Yeah they may nt be as smashingly good as the last U17 bt i believe they still have what it takes to challenge for the title.
The last Eaglets were better by miles thann d other teams. With good tactics and technical and tactical descipline this team might jst win it. This is a much improved team from d CAF U17. Beating Argentina in their home soil is a pointer to what d team is in Chile to achieve.
Very true, beating the junior abiceleste in their backyard is no joke. I have faith in this team to do us proud.

The squad is made up of some few notable outstanding names, who can change the game for the team any day, just as noted some where above by TheSuperNerd. My concern however, is about our bench.

EXCL: Agents demand 4m pounds for Eaglets star Nwakali

Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali - Is he worth 4 million pounds?
by Samm Audu
Agents have asked Manchester City to fork out a staggering four million pounds for Nigeria U17 skipper Kelechi Nwakali, AfricanFootball.com has exclusively gathered.
Highly-rated Nwakali recently trained with City in England with a view to giving him a pre-contract agreement as first reported by AfricanFootball.com
However, we can specially report today that what stalled the transfer of the Eaglets star to Ettihad was the staggering sum of four million pounds the agents working for the youngster tabled before City.
“The agents of Kelechi want four million pounds for the player. That was the main reason talks have stalled,” a top official told AfricanFootball.com on Monday.
Kelechi’s older brother and Flying Eagles ace Chidiebere is believed to have cost Manchester City over a million pounds.
City now plan to watch the player, who was Nigeria’s star at the recent CAF U17 Championship in Niger, at the U17 World Cup in Chile in October before they would take a final decision on him.
The Eaglets Class of 2015 is built around the younger Nwakali, who besides being a midfielder who takes charge of the midfield also weighs in with his fair share of goals.
He netted three goals at the CAF Championship in Niger.

Can Kelechi Nwakali justify 4 million pounds price tag in Chile?

Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali - His biggest test is in Chile
by Samm Audu
Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets Class of 2015 will be led by 4 million pounds-rated Kelechi Iheanacho, younger brother of Chidiebere Nwakali who shone two years ago as Nigeria won a record fourth FIFA U17 World Cup.
The older Nwakali was one of Nigeria’s top performers in Abu Dhabi so much so that several top European clubs including Liverpool tabled offers for him before he finally settled for Manchester City.
Both brothers are midfielders with Chidiebere admitting his brother is a more technically gifted player.
“I am the aggressive one, always fighting for every ball, he is a lot more composed and he is more skillful,” he told AfricanFootball.com
“He has a bright future and I hope he soon joins me in Europe.”
In January, Kelechi Nwakali trained with Manchester City youth team and officials said he did well despite the fact that it was winter, a weather he is not familiar with.
However, talks between City and the youngster’s handlers broke down when they tabled a four million pounds demand for the player.
Manchester City have now said they plan for have a second look at the midfielder at the World Cup in Chile.
Nwakali has already proved his class at the African Junior Championship in Niger earlier this year when he scored three goals as the Eaglets finished a disappointing fourth to barely qualify for the World Cup.
“Kelechi has demonstrated why he was chosen as captain of the team. But it is also very important to recognise the contributions of the rest of the players towards the success of the team because football is a team work,” Nigeria U17 coach Emmanuel Amuneke remarked then.
“In our time, we had Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, but Okocha could not do the job alone. He couldn’t have attacked and defended at the same time; he needed the support of the rest of the team.
“Nwakali needs to keep his head cool and remain focused in order to reach the zenith of his football career because it is not enough to have the talent to play football.
“There are other things that are important for him to succeed as a player. One needs to be disciplined, for instance, to succeed in everything he does in life.”
The Eaglets are built around their No 10 and it will be how well he can cope with this added responsibility and pressure that will most probably determine how far the country fare in Chile.
It was a very difficult upbringing for the Nwakalis following the passing of their father and bread winner. Such pressure like farming and selling cassava in the village early in life so as to make ends meet could only have prepared him better for what he will now face in South America beginning from 9pm Nigerian time on Saturday.

8 Key Golden Eaglets Facts Ahead Of U-17 World Cup

The Golden Eaglets will start the defence of their FIFA U-17 World Cup title in Chile when they take on the United States of America in the torunament's opening game on Saturday. The Eaglets who didn't do too well at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Niger, will hope to emulate their predecessors by winning a fifth title for Nigeria.
As millions of Nigerians will be backing the team to do well in Chile, Comple tesportsnigeria.com's JAMES AGBEREBI lists out EIGHT interesting facts about the Eaglets since making their debut in China in 1985…
THEY'VE NEVER LOST AN OPENING GAME AT THE U-17 WORLD CUP
Since the Golden Eaglets started appearing at the FIFA U-17 World Cup, they are yet to lose their opening game. It is on record that they have played 10 opening games, recorded six wins and four draws. (1985: Nigeria 1-0 Italy) (1987: Nigeria 1-1 Soviet Union) (1989: Nigeria 4-0 Canada) (1993: Nigeria 8-0 Canada) (1995: Nigeria 1-1 Qatar) (2001: Nigeria 2-1 France) (2003: Nigeria 1-1 Costa Rica) (2007: Nigeria 2-1 France) (2009: Nigeria 3-3 Germany) (2013: Nigeria 6-1 Mexico).
THEY THRASHED CANADA 8-0 IN JAPAN 1993, THEIR HIGHEST EVER OPENING GAME SCORELINE
At the 1993 edition in Japan, the Golden Eaglets walloped Canada 8-0 in their first game of the tournament. It was their biggest opening day win ever. Goals from Nwankwo Kanu (hat-trick), Peter Anosike (brace) Ibrahim Babangida (brace) and Festus Odini, sealed the emphatic win for the Eaglets. The closest to this was in 2013 in the UAE where they beat Mexico 6-1.
THEY ARE YET TO LOSE IN THE SEMI-FINAL AT THE U-17 WORLD CUP
The Golden Eaglets have not tasted defeat in the semi-final of the U-17 World Cup. They have a knack of always progressing into the final whenever they reach the last four: (1985: NIGERIA 1-1 GUINEA, WON 4-2 ON PEN.) (1987: Nigeria 1-0 Italy) (1993: Nigeria 2-1 Poland) (2001: Nigeria 5-1 Australia) (2007: Nigeria 3-1 Germany) (2009: Nigeria 3-1 Spain) (2013: Nigeria 3-0 Sweden).
THEY HAVE NEVER WON A FINAL AFTER CONCEDING FIRST
One sour aspect of the Golden Eaglets is that they've never gone on to win in a final match at the U-17 World Cup after conceding first. All the three defeats they've suffered in the final, the opponents scored first. Against Soviet Union in 1987, Philip Osondu drew the Eaglets level after Yuri Nikiforov had put the Europeans ahead. And in the penalty shootout, the Eaglets lost 4-2.
At the 2001 edition in Trinidad and Tobago, they crumbled 3-0 in the final to France despite beating them 2-1 in their opening group game.
And in the 2009 edition which was hosted in Nigeria, a less fancied Switzerland side shocked the Eaglets inside the Abuja National Stadium with a 1-0 win. Despite dominating a large part of the game, the Swiss scored against the run of play and held on in spite of a relentless onslaught from the Eaglets.
THEY'VE ONLY LOST TO EUROPEAN TEAMS IN FINALS
Though the Eaglets have defeated European teams on two occassions before in the final of the U-17 World Cup (West Germany and Spain), their three defeats in finals have only been to European teams: (1987: Soviet Union, 2001: France and 2009: Switzerland).
THEY'VE NEVER LOST TO AN AFRICAN TEAM AT THE U-17 WORLD CUP
The Golden Eaglets have crossed paths with African teams three times at the U-17 World Cup, and have emerged victors in all three meetings.
They first met Guinea at the semi-final of the maiden edition in China and won 4-2 in a penalty shootout. Regulation time ended 1-1. In Japan 1993, they squared up against Ghana in the final and triumphed 2-1. And in the 2001 edition, they managed a 1-0 win against Burkina Faso in the semi-final.
CHILE WILL BE THE SECOND HOST TEAM THEY WILL BE MEETING
The first time the Golden Eaglets faced the host team at the U-17 World Cup was against Japan in 1993 in the quarter-final. They went on to win 2-1 with goals from Wilson Oruma and Festus Odini. This year's edition will see them take on the host country for the second time in their history in the tournament.
THEIR ONLY TWO QUARTER-FINAL DEFEATS HAVE BEEN TO ASIAN TEAMS
The Golden Eaglets have only suffered defeats twice at the U-17 World Cup. And it is surprising that it has only come against Asian teams.
The first was in Scotland 1989 where they lost 2-0 on penalty shootout to Saudi Arabia, who went on to win the tournament. And the second time they experienced a loss in the quarter-final was in Ecuador 1995, losing 2-1 to Oman despite taking the lead from the penalty spot.

Eaglets Land In Chile, Vow To Retain U-17 World Cup

Champions Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have arrived in Santiago, Chile for the FIFA U-17 World Cup finals, billed for October 17 to November 8.
The Nigeria Football Federation announced via a press release the youngsters' arrival on Wednesday, revealing that they flew into Santiago from their pre-World Cup camp base in Buenos Aires at 8:20pm local time on Tuesday (which is early hours of Wednesday in Nigeria (12:20 am), aboard a Lan Airlines flight.
Speaking to the media on arrival, coach Emmanuel Amuneke and striker Victor Osimhen were upbeat about the chances of the Eaglets successfully defending the trophy.
“We are here to defend the trophy,” said Amuneke."We are here with new players who want to write their own history and we are looking forward to our first game against the United States of America, which is very important for us."
Osimhen echoed the sentiment of Amuneke, adding that they
have been psyched up for the expected challenges as the defending champions.
“We are here to win,” said Osimhen who is Golden Eaglets' top scorer with 39 goals in 71 cumulative international and local matches.
"Just as the coach said, we are here to write our own story as a team and players."
Immediately after dinner at their Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Santiago-Vitacura, where they are accommodated for their opening match against USA on October 17, Amuneke reminded his wards to focus attention on nothing but football as the team seeks a fifth U-17 world title.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has applauded the Embassy of Nigeria in Argentina for rallying behind the Golden Eaglets during their pre-World Cup preparation in Buenos Aires.
Siji Lagunju, Assistant Director (Technical), on behalf of the Federation, said the Nigerian Embassy ably led by Mr. Tiwalade Adelanwa, the Deputy Head of Mission, contributed immensely to the Golden Eaglets' successful stay in Buenos Aires.

FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015
17 October - 08 November.
The U-17 World Cup in numbers

The world’s top young talents are descending on Chile for the 16th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, with dozens of goals, hundreds of dribbles and committed tackles, thousands of spectators and millions of fans all playing their part in the action.
As the countdown continues to the first games in South America, FIFA.comgrabs our abacus to look over a few of the standout statistics and fascinating figures from previous editions, as well as the event to come.
172goals were scored in the previous tournament, UAE 2013, a record high for the U-17 World Cup. That record was achieved in 52 games, meaning an average of 3.31 goals per game, bettered only by Japan 1993 (3.34), Peru 2005 (3.47) as well as the record goals per game scored at Egypt 1997 and Finland 2003 (3.66).
1708goals have been scored in the history of the tournament, with Chidera Ezeh of Nigeria notching the 1700th strike in the UAE 2013 semi-final, 10,324 days after Brazilian Bismarck scored the very first goal of China PR 1985.
2.34points per game (three points for a win, one for a draw) is the record-high that holders Nigeria can boast throughout the history of the U-17 World Cup. Their 40 wins, 11 draws and five defeats means they top the all-time ‘league table’ for the tournament with Ghana (2.12 points per game) and Brazil (2.04 points per game) in second and third behind them.
2000is the year in which Mali’s Mamady Diarra, who plays for Yeelen in his home country, was born, making him the first player to be named in a squad for a men’s World Cup tournament (U-17, U-20 or senior), who was born after the turn of the millennium.
55centimetres is the difference in height between the shortest and tallest player at Chile 2015. Guinea midfielder Karim Conte stands 140cm tall, with New Zealand defender Hunter Ashworth towering above him at 195cm. Only 12 players at last year’s senior World Cup stood taller than the Kiwi.
16years, 11 months and ten days will be the average age of the Nigeria squad when the tournament kicks off on Saturday 17 October, the youngest at Chile 2015. Emanuel Amunike will be hoping his young charges continue the good progress made by Manu Garba’s champions from 2013, with 12 out of the 21 in their UAE 2013 squad featuring at the FIFA U-20 World Cup earlier this year in New Zealand.
6games without scoring, the longest drought in the competition’s history, is the unwanted run that New Zealand will be hoping to end in Chile. The Kiwis went goalless in the UAE last time out, with their last strike on the global U-17 stage coming 543 minutes of play ago against Uzbekistan in the Mexico 2011 group stages.
1team, South Africa, will be making their debut at a U-17 World Cup in Chile. Syria and Belgium return for their second appearance after both debuting at Korea Republic 2007, while USA and Brazil make a record-continuing 15th appearance at the global U-17 finals.
1298km, as the crow flies, is the distance between Estadio La Portada in La Serena and Estadio Chinquihue in Puerto Montt the northernmost and southernmost venues at Chile 2015. Eight venues will be used for the first time at U-17 level since the 2009 finals in Nigeria, and two of the stadiums (Estadio Nacional in Santiago and Vina Del Mar’s Estadio Sausalito) that will host games in Chile were also venues for the 1962 FIFA World Cup™.
11players have gone on to win the World Cup after featuring at the U-17 edition, with Toni Kroos (who appeared at Korea Republic 2007) and Mario Gotze (Nigeria 2009) joining the list after their victory in Brazil last year. The nine other world champions are Frenchman Emmanuel Petit, Brazil’s Ronaldinho, Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti and Spain’s Iker Casillas, Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Xavi. Will any of Chile 2015’s stars lift the famous trophy in years to come?

Golden Eaglets
The 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup in Chile will kick off in just three days, with the opening matches set for the evening of Saturday October 17.
Guinea, who finished third at the African U-17 Championships in Niger earlier this year, will take on England in a Group B clash at the Franciso Sanchez Rumoroso Stadium in Coquimbo for the first scheduled match of the tournament, kicking off at 21h00 CAT.
An hour later it will be Nigeria’s turn to get their tournament underway when the Golden Eaglets will face the United States of America at Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos Stadium in the capital Santiago in Group A.
The Nigerian match will serve as the curtain-raiser for the hosts’ match against Croatia at the same venue, kicking off at 1.00am in the earlier hours of Sunday morning.
Eaglets will be gunning for a record fifth U-17 World Cup title.
According to Corporate Affairs Manager of StarTimes, the broadcast right holder of Chile 2015, Bolaji Israel, all the matches are going to be televised live on StarTimes’ Sports Arena channel.
“Nigerians are going to watch the Golden Eaglets take on USA in their first game of the tournament live early hours of Sunday morning. All the other matches are to be broadcast live also on our Sports Arena channel,” stressed Bolaji.
Nigeria has won the World Cup four times - in 1985, 1993, 2007 and 2013. The Eaglets were also runners-up in 1987, 2001 and 2009.
The coach Emmanuel Amuneke led team booked a place in the Chile 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup as semi-finalists at CAF U17 championship, losing the third place game 3-1 to Guinea.
They featured at an invitational tournament in South Korea, which also included Brazil, Croatia and the home nation, before they trained in Argentina for two weeks ahead of the World Cup.
Two years ago a team parading the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Yahaya Musa, Dele Alampasu, Captain Musa Mohammed broke several records on their way to winning the tournament in style.
In Chile, the Eaglets Class of 2015 boast Victor Osimhen, who is the team's leading scorer; Funsho Bamgboye, who has added class to the team’s strike force; Kelechi Nwakali, who is on Manchester City radar and Osinachi Ebere.
Golden Eaglets’ Coach Emmanuel Amuneke is an ex-international and was one of the assistant coaches to Manu Garba in 2013 when they won the trophy.
Chile is hosting the 24 teams in eight cities for the 52 games of the tournament ending on November 8. Africa’s four representatives include; Nigeria, South Africa, Mali and Guinea.

Nwakali's agent was too greedy. Four million pounds is too much for a player Manchester City will spend a lot of money grooming.

Manchester City would have benefited Kelechi Nwakali because of the training Facility and equipments. The coaches would have groomed him for the competitioon.

Wishing the youngster and the Eaglets the best.

Golden Eaglets Youngest Squad At U-17 World Cup

Nigeria will be parading the youngest squad at the FIFA U-17 World Cup which starts in Chile on Saturday, FIFA has revealed.
Calculations show that 16 years, 11 months and ten days will be the average age of the Golden Eaglets squad when the tournament kicks off on Saturday, the youngest at Chile 2015.
Former Super Eagles star Emanuel Amuneke, the coach of the side, will be hoping his young charges continue the good progress made by Manu Garba’s champions from 2013, with 12 out of the 21 in their United Arab Emirates 2013 squad featuring at the FIFA U-20 World Cup earlier this year in New Zealand.
Amuneke, Africa Cup of Nations winner and World Cup star, was one of Garba’s assistants in the UAE two years ago.
The Eaglets finished fourth at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, picking the last African ticket for Chile.

FIFA U-17 World Cup: The task before Amuneke and the Golden Eaglets

In a couple of days, the FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off in Chile where the Golden Eaglets will be aiming for an unprecedented title number 5.
The Eaglets are not the best team in Africa but are going to the global event with huge optimism and the high expectations of millions of their compatriots.
If we could have a repeat of the last edition at the United Arab Emirates, I'm certain majority of Nigerians would gladly play back the scenes and have the title wrapped up in similar style.
That team also didn't go to UAE as African champions but got its acts together at the tourney and blew all comers away.
Thankfully, Emmanuel Amuneke, the current head coach, was part of the coaching staff that put that team together and hopefully he would have rinse and repeat the same winning formula.
Coincidentally, after the success of that tournament, top European clubs that had been experiencing a dearth of top quality Nigerian youngsters started falling head over heels to sign up the teenagers.
The ultimate task before the coach may be daunting but it can be simply stated: win the competition.
Truth is every team participating has a chance of lifting the trophy, but as defending champions who have had no hitch in preparation and have been together for a while now, the Golden Eaglets stand an even better chance than the other teams.
It should however not be considered failure if this team does not lift the trophy in Chile.
Strangely, all four of our previous titles have been won on Asian soil (China ‘85, Japan ‘93, Korea ‘07 & UAE ‘13). And since Chile is in the chilliest part ofSouth America, Nigerians should not be totally disappointed if the team doesn't win the 2015 edition.
It would be great if we won but we are not the only country entitled to that trophy.
Just as important as winning, is playing well.
At the African tourney in February, Amuneke's team looked disjointed and lacking in fight when succumbing tamely to South Africa and Guinea in the knockout rounds.
The one-time Africa Best Player would do well to avoid a repeat performance. Nigerians can live with mediocrity in the rank of the Super Eagles but the U-17 side, they can't ignore. There's an avalanche of talented teenagers literally on every single street from Maiduguri to Port Harcourt.
Any coach who can't give us Kelechi Iheanacho, Dele Alampasu and Awoniyi every two years from the same production line that churned out the likes of Akpoborie, Adepoju,Kanu, Babayaro, Ikpeba and countless others is not worth is measure in cow dung.
Beyond winning, Nigerians expect a team strewn together with the never-say-die Nigerian spirit: full of guts, not lacking in balls, ready for a fight and not afraid to be creative. A joy to watch when attacking, not shy in front of goals and resolute when defending.
We want a team that will have a brilliant outing, go as far as possible and not be humiliated even in defeat.
In short, a team as exciting as the Nigerian coach on his way to winning theAfrica Player of the Yearaward in 1994.
We would like to see emerge from the competition another set of talented youngsters in the ilk of Iheanacho and Awoniyi, blessed with the football talents that can one day be developed into world class quality.
That is the task before coachEmmanuel Amuneke.
This is the first time he will be in-charge of any of the national sides. Even though his audition didn't go as projected at the African championships earlier in the year, fortunately he was able to secure this World Cup ticket and he wasn't sacked.
Now he has a second chance to make a great first impression.
And if he can excel at the assignment ahead, then he may kick-start a great managerial career that may eventually see him take charge of the Super Eagles.
Fail, and he may lose reckoning in future national callings, swallowed by the task that should have been a springboard.

A couple of English Premier League clubs have sent their scouts to Chile to run the rule over the top stars in the Golden Eaglets fold, a llnigeriasoccer.com reports.
It is confirmed that representatives of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool will be in the stands on Saturday when the Nigeria Under - 17s clash with their United States counterparts at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago.
The players that are on the radar of the English Premier League trio are skipper Kelechi Nwakali ( ASJ Academy), Funsho Bamgboye (Aspire Academy), Victor Osimhen (Ultimate Strikers) and Joel Osikel ( Young Eleven FC).
Prior to the tournament in Chile, Kelechi Nwakali had flirted with Manchester City, with the Citizens suits inviting him to England and he was given a tour of the club’s training facilities.
Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Yahaya were snapped up by English clubs after the 2013 FIFA U17s.

Africa: From Abu Dhabi to Santiago - Golden Eaglets On the March Again

Nigeria may have won the FIFA U-17 World Cup a record fourth time but their last outing in the United Arab Emirates two years ago still evokes memories as the West Africans head to Chile to defend their title.
The 'Class of 2013' guided by Manu Garba played football with an uncommon élan which bowled over everyone from the start to the end of the tournament where they were crowned world champions, following the trail of their illustrious predecessors of 1985, 1993 and 2007.
The enterprising Nigerians who were losing finalists at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in in Morocco early in 2013, left nobody in doubt about their ambition to conquer the world again with a blistering start of their campaign with a 6-1 spanking of Mexico, then defending champions in the Group F opener at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
But the Nigerians were jolted to the reality that the World Cup at whatever level is not a tea party three days later in their next game against Sweden. The Scandinavian debutants shocked the West Africans with a 3-3 draw at the same venue.
The Golden Eaglets bounced back in style in the ultimate Group F match against Iraq at Al Rashid Stadium in Dubai ending the match with a flattering 5-0 win courtesy a brace from Musa Yahaya and a goal each from Musa Muhammed, Chidiebere Nwakali and Chigozie Obasi. The result saw Nigeria top the group with seven points and a date with another Asian side, Iran at the Round of 16 in Al Ain, where the West African triumphed 4-1.
Nigeria saw off Uruguay 2-0 at the quarters thanks to a Taiwo Awoniyi double.
Making of World Champions
Like the proverbial saying 'what goes around comes around' goes around; so was the case with the Golden Eaglets as fate yet again brought them face-to-face with group phase rivals, Sweden and Mexico at the semis and final respectively.
Sweden coach Roland Larsson was graceful in defeat after his side were thumped 3-0 by the West African for a place at the grand finale.
"I think we played against the world champions today; if you are going to beat Nigeria, you have to play without mistakes and take your chances," Larsson admitted.
Yet the talk before the Final Match at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi was a possible revenge for the defending champions, Mexico who felt humiliated after an earlier 6-1 massacre in the hands of the Golden Eaglets at the group stage.
An own goal by Javier Aguirre coupled with second half strikes from Kelechi Iheanacho and Musa Mohamed landed the Golden Eaglets the ultimate for a record fourth time.
"Of course, I have won this trophy before. I was an assistant coach when Nigeria won the trophy in 2007. But winning it on Friday (November 8, 2013) by beating Mexico would be the best moment of my coaching career," a very excited Garba told a packed audience at the post match conference.
Apart from winning the trophy on offer, Nigeria remarkably swept almost all the individual honours with the Golden Ball (Best Player) and Silver Boot (second top scorer) going to Iheanacho and Golden Glove for goalkeeper Dele Alampasu. The team also claimed the Fair Play trophy.
Back to the future
Can the 'Class of 2015' replicate the successes of their predecessors at the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup taking place in Chile between October 17 and November 8?
The team is now under the watch of former African Footballer of the Year, Emmanuel Amuneke who incidentally was assistant coach to Manu Garba when the Golden Eaglets won the title two years ago in the United Arab Emirates.
"I think it would be wrong to compare this team with the last team that won the World Cup in the UAE though I was part of that process. We will do our best in the defence of our title in Chile," noted Amuneke.
The Golden Eaglets are housed in Group A with hosts Chile, Croatia and USA.
For the records: Where are Golden Eaglets of 2013 now?
How time flies for the Nigeria's 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup squad after their remarkable success in the United Arab Emirates?
So much has happened to the careers of the lads being regarded as the country's 'Next Golden Generation' with the likes of Isaac Success (Granada) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City) already enjoying the spotlight respectively in the Spanish La Liga and English Premier League.

Nigeria the youngest, Germany the oldest - the average age of every squad at Fifa U17 World Cup Chile 2015

Watch out for these German machines. I gues these ones will be as heavy as the ones they featured at the U20.
Age matters so much in these age grade competitions. If you think am lying, go and as Taiwo Awoniyi. The German defenders almost scattered his bones.
But why are the German machines always the ones with the oldest squad
