bokohalal: Simply warn your Edo folks to cease creating useless threads on NL to insult the Igbos. Tell them to respect themselves and stop seeking unnecessary attention by accusing Igbos of claiming Edoid groups. |

bokohalal: We did not not have surnames in Africa before the White man came? Who told you this? Olauda Equiano was born in Isi-Eke in present day Anambra state in 1745. He was sold into slavery in 1756. He later wrote a book called 'The interesting narrative of Olauda Equiano' in which he talked about Igbo culture and how important the last name or family name is to differentiate between family branches. In 1798 when EquIano wrote his book, the White man was still trading and buying slaves on the coast and had not even come inland to what would later be Nigeria. Igbos have always had surnames long before the White man came to West-Africa. 2 Likes |

The general consensus is Supreme over the selfish interest of your associates. In any case, if they so love to be Igbo, they should move east into Igboland..they won't be missed. |

Kagawa10: OMFG..dude GET A BRAIN TRANSPLANT. I'll keep saying this because you are the dumbest DUMBEST person I've ever met in my entire life. First the word is IKA. Ika was first associated as eka by Isidore, a Benin writer, you fucking buf00n and till date it still not being used. The correct term is ika you dimwit. Second IKA is an entire territory which consist of different communities. Agbor does not equal ika and ika does not equal agbor. Agbor is one community in ika you dimwit. Lastly, go back to my post with agbor dein post and read. After doing so, don't disturb me again with you illiterate rant unless you have something intelligent to contribute. I literally rather talk to a virus than you cause honestly even a virus have more brain cells and more intelligent than you. 2 Likes |

Re: Ikwerre, Ukwuanni, Ika, Ahoada And Ekpeye Are Not Igbo But Edo by AreaFada2: 6:33pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
bokohalal:Actually very well-known to hobby historians and enthusiasts. There were many other schemes. In 1914, Ado-Akure people in Eastern Yorubaland were refused journey to Benin to offer tribute to Oba Eweka II upon coronation. That had been the tradition for centuries. That was to cut off ties with kilt and kin outside core Benin area. Whereas it was normal to chose the Iyase (traditional prime minister) of Benin from Akure, Brass or other areas with Benin descent people. Okoro-Otun and Otokiti come to mind as previous Iyase. This ensured Iyase's independence from the elite/chiefs and dukes and he represented ordinary Benin people before the king. Anyhow, in keeping with that tradition, the current Iyase is of Urhobo extraction. People fail to realise just how sophisticated and balanced ancient Benin politics was. 1 Like |

HopeAtHand:Most times your comments puts you into silly trouble than you can ever imagine. I hate it when someone claims to be something, yet they keep making silly mistake. Wokem nye nga o ka ibu (speaking in Ikwerre), where did you say you came from again because my Emohua peeps are smart and hardly make such silly blunder. Be consistent wokem if you wanna chat intellectually with wene gi. Where are they located if not East. Apart from Ogoniland and Ijawland which neighbouring ethnic group stay close to them, if not the Igboid tribes. Maybe you are the only one around who see them in the West. Put on your glasses and tell me what you see. They are already in the EAST and nobody born of a woman can relocate them from that place. 5 Likes 1 Share |

onenaira3:Because a virus has no cell whatsoever! Lol! Prior to colonisation, the word was pronounced Eka before the British came and pronounced it Ika with their accent! Whether ika or eka, none has ibo meaning! I asked you earlier and will ask again, does the dein of Agbor put on ibo traditional attires or the bini's? How about the various areas in Agbor with bini names? Yeye! |

Kagawa10: Virus is a cell itself you dimwit. I'm not even going to start teaching biology to you. Common English is hard for you sef. I'll make this as simple as I can make it. EKA was never used in the past. The word ika came out when aniocha, oshmili, etc came and it is a term used to associate communities near each other. AGBOR..........IS........NOT.......IKA ONLY. Does that get in or do I need to simplify it some more so your retarded brain can get it. Agbor is one community in ika land. Actually let me use picture cause people like you don't know how to read You see in that pic where it said ika north east, ika south.. Yes well agbor is ONE group in ika spefically south. There are several more beside agbor is both territory u hear? If you need the names I can name them for you. Therefore so refer back to the capitalized word. Secondly which are the areas of agbor with Bini words? In fact, let me requote dein idwue
