Henry120: we only have ~9 because 4 have retired. 9 + 4 = 13 (plus 2 at weapons development = 15) This means that you have been wrong, for years. What boggels my mind is that you didnt listen to us WELL DONE ON POINTING OUT YOU HAVE BEEN WRONG FOR OVER TWO YEARS 1 Like |

Patchesagain: Actually 9 Gripen Pilots, not Gripen jets. None of the pilots are combat qualified. In actual reality, you have 0 GEN fighter jets. 1 Like |

AKs and RPG, 23mms light arms. -- did the rebels possess any MRLS? -- YOU SOLDIERS RETREATED... MISSION FAILED!!! 1 Like |

Henry120: First batch of gripens were received in 2010 and the last ones in 2012. SANDF has over nine gripen pilots. Hawks and gripens are used as same training platforms. |

Cameroon has just disgraced themselves and caused a million more problems by allowing 300 US troops into their land to "fight Boko Haram", Cameroon is a disgrace to Africa. I thought it was bad enough being a french colony in 2015 and now they are doing this. |

Patchesagain: All those propaganda liars did not do any military reconnaissance and intelligence gatherings in Bangui, that's why they manufacture figures from 2,000 to even more ridiculous 7,000 Seleka. French army intelligence report from inside Bangui said between 1,000 to 1,500 Seleka rebels. Best source from battlefield. CASE CLOSED. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by HandOfChukwu: 8:28pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
FighterPilot:They are doing it because they want to destroy West Africa and now Cameroon has let them in they are soon going to turn Cameroon into Syria mk2. This is going to cause big problems. |

agaugust: Seleka was on full strength when they swept the CAR government on a coup. Seleka is an alliance of rebels totalling over 6000 and SA alone took on over 3000 of them when the CAR government troops and peacekeepers force disappeared into thin air. Truly, Djotodia would have never risked to take over Bangui by force with only 1000 militants to face possibly gunship that was patrolling the area, French troops, SANDF troops and CAR government troops. |

FighterPilot: You just proved how useless South African military academy is ! You have BSc Military science from a useless country like South Africa. Reconaissance is done by an entire army using various regiments like regular infantry, armour, and regular recce regiments. Show me a source that defines reconnaissance as an operation performed only by special forces. You mean an army armoured corps brigade in a tank battle will not do reconnaissance? Army mechanized regular infantry IFVs like BTR-4, Patria, Bradley, BMP-3, etc all have reconnaisance versions, so are those IFV for special forces ? Scorpion tank is a recconnaisance tank belonging to armoured regiments. Do special forces use tanks for reconnaissance? http://www.military-today.com/tanks/fv101_scorpion.htm PHOTO : SCORPION RECCE TANK....SANDF MILITARY EDUCATION IS WORSE THAN THAT OF RWANDA

agaugust: The word reconnaissance has now become so much of a fancy word to be misused by many militaries across the world. Reconnaissance as we come to know it is not the task that is performed by ordinary military forces other than those who have vigorously trained to do it. It is no wonder that you understand that word on the spectrum of civilian milieu because you are a civilian and hardly know anything military. You read about military and whatever you have written ever since the beginning of this forum was largely based on your theory. I have never head you writing anything out of experience. Reconnaissance and surveillance is a specialised task which happens at the front lines. Special forces carry out such duties. Like it or not. |
