I am a fan of both lean and bulky muscle mass but my body's muscle mass is caught in between because i am a little above lean but i am ripped.

Thanks for ur information, but Mister, muscles do not turn into fat. You only accumulate fat around body tissues. With exercise, you burn the fats and can also cause the muscle to enlarge, by a process call hypertrophy. Hypertrophy means that new cells do not develop, rather, the already existing cells enlarge.

Wow, it's been quite a while i updated my thread, no thanks to my busy but productive schedules. To my fellow gym-enthusiasts, how is the iron-pumping going? Remember to always hit those muscles to failures.

Of recent, i have met quite a handful of guys at gyms and when i ask the question "why do you do what do " they give me very funny answers like
I want to make girls drool over me.
I want to be an intimidating figure amongst my peers.
I want to have huge biceps and chest.
I want my clothes to be body-fitting.
I want to get initiaited to a secret-cult very fast.

Those answers are not bad asides from the last one but strength-training transcends beyond these myopic answers. These answers are from "small" boys in the game of "pumping iron"

Strength-training has some hardcore benefits, i am going to reel out now. These benefits are so beneficial to the body that you would want to take another look at why you should gym.

TEN PROVEN HEALTH BENEFITS OF STRENGTH-TRAINING
1.Improved Physical performance.
This is usually obvious for beginners. Activities that that take so much energy to perform becomes so much easy to engage in.

2. Metabolic efficiency
Since strength-training causes the increase in lean muscle-mass all things being equal, it therefore means that ones metabolism becomes reved up. Remember that muscles is an efficient fat-burner and as such those excess calories consumed are burnt up via the muscles.

I can hear somebody screaming how. Now let me explain it to you. Diabetes is associated with high blood sugar. Strength-training makes ones' muscles better able to grab sugars from the blood stream. Just half an hour of medium intensity exercise daily makes one's muscles super absorbent to nutrients including sugar.

I could still remember those days when i was just begining to pump those irons. Mehn the feelings after those gruelsome sessions was simply out of this world. Ever heard of endophins(feel good hormones), they come in their droves following a nice strength-training session. It is only sex and exercise that lead to the release of endophins. So my fellas, go pump those muscles.

Yeah.. it's been like ages!!
Am still following... and Am still hitting these muscles really hard, Am more strict with ma diet now, trying to sculpt out ma best body ever in a year's time.

Yes, it is about that of the year again. Lots of merriment and enjoyment in the air, lots of food to eat and enough things to drink but please do not over-indulge. Moderation should be key.

This is even when to pump those iron more as there will high calorie intake compared to its expenditure.

Compliments of the season to my iron-warriors all around the world.

It has been quite a long while. Hope those muscles are still getting those pumps. Never let those iron go "cold".

Mr Pristine, I seem to be adding weight, I can tell because I see myself in the mirror and I knw I have added some weight since december.
But my confusion is this, when I check my self on the scale, I still weigh the same, not even a single Kg added from what my scale says.
Why is this so?

As you gain muscle, Mr. Figur, you also lose fat, so the change you notice on the weighing scale may not be as dramatic as the change you can see in the mirror, meaning that so your progress is real, and not an illusion.

Oga Pristine I throway salute. Looking good, brother man. Keep hittin' them irons, and the world will turn. Little by little, pioneers like yourself will gradually educate the Nigerian male that a huge gut is NOT a sign of wealth, but a sign that the person who looks like that is lazy, un-informed, and headed for an early death from any of the numerous diseases that kill off the lazy and the fat, all over the world.

Just like my man(papiwata) has said, u are shedding fat and at the same time gaining muscle mass. Don't always use the scale because it could be very deceptive. At a point in my life, i was looking bigger, lean and muscular but i did not seem to add much weight instead i was adding mass. There is a great difference between weight and mass. Moreover you might be having a small bony frame.

Keeping on pumping the iron.
