How can the police mention the lives that were lost when they came 1 hour after the operation!

Today 13/10/2015 at about 0825hrs the Area ‘E’ and the Divisional Police Headquarters both at Festac Town received information of sporadic shootings at 4th Avenue Festac Town, Lagos. In a swift reaction, the Area Commander, Area ‘E’ mobilized a joint Team of Area ‘E’ and Divisional Headquarters, Festac that engaged the Armed robbers numbering over 40, dressed in military Camouflage and armed with military assault rifles of various calibre robbing Access and Diamond Banks simultaneously. The gun battle forced the armed robbers to abandon over Twenty Seven Million Naira and Two Hundred and Forty Rounds (240) of 7.62mm live ammunition. No life was lost on both sides. The case has been referred to Special Anti-Robbery Squad for discreet investigation while security has been beefed up within Festac Town and its environs.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State wishes to reassure the residents of Lagos of their safety and urge them to go about their normal business as he has vowed to stop at nothing in unraveling the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

Why does this mode of operation sound familiar? Oh wait there was a similar incident at lekki where an orange seller was killed,why do i have a feeling its the same band of robbers,could it be the men the police displayed back then where innocent men that were forced to agree to a crime they didnt commit? No, it won't happen. Police is now born-again. There is change now. In fact, the robbery was a one-off accident. I will never happen again.

Can you believe that I was at oyingbo this evening around 9:40pm when police officers started picking Young men walking behind the road and pushing them into 3 black danfo buses. I was just pitying those innocent guys

Don't the police have helicopters for aerial tracking of the robbers movement so as to counter their escape? when are we going to really take this nation seriously. It really baffles me how armed robbers will have all the time in the world to rob two banks simultaneously in a very busy working day and yet all of them escape. The simple message here is that we are not secured at all.

BTW last time a similar incident happened in Lekki a governor been celebrated as a genius today said it was because all police went to protect the ex presidio instead of sitting down and analysing how it was possible for criminals to penetrate the city centre and mitigating future reoccurrence.

I was close by watching korokoro and seeing the robbers having a field day shooting sporadically unchallenged and even had the guts to walk jejely carrying their loots and answering calls towards mobil filling station and then diverted to the canal at the bank of the small fresh vegetable market by 23 rd/4th ave junction. Pls can Nigerian youth have sense, let me ask you a question, can you face armed robber on gun battle, lets try to appreciate this professionals for God's sake. @bolded, ordinary grammar you don't understand yet you claim you are a graduate. No life was lost at the gun battle not at the scene of robbery. The robbers succeeded with the robbery but later abandoned 27m at the gun battle scene.
We are fast in criticizing the NPF but ordinary fracas will scare us.
