This was just too much to be a coincident. First the seer had said something catastrophic will happen to him and he kept having dreams about death and Humaira too dreamt about it!

“Have you ever tried to stop a dream from happening?” he asked her. He was very disturbed. The rate at which the dreams kept coming increased his fear. What if it means that his time is near!

“How can I stop something from happening when I don’t even know the people.” She said.

“What about me? Since you know me won’t you be able to stop the dream from becoming a reality?” he asked hungry for a solution.

“The dream itself is not clear so there is no way to know how it starts and end. Let’s just hope I dream of it again.” said Humaira.

“I can’t even believe we are having this conversation. How is it even possible for you to dream of things before they happen? Is it like a super natural power or what?”

“I won’t call it that.” replied Humaira. “People that interpret dreams don’t have super powers do they? It’s just a gift. But mine is a scary one because I feel helpless when things happen and I know I could have averted it from happening.”

Month later examinations were concluded and holiday was two weeks. Considering how short the holiday was Sadiq decided to stay back.

The silence of Jennifer became very disturbing to the two of them. They had no idea what she was up to. It was either she was planning something very evil or she might have turned a new leaf. Eze was of no real help. He assured them that Jennifer wasn’t up to anything, Sadiq and Vanessa didn’t buy that. They knew she had him fooled. That is one thing she knows how to do very well.

Even though they doubted Eze’s claim, they couldn’t do anything about it. They just had to wait for whatever was coming and be prepared for the worst.

Sadiq’s relationship with Zeenat had become so conspicuous that Alhaji Najib was aware of it. It was the first time Sadiq ever felt that he had found the right one, the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

One evening Sadiq and Zeenat were at the uncompleted balcony. A thought ran through Sadiq’s head. He had heard rumors about how Zeenat was in love with a certain guy before he came to Kano. Kazim told him she probably hasn’t gotten over the guy and Sadiq’s wish to make her his wife may crumble eventually. So Sadiq decided to ask her;

“Let’s say in the nearest not too distant future I go down on my knees and ask you to marry me. Will you say yes?”

Without giving it a long thought she replied.

“I would say yes!”

“At least give it a thought. You can give me the answer tomorrow.” he said.

“I don’t need to think about it. I would say yes!” she repeated, assuring him.

It was just the answer he wanted. It wasn’t just the answer, it’s the fact that she didn’t even think or dither before giving him her answer that made him realize she meant it. She was definitely the one.

That moment they both felt connected to each other and there was temptation for a kiss. But she had told him that if he wanted to be with her, then he should be ready to stay away from any immoral act. Their love story was different. It didn’t have the romance act that some did. Sadiq didn’t care. In fact he was glad that he found someone like her, someone who was rare. He definitely would spend the rest of his life with her!

I am glad to announce that tonight we will end the million dollar question abt who the real non human is.

The holiday was going great. And the weird dreams had stopped.

A day later was Janelle’s birthday. Sadiq wasn’t sure of what to get for her. She didn’t value material things much, she loved nature and Sadiq thought he might as well take her to the clearing she took him to the night of his birthday.

The next day, by past four in the evening they both rode in a taxi to the location. Janelle guessed he was taking her to the exact place she had taken him to.

“So you still remember this place?” Janelle asked surprised.

“Of course. How can I forget it? It was one of the best nights of my life.” he replied.

They alighted from the taxi and walked to the clearing. The grass had grown a little higher since the last time they came.

“You do know we cant see the fire flies light by this time.” She said to him.

“I know. I didn’t bring us here for that.” he said then looked at her with an indifferent gaze. “I brought you here to kill you and bury you! Muhahahahaha!” he said, laughing like a beast and chasing her across the clearing with clawless fingers.

He soon caught up with her and dragged her across the field like a killer who was looking for a perfect spot to bury his victim.

“You are going to ruin my clothes” laughed Janelle as they joked around. She freed herself again and he raced after her and caught her shortly. This time they both lay on the ground breathlessly.

“You are crazy you know?” said Janelle, catching her breath.

“We needed the exercise.” he replied breathing heavily. “Take. Open it.” he said, giving her a wrapped gift.

She opened it, and unveiled a really beautiful, alluring necklace.

“Oh my goodness!” she exclaimed in excitement. “This is so beautiful! I love it!”

Sadiq smiled, glad that she liked it.

“Thank you so much!” she gave him a quick hug. “I want to put it on now! Now!” she said like a little girl.

She gave it to Sadiq who went behind her, pulled her blonde hair to one side and let the necklace rest on her collar-bone and secured it from the back.

“How do I look?” she asked excitedly, facing him.

“Perfect!” he managed to say.

She brought out her selfie stick from her bag and used her phone to view how the necklace looked on her.

“You really have eyes for good things.” She remarked, admiring the necklace.

“So do you.” he said, focusing on the necklace.

She dropped her phone back in her bag.

“Thanks again.” she said, holding hands with him.

They were very close now, too close!

“You know, what you did that day was very wrong. The day you returned from Lagos. To be honest you really hurt my feelings.” she said.

They were very close now and they could smell each other’s breath.

“I didn’t mean to.” he responded, cautious of the face that was directly facing him.

“But you hurt me.” she repeated slowly with a low voice which carried her breath to his nostrils.

Unable to resist, he moved his lips a little further which prompted her to do likewise and their lips touched. It was warm, warm and soft. Her lips tasted like strawberry and her breath smelt good.

They lost their senses, forgetting where they were. Although it was just a mere kiss, but it was very passionate, too passionate. It was probably the longest kiss they’ve both ever had and it didn’t seem like it was going to end anytime soon.

In between the smooching, lips locked together, Sadiq forced some words out;

“Janelle…we….. shouldn’t do… this..please!” he begged. He begged because his will power seemed low and he couldn’t stop at his own accord.

But Janelle wasn’t even listening. In fact the way he talked while they kissed made his lips more desirable to her. He should keep talking for all she cared while they smooched.

Noticing that she wasn’t ready to give up, he held her by her two alms and pulled her back.

“Why do I get the feeling that you are still a virgin?” she asked.

“Because I still am.” he replied still holding her.

“Me too.” she said and added determinedly. “But we can change that now, this instance.”

“No we won’t!” replied Sadiq.

“Why did you now bring me here and flirt with me?” she asked with a sad, annoyed yet calm tone.

“That was not the purpose.” he replied back. It certainly wasn’t. But he wasn’t aware of how he unconsciously invited this whole situation.

She turned her back against him.

“You know what?” she asked without waiting for his reply. “I can’t take it no more. It’s been too long.” she added, turning to face him while her hair flew sideways as she turned.

Sadiq laughed. “So what do you want to do now? Rape me?”

“Yes!” she replied, getting closer to him.

“You don’t have the strength to overpower me.” smiled Sadiq.

“I have more strength than you could possibly imagine.” She said, walking towards him while he kept taking steps backward as she approached him.

“No matter the strength you have it can never be more than that of a man.” replied Sadiq.

“Who said I have the strength of a human?” she asked rhetorically.

“Meaning?”

“I am not what you think i am.” was her reply.

“Let me guess, you are an alien.” joked Sadiq.

“No. But close enough.” she replied.

It was getting really late. The little insects in the grass made hissing, squeaking and strumming sounds. The crickets and grasshoppers made their little noise and because of how desert the place was, it became very loud.

“What are you trying to say?”

“I am not of this world. I am not human.” she claimed.

“Okay nice try. I think you’ve had enough fun. Let’s go now.” he said, uncomfortable with what was going on.

“Let me prove it to you.” she said. “ Explain how I know that you were robbed on your way to Kano?”

“Simple” laughed Sadiq. “You saw my bbm status update.”

“Explain how I know that your little sister was very ill.” She continued.

“I wrote ‘get well soon’ on my whatsapp status. You must have seen it there.” he said. “Please quit this okay?”

“Not until you believe me.” She said. “Apart from you and your parents, who else knows the three things the seer said would happen to you?”

Sadiq was in shock! He was stunned, staring at her. No one else knows this. Not even Humaira. How did she know this!

“How did you get to know about this?” he asked. But he knew it was foolish of him to have asked her such a question. He should rather believe her claim.

“Let me show you something.” She said. “Where is your laptop?”

“At home.” he replied her.

Immediately, like a flash of light and speed of lightning, she was gone and back within seconds, holding Sadiq’s laptop!

“Believe me now?” she asked him.

He couldn’t run! How could he when the one he was suppose to run away from was faster than the blink of an eye. His legs were weak, at a point he thought his legs won’t support his body anymore!

His whole body was shivering. He never believed in magic or anything super natural, but today, this evening, he was standing face to face with a real non human!

The quest to find the non human may have ended, but the mystery continues!
