine on their own before? |

How did the people become minorities? Minorities of where? They should continue to govern themselves as always. If others want out, it should be seen as a good thing. No one should feel like a slave or prisoner in his home. |

Nuellah02:your questions ain't concise and direct. She answers you well but it seems you re asking another question ? Lol. Back to op, the reasons why lord luggard amalgamated northern and southern protectorate is because the Great Britain was not benefiting much from the north. The northern's resources/capital intensive and their gdp was much lower than that of the whole eastern state minus southwest nigeria. So they suggested to merged the northern nigeria with the southern nigeria to generate more incomes that will helped developed great britains and their personal interest. Presently, the amalgamation is dead and is not working, it s not a permanent experiment but that of a temporary. Our took so long cos some countries like the amalgamation of indian, pakistan and Bangladesh experienced it temporarily and dissolves It immediately without regrets. But in africa, the northern(hausas) can't do without the biafrans oilyel, The southwest(yoyobar) can't do without the biafrans development in their areas, trade and investment. etc So they keep dying to sustained, maintained and retained the amalgamation. That s why you see several monkeys in the zoo trying his or her possible best to cause enmity between igbos and south south peeps. |

IGBOPRINCE:Plenty substance in what you have said. It via worth adding that there appears to be no common ground for the parties in this amalgamation. No common values amongst the members. People like to shy away from discussing this topic. |

CuckoldMaster:The ones that are too scared to demand something different n better can't discuss this issue. They rather hide behind old stories. Is it for fear of the unknown? |

kenny987:Black man has an afinity for slavery and sufering. They love the status quo and find it hard to think outside the box, know what is best for them and their fellow man and take the necessary actions. |

kenny987:The only old stories they tell is the last war and south sudan, bla bla bla and they move to venoms carried in their DNA when you give them a superior argument. What unknown? Death is only what they fear. It didn't start today, the black slaves could overrun their masters with their numbers but remained slaves with their cowardice and saboteur mind. I sometimes wonder if those that can't reason are cursed. IPOB Youth |

AMALGAMATION: [uh-mal-guh-meyt] verb (used with object), amalgamated, amalgamating. 1. to mix or merge so as to make a combination; blend; unite; combine: to amalgamate two companies. 2. Metallurgy. to mix or alloy (a metal) with mercury. As far as the entity called 'Nigeria' is concerned, amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates was a strategic move by the British to further their interests as in their dual mandate. It was also a desperate move to deal with German companies competing with them in the area; There is a need to understand that this entity has its root like most nations in a 'mercantile' company that is relating to trade or commerce. Nigeria as it exists today was already a nation in the making given the shared interests for self determination by enlightened natives of the era (early protectorate(s) to late 1950s. There was massive rennaisance in the area only old conservative approach to social problems still abound making radical development difficult. There is no need to worry about seccession though, to be honest the Scots have been trying to secede from the the Act of Union for how long now?? |

CuckoldMaster:Intelligent contributions because you yourself are not intelligent abi. A simple google search can get you volumes on the redundant questions you asked. Even a search on threads of Nairaland can get you answers. So stop being lazy, or do you have an alternative motive for creating what we have been discussing for now 55 years already? Nonsense |
