Thanks and may God bless you for this write-up.

The last elections have brought out the Ibos in their true hitherto hidden colour - a most despicable, lieing, cowardly, ignorant, silly, shameless, thoughtless, ingratuitous, bigoted, boastful but spineless, vindictive, crooked and intolerant tribe.

1. The pogroms aside, all religious massacres that have occured up north were largely directed at the Ibo but not a single retaliation ever followed from them except to issue spineless ultimata.
2. The pillage by fulani herdsmen has occured in the SE with no single reprisals.
3. In the political hostory of Nigeria, the Ibos, led by Azikiwe, have always pandered to the core north but it did not seem to them nor the SW ever impugned slavery into it.
The first and major political alignment between the north and SW occured this time around but the primitive Ibos have been ranting it is slavery.
Their major problem is that inspite of their claim to western education, intrinsically, they are a tribe that stiil wallow in the 17th century tendencies.
Who don't know, no go ever know .
We have been through this and by thy grace it won't come to us again.
Ogu bu onwu(war is death) no matter the magnitude,
Ask anybody who know Onitsha and Aba or who live there from 2000 till date how we normally close shop and start a killing spree whenever there is attack on Christians in far north.
About 150 aboki souls where killed and roasted with fire at Onitsha during the 2006 retaliation of the cartoon riot in north of which I am a living witness( ask people who know Onitsha wella)
Even the 2013 kano bus terminal bomb blast which kill not only the igbos , hausa people at onitsha feels the heat.

I don't want to say about herdsmen own because I don't want to go into details but down here in the east the herdsmen trouble don't last more than two year in many villages.

1)What is your opinion about encroaching, by you people, on the grazing paths and areas they've used for hundreds of years. This encroachment is quite inhumane, you'd agree.

2)What's your opinion about the looting of the treasuries by your Governors and past ministers which have resulted in the deaths of 167,000 people on roadways which could have been built and maintained with the looted monies?

let me stop here for now. dolo
are you Fulani?

Are you Nigerian?

How many Fulani herdsmen have been arrested and successfully prosecuted for these killings? You do yourself great injustice by wrongfully accusing a whole race of people and calling them criminals without any aota of proof.

When your villagers dress up like herdsmen to perpetrate their crimes so that they can blame herdsmen, did you raise up your patriotic voice in condemnation?

You people better get your acts together, investigate, and find out who the real abductors of Falae are. Herdsman do not drive getaway Jeeps, abi ode niyin ni?
Oga, this one make me laugh so te I leave patients comot to respond so.
Fulani herdsmen men have been on the news for the same reasons all over the country now for at least 5 years running, and you see no reason to be angry at Fulanis as a whole?
For people who organized the near extermination of the the Igbo tribe, because 5 army officers went on a killing rampage of Hausa leaders, the Fulanis like you surely speak from both sides of their mouth whenever convenient.

Wow! And you have caught this people playing dress up?
Accusing herdsmen wrongly? There are witnesses, Olu Falae - a victim of their monstrous outburst - is one. You think people from neighboring villages will come in to a person's farm to commit such dastardly act and go unrecognized. .you think southern Nigeria is a desert?

I don't think you live in nigeria, if you do you would know that murder cases are hardly resolved and the murderers prosecuted

What agreement do fulani have with the people of southern Nigeria? Graze on our farms, for what? What compensation do we get? This is trespassing and stealing...these herdsmen have no sense of human organized society. .to these fools any land is free and can be used. .forgetting this is no desert

This is a beautiful thread, we should focus on driving home our points and making it known to every other group that Yoruba is no joke when it comes to defending what is ours.

Please and please people, this Igbo and Yoruba stuff is getting tired and played already, it has gotten so crazy that many Nairaland actives have had to go underground and only post every now and then.

To the Yoruba folks, please ignore the Igbo detractors.

Waiting for the Fulani to attack the west or the east, before a sequence of reactions are launched is not a good idea. What ever happened to "attack is the best defense"?

BTW, the Yoruba/southern muslims who admire and wish they are Fulanis by birth don't help matters at all.

You have to give to Ibos though cos, look at how an Ibo who wrote this article smartly left an Ibo chief that was recently killed by fulani and all other people raped and killed and Ibo men that are afraid to go to the farm in iboland, all out of the write up making it all about Yoruba v fulani. Now watch how Yoruba are now convulsing and falling over each other to tell how Ibos are not the enemies.

What you are seeing here shows Yoruba have a bigger problem than we thought and it's only God that can help this people.
I once thought that Ibos will sell millions of Yoruba if slavery were to return today. They have Yoruba number and know when to dial it. Could you have imagined a thread where Yoruba and Ibos are in agreement with Yoruba being the punching bag huh Hell will freeze over before Ibos let that happen. This is how stuppidd Yoruba are.

Bullying works on Yoruba and Ibos know this and have perfected it. Only very few Yoruba can stand in our resolve.

From now on I wish Yoruba nation well but not worth fighting for, infact, I'm shifting to the side of the winner, the Ibo side. They won this!

Sorry to say that the OP is barking up the wrong tree.

The OP might serve a better purpose by raising alarms regarding the thousands of citizens killed in our roads due to poor management.

This attempt at fueling hatred against the Fulani falls flatly on its face.
Poor management and road regulation, poor standards and inspection, fake spare parts, absence of consumer protection acts....all these are distributed evenly across the nation. We don't yet have suicide drivers behind wheels in Nigeria and so road fatalities are blind to ethnicity. Your mind is not working right on civic matters if you do not have this basic knowledge.

In fact you are a danger to this community when you mix an involutary ending of road accident with the voluntary and calculated act of demolishing the ecology, the environment and instigating disability in society and moreso alloting priority to former.

MayorofLagos on one of his bigoted rants against Fulani people again. Nothing new!
Beside Yorubas, is there any other ethnic group in Nigeria that throws party every weekend?

So there are many ways to assess this situation. From its economic perspective SW is the biggest consumer of your cattles, the biggest clientele anywhere in Nigeria. If no one else buys your cattle you will still be rich selling to Yoruba alone.

On the other hand, if Yoruba decides to place sanction on your supply and to import its meat, your fathers will suffer a heavy revenue loss.

Do you not know this shyte? We can make your next generation suffer an irreparable loss simply by invoking a change in the supply chain....and we don't need to put ak47 to your head or a dagger to your neck to achieve your slow decay.

We are superbly above you in the social class and can subject you to heavy losses from angles you cannot see and do not know.

Anyone "found" guilty is exactly the law! Fulanis are usually "not found" after their atrocities and is why they escape prosecution. We have an army of Yoruba defenders who have perfected and taught others how "not to be found" on ground zero. We will back them with lawyers trained and skilled in fabricating legal loop holes.

Lumping every Fulani together and labeling them criminal is justified. They did not deny that their herdsmen carry weapons. Are they licensed to bear arms? There is nothing in their actions more criminal than this.

Why the need to back them up with criminal lawyers trained to find loop holes? The problem with some of you people is that you do not know how to obey simple laws but prefer to look for loop holes.

The last time I checked you people are decent human beings and not animals. The herdsmen run into wild animals daily in their journeys and their weapons are for self defense against these animals. You people have no fear of attack.

Coexistence without violence is very possible.

The 2006 riot is the most bloodiest in which I am a witness because I was around that particular time.
It was caused by the cartoon riot in the north+unconfirmed rumour down south.
The cartoon riot in the north that led to death of many christians from other tribes and not only the igbos.
But only the igbos retaliate.

Are there no yoruba christians in the north who are among the victims of the riot?
Have you care to show some respect not only by fighting but atleast to acknowledge and accept the fact that you lost a brother.
Since you claimed to be a yoruba man does it mean that yoruba christians who died up north doesn't worth to be yoruba?

What about the yoruba youth corpers that were murdered in cold blood during the 2011 presidential election?
We accept the fact that igbo youth corpers are also among the victims that's why we give them a benefiting burial with many governors in attendance at least to acknowledge the fact that they were murdered while serving their father's land which doesn't worth it.

This links won't convince you to know the real situation that's why I said in my previous post that you should ask anybody at onitsha how hausa people use to lock their central mosque(one of the biggest in SE) and hide in barrack and asaba during election or any show down in north.
Re: The Coming War Over Fulani by Zeus777: 5:38pm On Oct 21, 2015
xtrorse:
In January 15, 1966 coup, soldiers from every region of the federation (Nzeogwu - Mid-West; Ifeajuna -East; Ademoyega - West; Kpera -North) had staged a coup in which soldiers and politicians from every region of the federation (Akintola: West, Balewa: North, Unegbe: East, Okotie-Eboh: Mid-West) were killed. Their ultimate aim was to install and make Chief Obafemi Awolowo the ruler of the country and quell the 'Operation Wetie' that was ravaging SW region where Lagos, the seat of power, was situated.

Unegbu was the GOC of one of the major army barracks. He was Igbo, and he was also the guy who almost frustrated the first coup of 1966 by refusing to release weapons. For his refusal, the Nzeogwu group killed him.

Recall that soon after Nigeria got independence the Western region was in turmoil, codenamed “wild wild west” characterised by election rigging, thuggery, violence, arson, mass murders and other forms of corruption and acts of lawlessness, that occasioned the January 1966 coup, took place as pioneering acts in Nigeria.

Remember, prior to the first coup, by 1963, the plot between Akintola, Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello was perfected and Chief Obafemi Awolowo was arrested for coup plotting/ treason. His trial commenced in earnest and he was alongside some accomplices convicted for treason and jailed for 10 years. This again was the first alleged coup plotting and conviction in Nigerian history. Intent on totally decimating Chief Awolowo, Ladoke Akintola together with vice premier Remi Fani Kayode went into a political alliance with Prime minister Tafawa Balewa and new political party known as the Nigerian National Alliance (NNA) was formed.  By this time Dr Nnamidi Azikiwe had realised the folly of entering a coalition with Tafawa Balewa’s government   and teamed up with incarcerated Chief Awolowo’s Action group to form the all progressive grand alliance (UPGA).

When Northern soldiers staged a revenge coup in July 1966, soldiers from one region of the federation and their people (North: Danjuma, Murtala, Martin Adamu etc) singled out soldiers and civillians from one region (East) in the federation as their targets.

Here are the members of Yoruba tribe that participated in the January 15, 1966 coup:
(See Ben Gbulie: ‘Nigeria’s Five Majors.’).

*Adewale Ademoyega is the most prominent Yoruba participant in the coup, there were other Yoruba officers who were involved at the dangerous execution stage of the coup. One of them is:

*Second Lieutenant Olafimihan, an officer serving under Madiebo in Kaduna. He was sent by the plotters to gauge his commander’s loyalty. (See Madiebo pp.17-18).

*Another is Lieutenant (some books refer to him as a Captain) Fola Oyewole. He, like Ademoyega, went on to fight for Biafra and wrote a book on his coup and wartime experiences. The book’s title is ‘Reluctant Rebel.’

*There is also Captain Ganiyu Adeleke who became an instructor in the Biafran Infantry School. For confirmation, see the list of coup plotters detained by Ironsi’s regime in Ademoyega pp.106-108, and this quote from Nowa Omoigui’s online account: ‘Mid-Western Invasion of 1967’: ‘Captain Ganiyu Adeleke, who had taken part in both the January 15 coup and the Mid-Western invasion before becoming an instructor in the Biafran School of Infantry was released at a later date after his co-plotters had been freed.’ Omoigui’s work is significant because, though he exhibits a high level of professionalism in his research, he has no sympathy for the January 15 coup. If his facts corroborate Ademoyega’s they are worthy of attention.
