If it's a rape case, does the DPO have to come to the press rather than making an arrest and making contact with the victim? How can a DPO respond to hearsay without finding out fact before coming to the press. Seems he is still angry about allegation that his men ask for 4500naira. Rape is a serious issue and rather than make accusations and counter accusations, the police should make an arest or adress the issue of police asking for money to aid investigation. This is common in most Nigerian Police station except the police want to tell us readers we are not Nigerians and thus such an allegation is false.There is no doubt Nigerian police are efficient but lack proper welfare to perform just like all majority of Nigerians live under poverty.We hope our new government will improve the welfare of the entire Nigerians as well as our armed forces included.

S...x with a minor(under 18) is always viewed as statutory rape under the laws. It is because this is Nigeria where we have folks like Yerima that people think it is ok.
